I am in the process of researching my trip to azero and your vlog is the best i have found on youtube. Most travel bloggers go for lots of drone shot which might look nice on a video but it is not an in-person experience. Actually informative. To the point. Short and not loaded with long hair blown the wind! 😅😅😅 thanks!

My mother & her family were from Furnas. I took her back after 60 years - it was a real treat for her - she marveled at the fact there were now roads & cars all over the island 😆 She showed me the tea farm where her mother would go pick tea and dry it in the open air and the calderas where they would cook Sunday dinner. We went to the spa and drank the iron water from the natural fountain. Amazingly we met up with old family friends - women my mother went to grade school with - while walking along the main road in Furnas and also in Ribeira Grande, where one of her grandmothers lived. The new owner even let my mother come inside and see how it had changed. Her other grandmother lived in the middle of Furnas in the house with the 3 Bicas (3 faucets). There used to be a large trough in front where people would water their horses - I noticed it is no longer there - and across from the botanical garden there was a stream with a small bridge named after my grandfather called Ponte de Sr. Elias. I hope to take my husband there soon to see how amazing the island is. Great video ♥

Excellent Video...My ex and I had booked a week-long trip to the Azores; we loved everything about it; the natural beauty was just surreal. Anyway, we ended up extending our stay to one month. These Islands were unnoticed despite being in the middle of the Americas and Europe. Tourism is booming over there. However, I would caution people that getting a car rental is almost impossible to find in the summer. What worries me is that now that the Azores has been "discovered," it might interfere with the natural beauty I can honestly admit I have never seen.

Shhhhhh 🤫 the Azores is a secret! There are nine islands - if you want running of the bulls and fun, fun, fun, go to Terceira.. S Miguel is beautiful, great shopping … São Jorge natural beauty, hiking, deep sea fishing…Faial go during sea week, sign the wall, see the volcanic eruption of 1957-1958 … Pico is about whale watching, dolphins, wine and it’s late July fair weekend … the others are really tiny! Great video ❤

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to go to logo da fogo. I'm not sure if it is just a busy season thing, but you cannot drive up to it between the hours of 9am and 7pm in a rental car. They force you to take a your bus if you want to. Also, any of the hotsprings nearby it, in the summer months, will one hundred percent be "sold out" unless you want to go WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY later in the day, so buy ahead. Furnas is an absolute disaster to drive around in the summer months with all the tourist parked all over the place and wandering the streets not paying attention like zombies. The big botanic garden there is also under construction in a lot of parts currently.

    • @ryanmolloy5421

Oh, also, Google maps fancied us rally drivers on our trip. It would sometimes take us down one ways the wrong way, down narrow dirt roads with blind curves, and sometimes just straight up not the right way. We were at the viewpoint of the rei and wanted to go to that traditional sete lookout that everyone raves about, it took us all the way down the mountain and around and back up, when I reality it was just down the mountain about 2 minutes and back up the other way about 5. So try and plan all your directions ahead of time if you can.
