I made this today and it is unbelievable! So delicious! My husband loved it and I can't stop eating it. I couldn't get heavy cream but I used egg nog and it was so good. Thank you so much!
I made this for my family for Christmas and it was a huge hit. Soak your raisins in warm bourbon. I am not a alcohol drinker, but the bourbon really gives a good flavor.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Tried this recipe and left it in the refrigerator overnight. The next afternoon I served it with the sauce and vanilla ice cream on top and let me tell you guys!……… it was AMAZING !! my favorite recipe I’ve made so far. Amazing !!
I made this tonight for St. Patrick's Day and it is hands down my favorite bread pudding recipe I've ever made (I make bread pudding every year). The only thing I did differently is I didn't do raisins (hubby doesn't like them) and I didn't add bourbon. My entire family enjoyed it
szamee83 Caramel is essentially melted sugar, so I assume you but in a bit of sugar and either a little water or butter. Put baking pan in the oven enough to melt the butter and/or heat the water, mix with the sugar and then spread over the bottom to create a layer under the BP as it cooks.
I made this today and followed the recipe. I used challah bread which is an egg based bread and popular with bread pudding. Taste was delicious. Next time I might use slightly less than half a cup of sugar for the topping. But all in all this is as good as you can get.
Have been using this recipe for years now and it hits EVERY SINGLE TIME !! Can't be thankful enough ❤️. I made some adjustments and it still turned out amazing: In the bread pudding (Instead of french bread, I use normal bread that's been in the house for 2 days max and 3/4 C of granulated sugar). For the sauce (Instead of 1/2 C of sugar I use only 2-3Tbsp)
Who’s here Apr 2020 quarantined life? I made this and we love it!!! Made from my 2day old home made bread and it was yummy! The sauce was so good too! We didn’t put alcohol though so kids and can eat it 😊 thank you for this recipe! Keep safe!
This recipe is spot on PERFECTION!! I am a picky cooker and especially when people don’t give details about when and how to do things along the recipe. YOU”RE AMAZING! Thank you so much!! People think I am an amazing baker/cooker because of YOU!! Thank you!!!
I made a previous bread pudding which my mom, grandmother, two daughters and myself enjoyed, but my husband and son didn’t like it. Than I made yours, to my total surprise, son and husband liked it so much that they had seconds. So now my entire family loves bread pudding! ❤
i ve try it. MY GOD!! its Delicious...finished perfectly...i just skip the alcohol tho.....even my mom asked me where did i buy this..? lol...thanks for the recipe....
I' made this for the very first time by following your video to the "T". I'm super excited that it turned out really good from start to finish. I dug into it after an hour of baking,; I couldn't even wait for it to cool. I let it cooled in my mouth instead. I know now what I'll be bringing to my next "office potluck". And by the way, I just finished licking both fork and plate. Keep 'em coming!
I have to say a huge thank you. I made this for my very hungry sons...all five of them and I added frozen berries...along with both white and milk chocolate chips. I left it to soak for roughly 25 minutes and then slowly cooked it for just over an hour. Served it with rich homemade icecream and while the compliments were great I did tell them all that it wasn't my recipe and referred them to your channel. I am now a new sub thanks to this recipe.
I am normally not a huge fan of bread pudding, but I saw this video and it looked so good I just had to make it. We had it for dinner tonight and it was wonderful!! I could have taken the pan full of vanilla bourbon sauce and eaten it spoonful after spoonful....talk about heavenly! Thanks for this recipe - I will definitely be making this again. :)
I made my own version of bread pudding, which is pretty much like every other generic version, but I wanted a rich sauce with some depth. Well, low and behold, here it is. I just made this sauce, but I increased the recipe slightly because my bread pudding a slightly larger, used a single jumbo egg, a cup and a half of cream, about a quarter cup of bourbon, as well as the cinnamon and vanilla, and MAN this sauce is amazing. This is going to make my generic cinnamon raisin bread pudding, took and taste like something you'd get in a three star restaurant. This will be my go to sweet cream sauce from now on. It would be pretty amazing on just about anything, including ice cream. Actually, this would make an old shoe taste amazing. Well done, my friend. Thank you for the easy to follow recipe.
Yummm!!! My secret recipe is to let it soak overnight. Stale bread is best. My mom showed me how to make it since I was 8 years old. Super easy! Organic eggs are best or duck eggs. A little bit of honey takes it to the next level.
I just tried this and it turned out Great!! Especially for my first time ever making bread pudding. And the bourbon sauce was AMAZING!! Even without the bourbon. You Rock!!
Easiest and best bread pudding in all of TH-cam. This is how mama used to make it and she passed away in 2021 😭💔 thank you so much I greatly appreciate it
This recipe rocks!, I made it today, and paired it with my Sunday Pot Roast and Glazed carrots. The Bourbon sauce is so good, except I only had Jack Daniels, versus Jim Beam. Will recommend. Thanks for sharing!, The best I ever had.😉
I like the way you layer the bread and raisins. It ensures that raisins are through out the bread pudding. I'm doing it your way this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
I've been watching videos on bread puddn & I HV to say I like this guy, I like his encouraging voice, & he's very neat & easy to understand!! So I'm gonna try his B.P.😋😋😋
I love, love, love this Bread Pudding recipe! I searched and searched until I found a recipe with raisins in it. Your advice and explanations were very helpful! You have a new subscriber…me 😊 Thank you.
Ok made it early this morning. And just had a slice of this with the bourbon vanilla sauce. I made two sauces one without the bourbon because the kids are picky. But man both the sauce reminds me of eggnog. Awesome recipe!!
