@@fallows4life 100% unfortunately here we’re not allowed to use certain species of fish as bait, but just any hook/jig tipped with a big chunk of bait is a great option!
@@LakesnWoodsOutdoors that's sad, but good luck can't wait for burbot season here in Sweden. They're not plenty full I know only 2 lakes in my state that's holds them with one of them receiving low fishing pressure and the other one Being the third biggest in the country.
@@LakesnWoodsOutdoors Where did you try at (like closer to the boat launch or moon light?) and I'm going to be looking for them during the spawn with a under water cam. But from the research I've done it looks like they like to spawn closer to scenic north seen some people catch a couple last year while out skating but didn't get a chance to try for them. P.s if you ever want a buddy with a 6 man tent lmk.
Usually they have to be unfrozen, and make sure you cut the stomach open and remove the air blatter, I like cutting mine up into pieces when dropping it down rather than a whole bait
You can you halve of a bigger fish like roach, rudd or perch small pieces of carp are great aswell

@@fallows4life Practically every decent sized lake around here (Northern Ontario Canada) has Burbot! Super fun fish and I can’t wait either!
Got some big nasty jigs and some frozen Cisco's in the freezer hitting Panache lake and Ramsey for some burbot.
Penache is a fire lake for Burbs, Ramsey is alright for how close it is, but haven't caught one there yet even while trying.

@@nossling8898 I tried by science north and by the first 3 islands. Some people got some but all tiny, my buddy got some nice ones though before.
How do you get the dead minnows (chum) to sink? Mine just float. Or will they sink if not frozen?
