    Ponta Delgada and her people - just amazing. Just home from there and, can't wait to visit again - and all the other islands.
    The Azores are Amazing! One of the places on our planet from where, one wish the flight home could be missed!

      It is indeed. The nature, the architecture, the culture, the calm pace of life, the food (the cheese!)... It's heaven on earth!
      I'm glad you enjoyed the Ponta Delgada walk as much as I enjoyed filming it! 😁

      @@PortugueseFlaneur Thanks and oh yes, love the city..the people...and, there is a lovely wine bar in on of the small streets in the centre in which you can have the most smums cheese plate including nuts, (pine apple-)jam, fruit and off course the wine....a place to sit for an afternoon and/or evening, people watching, having a little chat with the others passing by, the lovely people working there and, never forget the wine 🍷!!
      In short, a perfect home away from home and, I'll definitely visit all the other islands as well, as I will visit the "sister"-islands Cape Verde..can't wait but, will do, as I will enjoy these island groups in full - my last visits close to the old continent before I pack up and leave for my retirement in a better/different climate but, similar lovely mindset, far away...and I know, all these (19 in total) islands, will stay with me for the rest ofy life..
      Thanks again very much, for sharing..👍💕💓💕

      Thank you! It's such a lovely city centre. The architecture resembles that of parts of mainland Portugal, but the dark basaltic stones from give the islands a unique feel

      No Sound, no voiceover, no explanations. Why should one want to watch this?

    • @300rivers7
      @300rivers7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wbader68 Because it's a beautiful place, and there are fewer and fewer of us in the world anymore who need the added noise of someone telling us everything.
      Apparently you're not one of those people.

    I was born there but i wouldn't live there just to visit I'm more interested in visiting the continent now

      All Portugal is beautiful.
      You're absolutely right that island life is a bit different, and in the Açores more so than in Madeira, which is more cosmopolitan.
      But the natural beauty of the Açores is unrivalled.
      I hope you enjoy your trip to the mainland. There's so much variety in such a small country. Different climates and landscapes, different foods, different traditions, etc...
      What are you most interested in visiting?

    Is the Azores part of Haiti? No, it can't be cause I don't see trash anywhere.

    • @PortugueseFlaneur
      @PortugueseFlaneur  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha! Verdade. Também não sou a pessoa mais indicada para explicar as histórias de Ponta Delgada, que eu sou continental... Consigo às vezes escrever alguma coisa interessante nas descrições, mas a ideia dos vídeos é mais mostrar do que propriamente explicar. E o som é o envolvente, da cidade e dos sítios visitados: os carros, as pessoas, o vento, o mar, os pássaros, as arvores, etc...

    What a beautiful place! Thanks so much for posting this. I've visited here
    four times and can't wait to get back for a 5th visit. Will you post any
    walks from other places on the Island?

    • @PortugueseFlaneur
      @PortugueseFlaneur  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I'm so happy people like these walks, as I myself love filming them! :D
      Yes, I was on São Miguel island in August, but I filmed so many videos in the Azores, that I shall be posting them well into February (one every Saturday).
      I think the ones from São Miguel that are yet to be uploaded will be in Sete Cidades, the Boca do Inferno viewpoint, a Pineapple plantation in Fajã de Baixo, Congro Lake, Lagoa, and Nordeste, as well as another video from Ponta Delgada. There's also another video from Criação Velha on Pico island, and one from Praia Formosa on Santa Maria.
      There's a link in the video description to a map of the walks. I think I even got ahead of myself, and may have already put a few walks there that are not yet up here on TH-cam... XD