I enjoyed your video, the quality of filming is very good. I have to comment though as I grew up knowing real Bread Pudding as my Grandparents owned a chain of Hotels and restaurants. My Grandmother never ever used a new loaf of bread, she used stale bread and if it was't stale she would cut it up and bake it a bit in the over (that baking gave it warmth in taste)...a lot more milk, eggs and sugar and vanilla (double ) what you have there, and the bread was soaked all night in 1/2 of the liquid mixture. She like to keep it simple, but there were times when nuts or fruit was added..anyhow the next day the bread would have been soaked, and the rest of the mixture was poured over it. The dish for this baking was deep, not at all a 3" pan as the bread and custard would rise. It was all baked in a water bath to prevent drying out. And..then the vanilla sauce over top if one wanted, most customers just wanted the bread pudding and no sauce..go figure..Old Fashioned way of making it I am sure, but she said the toasting of the bread was essential and stale bread was better to use.............
Ya know, I think ppl get a bit too hung up on what's considered "traditional" for holiday desserts. I think bread pudding is a fabulous addition to a holiday dinner menu, especially if you make the bourbon sauce. Or...if you want a sauce but want it non-alcoholic, just leave out the bourbon and sub in maybe organic maple syrup or honey for that touch of decadence. However you make it, your family will love it. Happy holidays to you and yours. 😁
Mmmm....This looks so delicious , healthy , and easy to make , as my mouth is watering , and i will be making this for my family .Ideal anytime .A hearty and lovely dessert any time , especially Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner.Thank you for sharing your recipie here , and all the best to you .God bless you always .🌹💖💖🎉
So very good! You won't regret! Making two batches; one for daughter work and the other for our Thanksgiving! We prefer warm like peaches with scoop vanilla ice cream. Enjoy
I can’t wait to try this especially because the recipe I use now, which I luv, is almost identical but I’m sure I’ll love this even more. I like to eat it cold, it’s hard to wait, but it’s so worth it. The thick custard it becomes is amazing. Not sure about the sauce since it’s already so rich, but I may give it a try.
Wow that's an amazing bread pudding! I love the idea of layering the raisins in there and I do find that they sink if added directly to the pudding also. That bourbon sauce would taste fantastic. Hope you are well and glad to see another video from you.
Here's a tip.. actually a secret. I use stale cinnamon rolls. I also soak the raisen in rum. You'll be surprised how great cinnamon the rolls work out. Also... another secret..after soaking shake the raisen in four....just to coat..this will prevent them sinking to bottom.
If I used cinnamon rolls should I still add sugar to the egg mixture? Since cinnamon rolls are sweet should I just skip the sugar? Or how would you do the egg mixture to soak the cinnamon rolls?
I made my pudding Steam! I caramelized the sugar first and put the bread mixture with nuts and some Coffee granules in bread mixture and steam it..I used Jack Daniele for the Bourbon sauce. Its so yummy.. thanks for sharing ..You're New subscriber here!
Turned out great!!! I made up a bit more than twice the sauce, because my family likes more than a drizzle. LOL Anyway ... this turns out wonderfully! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Same here - I actually soak ALL the different dried fruits that I use in bread pudding & other puddings in warmed bourbon rather than boiling or hot water to plump them up. (Unless the tiny humans will be having it of course, lol). We only have the tiny & little humans at holidays now, so I spoil the hubby and I with bourbon-soaked fruit in any recipe that I can, lol. 😉 🥃🍓🍒🥃 🥧🍮🥴👍🏻
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❣ That's the way I do my bread, using round rolls and hand tearing the pieces. My gosh, you'd think this was a sin, in making BREAD PUDDING, but it's the best 😋 instead of uniform little "cubes". Very nice, clean ingredients and this recipe, hopefully we'll be baking tomorrow - at least by the weekend❣ ❣👍
My mom never got technical, cubing bread. She tore it up into pieces. And she invariably used up Pop's communion bread (Pillsbury loaves from a can) because otherwise it was gonna go bad. (We only had communion once a month wherever my dad was serving as a minister.) Since the Pillsbury loaves were a lot like French bread, just in round form, they worked beautifully for bread pudding. 😁😁
So, every year on new years day my family goes to this expensive restaurant just to get some of their bread pudding. I tried this recipe and....my family said they like it a TON better than the one from the restaurant!!! THIS IS THE BEST LITTERALLY
Oh, you'll love this! It's hard to explain to someone who's never had it before but it's so good. Give it a try sometime! (((hugs))) to you and James. :-)
@@croutoncrackerjacks I love learning that someone is finding something new to be excited about. Easily one of my favotire recipies. +Crouton Crackerjacks I seen that. Yum!! you know my mom made hers very different. hers was a cinnamon stick and sugar syrup" liquidity" then about half way Thu the baking. she would sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and not very much either it was shredded of course. I'll have to try and get that recipe and post it one day. I liked it very much also. Cheers! brother
Oh how I love bread pudding! I will be making a double batch of this one. How long do you think I should bake it if I make a double batch in a rectangular dish? I really want to see how that Bourbon sauce tastes, I bet that is super delicious. Thank you, Sheila
I'm going a try this spectacular new old recipe, se ve maravilloso, luce magistral con esa salsa por encima al final, yummy yummy, Saludos desde Venezuela...
Oh my! This bread pudding is sooo good!!! I almost got in trouble for eating too much hahaha. Thank you so much for this recipe. I followed it to the T and was beyond impressed. This will be a great hit for Thanksgiving 🤗
Awesome recipe!! Here's a quick question, ((sounds silly to ask)) can you use a loaf of bread instead of French bread?? Is their any other type of sauce you could use instead of the liquor sauce?? Last question ((sorry)), when you let the bread soak the liquid up for 30 mins, you have to put that in the fridge and not leave it out to soak up the liquid, correct?? I'm DEFINITELY going to make this because I can't seem to find a place that does bread pudding. 😞 And oh, is possible to add banana instead of raisins?? Would you do the layering how you did with the raisins or is their a different method?? Love, love this channel. Its always so much fun!!
I made this today and it is unbelievable! So delicious! My husband loved it and I can't stop eating it. I couldn't get heavy cream but I used egg nog and it was so good. Thank you so much!

