- Our first impressions of Portugal!
We landed in Ponta Delgada on São Miguel Island, the capital of the Azores archipelago of Portugal. We explored the city, learned about its history, and tasted some traditional Portuguese food. We couldn't wait to explore more of the island, with our rental car. Stay tuned for the next episode in our Portugal series!

It will be good to hear you speaking Portuguese again. Like from Brazil! Longing
So... keju, Indonesian word for cheese, comes from Queijos. The Portuguese come to Indonesia in the 16th century trading spices.
👌
we traveled the whole world ;)
Even some Japanese words come from Portuguese 😁
I was there about 15 years ago, one of the most magnificent places i've ever visited. I'm not a big pineapple fan & i still remember the ones from there. So many things to see & do there. Tea plantations, botanical garden, whale/dolphin watching, Thermal baths & so much more. Enjoy your trip ❤
A Vasco shirt seems like an excellent choice to walk around Portugal. But in the future you should buy a jersey from a Portuguese team - or even from the national squad, which is one of the most beautiful in my opinion. Hope to see you guys walking around the Portuguese mainland soon enough!
Eles fizeram muitos aqui 😎
Golden tip: the best/traditional restaurants don't have menu with food pictures.
and half of the restaurants for tourists is just a rip off lol
Awesome video
Canadian Portuguese who went to Sao Miguel last year
Loved it
Furnas is beautiful
Villa Franca Ilha beach beautiful sete Cidades
Loved loved loved it
ENJOY
can’t wait for your roadtrip around the island!!
Welcome to Azores. Enjoy our paradise
Recommed a thermal bath, a natural one by the ocean, Ponta de Ferraria. Amazing experience! The best memory from my visit to Azores quite some time ago.
It is great to see you telling some Portuguese history and connecting to the places that you visited in Brazil !
You both are the most carismatic travelers in the world 😊
Muito bommm!! Abraços ao querido casal daqui do Brasil!! 😊🇧🇷
So glad you visited Finland. I now get to enjoy your adventures all over the world. 👏
You should definitely stay in Portugal until the first 2 weeks of June , and go to Lisbon to see the craziest street parties of your lives
Next time… continental Portugal! You may not want to leave. 🇵🇹
Thank you for pronouncing the ‘s’ sound properly.
Food in Portugal is most definitely regional!
Olá, from Ottawa 😃
Portugal is amazing Country!
The bifanas soaked in sauce are typical from Portugal mainland, here in São Miguel we dont do it this way. If you want a really good bifana in São Miguel find a Bifana/Hotdog kart in the street downtown near the marina and buy one there. Usually these are great!
Happy that you liked my country 😄
What a video!!! 10 stars!!!
Oh my goodness!! Mouth watering here! I want that fish!
Nice to see you guys in Portugal.
When are you coming back to Brazil? Maybe when the baby is born and is allowed to travel. Tell me, please!
Thank you so much for your video. Enjoyed all the Nova stuff that you guys encountered. Great job
Portugal! Looking forward to your Portugal vlogs!
Blessings from Romania! ✌️ Have fun, beautiful family. 💃🕺
You nailed it with the Vasco jersey 😄
So excited to visit Azores next month! Thank you guys for sharing your experience, such an entertaining vlog!
Wonderful video! I have seen hundreds of Azores videos and I really enjoy this one a lot.
simply Vasco da Gama regatta club niceeee
Muito bom !!!😂😂😂
São Jorge Cheese (Portuguese: Queijo São Jorge) is a semi-hard to hard cheese, produced on the island of São Jorge, in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. After try STEW OF THE FURNAS BOILERS. Cozido das Furnas is one of the most emblematic and typical dishes of São Miguel Island
If you go to the continente in the june month you will find it easily in the "festas populares" like in lisbon (st.António) or porto ( S.João ).
I Azore it! ❤
Love it Zaky!! 😊
Why "z"? "Ç" in Portuguese has the sound of "ss", so Açores has the sound of "Assores"
The band that you saw is university students, trying to make a few bucks for their graduation party. You see this all over Portugal, this time of year. And great to see you on the Azores. A place where I have been living and working for many many months over the past 14 years 🙂
Lovely video
20:00 Vasco da Gama was a Portuguese sailor. You wear a Brazilian soccer "Vasco da Gama" team shirt.
The team was named after him!
@@guiantony Sim.
What a beautiful place, and lots of delicious food! 😋😁 Have a great time! 😊
Hi…enjoying the São Miguél video. I hope you’re also going to Terçeira? 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Happy travel ❤❤
Famous for Bacalhau Assado no Forno and of course try to find homemade chorizo
Chouriço ou chouriça
The first time I had Chorizo was when I was working in Macau, They just brought to the table with a deep dish fill with some alcohol and lit it, once the flame goes off, you can dig in. Of course in 1997 Macau was still a Portuguese colony
You must try the famous Porto Caralho! They are small but spicy, and easy to find from almost every street corner.