Caramelized your baking pan, soak raisins in rum , use coconut milk and you take the pudding to a heavenly level.

I soaked the raisins in Bourbon instead of water and added a pinch of allspice and clove to the custard..this is now the family's favorite dessert.
I boil the raisins in rum. They plump up and soak up all the rum. I also add very thinly sliced bananas. Heaven on earth!

Yum!! you know my mom made hers very different. hers was a cinnamon stick and sugar syrup" liquidity" then about half way Thu the baking. she would sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and not very much either it was shredded of course. I'll have to try and get that recipe and post it one day. I liked it very much also. Cheers! brother
+elrabbitsbbq that's how we made it too. The syrup was made with molasses and the cheddar cheese helped with the taste. We call it capirotada

Oh how I love bread pudding! I will be making a double batch of this one. How long do you think I should bake it if I make a double batch in a rectangular dish? I really want to see how that Bourbon sauce tastes, I bet that is super delicious. Thank you, Sheila

Oh my! This bread pudding is sooo good!!! I almost got in trouble for eating too much hahaha. Thank you so much for this recipe. I followed it to the T and was beyond impressed. This will be a great hit for Thanksgiving 🤗
He knows his way around bread pudding.
I love bread pudding with raisins! You will cringe, but I make it with skim milk and sweetner and it's still delicious! xo
wildheart5 I use skim milk and Splenda, too. And cook it in a slow cooker. The aroma drives me wild!
The most yummiest bread pudding I had ever make. Too bad i can not download the picture of my pudding. Thank you.
I made this one from my homemade chala bread.
It was good.
I made this recipe and it was a Home Run !!
Molto carino e facile da fare. A me piace personalizzarlo con frutta secca.
Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe, i plan on making this very soon, but i was curious could this recipe be done using rice instead of bread?
Just make your rice a little on dry side then mix a bit of the sauce throughout. Enjoy