Bifanas de Vendas Novas
Porto bifanas is just a copy 🤣🤣 they are garbage
porto is for francesinhas the rest sucks ass,
and they call sneakers "ballet shoes" LOOL
the freest feeling I have ever felt in my life. forget about sightseeing, just role to the nature spots...
4:42 Muikku! (=Vendace I guess according to google translate)
Yes vendace! Ah, I actually said this in the video, but it was a long section where we were not sure of the answer. You might notice the cut in the video around then. But yes, vendace!
I love traveling with you guys! Even better seeing Steve wearing a Vasco Jersey! Hugs from Brazil. And Vascoooo!!!
You are lovely, love your travel blogs😊
14:53 - Lol, that's the name of the founder of the factory where that cheese is made (Manuel Canada), it has nothing to do with your country. 😄
Amazing Island to visit
You gotta visit Terceria Island and the rest of the 9 Islands of The Acores islands
First time here with you guys lm going to wait to see if u go to my birth place Sete Cidades ❤️🇨🇦
I love Azores!!! 😍
São Miguel is a nice town, but is a bit provincial.
Another portuguese Atlantic Island, called Madeira, is more cosmopolitan and it's capital, Funchal, is more interesting to visit some time.
Vasco!!
We got our Portuguese water dog Lola from here 😀
I Love Azores, Ponta Delgada ❤️
Muito bom chicharrinhos
beautiful
I will excuse the portuguese . But caipirinha is only the one made with cachaça and lemons . That one would be a caipixi . Big kisses , sweets .
I think they are trying to cash in on Brazilian tourists
Wow. Can meet up with travelgrammers!!!
Mashallah, Ivana has the same healthy appetite!
If you think that Ponta Delgada Azores is amazing........... than try to visit Funchal, Madeira Islands (the other Portuguese archipelag) that i'm pretty sure that you will love even more !!!!!
AÇORES !
Am I missing something? They are pronouncing "Azores". As a Portuguese speaker I thought it should sound "Assores"
@@guiantony
Yes, definitely : the right pronunciation is "Açores" with a 'c' and not à "z".
😍
What is the difference between "Pretty good right" and "Pretty good no" must be a Canadianism no?
For me pretty good right? and pretty good no? are synonymous. Not sure if it is a Canadian thing or not... maybe more Canadian would be pretty good eh?
Wonder if the travelgramers is in Portugal
Meteu a peita do Vasco da Gama
Guys, the name of town is "Açores" the "ç" in Portuguese is read as "ss" so "Assores"
Tommorow is Kaamatan festival day in Sabah, Malaysia. Are you guys still choose beauty pageant from Papar 🤣🤣
Hello, how are you . When you eat the fish you have to remove the bones, you can get sick with bones in your throat, and the garlic sauce is put on top of the fish, it is much tastier, the stones, it was the Portuguese who took them to Brazil, when Brazil was a colony of Portugal, try eating the super delicious Portuguese cozido from Furnas
Come back to Brazil
Enjoy my island 👌👌👌🇧🇪
I wish i knew you were there so i could send you my AZ TERRA VIVA shirts ( EARTH ALIVE) and soon you will find out why by the way its busy season so its going to be a bit pricey
Should’ve been in Czechia for the finals
Savage on those bones :P
But there is another variation that are the big ones
❤️🇨🇦👍
Tem Vasco, tem like
There is another chesse store principe dos queijos
Not makrell... stickleback 😊😊😊 chicharro!
o único vascaíno que é feliz
the sausage is made of blood
Boudin
Morcela
Vasssco!
Bifanas you have to go to Porto they make that best
The only happy vasco supporter 😂😂
When they are small o can eat the head!
Ivana you look cute with lots of freckles on yr cheeks. take care.
Are you wearing a Vasco da Gama t-shirt ? I dont understand
vasco da gama was a portuguese sailor (but don't know steve knew it haha), the soccer team was named after him ... , besides being a brazil's soccer jersey
The history of Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama begins in 1898, the year of its foundation in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Although it was an association initially founded due to the practice of rowing, over time it added several new sports and is currently one of the most popular and traditional multi-sport entities in Brazil and South America.

Romanian Caș ~ Cheese
Don't pronounce Azores as "Azoresh" in English, that's incorrect. AZORES is the English word and it's pronounced either "Ay-zors" (North American way) or "Uh-zors" (British way). In Portuguese we say AÇORES (pronounced Uh-sorush).
Looks like all you did in this video was eat.
The cheese seller is very stingy, he doesnot want to give the customer 1 plastic bag
No one should be giving plastic bags out anymore!!! Bring your own shopping bags!
@@rbenjamin1429 Plastic bags pay tax and are paid for. How to reduce your use
