I don't understand why James claims that the Spirit cannot give consideration to His equality with the Father @12:54. Why would the Spirit be unable to consider His equality with the Father?
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. - Philippians 2:5-8 Because Christ took on the body and nature of man, and because Scripture says Christ did this. This is the first time I've heard that Moses was translated up to Heaven. "So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD, and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows the place of his burial to this day." Deuteronomy 34:5-6. Have I missed another passage in scripture on this?
Right, I paused the video when he said this to go look it up. Not sure how he comes to this conclusion. Apparently Jude 1:9 is used to support this but I don't see it.
The idea of Moses' translation may have originated in Jewish tradition, which developed after the time of the Old Testament. For example, the Jewish historian Josephus, writing in the first century AD, described Moses' death in his Antiquities of the Jews, but also added a story that Moses' body had been taken up into heaven by angels. Other Jewish writings from the same period, such as the Assumption of Moses, also include stories about his translation.
From whose book was Dr. White reading? If he has mentioned the author on the DL, I forgot. I would like to know so that I may keep an eye out for that author in my Reformed Baptist church.
In Php 2:6 when it says Jesus 'was in the form of God', the Greek word 'morphe' is used on another occasion which sheds more meaning on it. It is in Mr 16:12 when Jesus walked with the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and it says, 'he appeared in another form'. Here Jesus was still Jesus but obviously resembled someone else. His features appeared differently for them to not recognise him. So, being in the form of God would mean that he had the appearance or resemblance of God. But, Jesus obviously just looked like a normal man, so what does it mean? Well, it's possible to resemble someone in action as well as in physical appearance, and this is the way Jesus resembled his father. He perfectly manifested God's character and behaviour. At the same time he had the form of a servant, which is the word 'morphe' again. In the same way he resembled his father, he also resembled a servant. He displayed the characteristics and actions of a servant. He humbled himself and acted as a servant acts. With humility he served his brethren, showing them the character of his father, and doing his father's works for their benefit, to the point of laying down his own life.

In Php 2:7 Jesus took upon him the form of a servant. A servant's form only differs from another by his clothing and behaviour. So, Jesus wasn't becoming someone else, but he was manifesting the behaviour of a servant. In the same way, being in the form of God didn't make him God, neither did it change his appearance, but it meant that he perfectly manifested God's behaviour and character. He did the works of his father, because his father had put his spirit in him without measure. Jesus was the first man to perfectly manifest the character of God. He was the human son of Mary, the first begotten human son of God, who was given immortality and exalted only when his father raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand.

Jesus the son is not eternal, The Word is eternal. (Who then became Jesus Christ) Psalm 119:89 (NIV): "Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." John 1:14 (NIV): "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 17:5 (NIV): "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." (Eternal)
Have you traded your first love of God's word for the Summa Theologiae? Far too many young men in God's church are trading in their first love of Scripture for the vaunted label of Thomism/Classicalism, though they would never admit it. These young men are eagerly forming holy huddles within huddles and invest their time into carving out divisions and anathematizing their brothers in the faith. These young men, as James said, don't do a lick of evangelism because honestly their vocabulary can no longer communicate the simple good news of the word, good news I might add that the esteemed Aquinas missed entirely! This all coming from somebody who has been greatly blessed by so many years of church tradition, of wonderful insights from church fathers, and many great creeds that affirm our biblical doctrines. But that won't matter to them, you could be the most rigidly enthusiastic Christian of the reformed stripe, but if you disagree with Thomistic divine simplicity you're instantly a damnable heretic. Simple truths, such as the sufficiency of Scripture, which does not need a lick of Aristotelian metaphysics to be understood, is rarely promoted by these young men. The Lord Jesus had a lot of things to say about men who were so in love with their holy traditions they begin to violate the word of God. You don't need Thomas Aquinas. You don't need his or Aristotle's philosophy. You don't need to follow men so desperately eager to venture beyond where the headlights of Scripture shine. You need to stand on the Word of God as your ACTUAL foundation, because it's the only thing that will remain standing.
Hi, tritheism would be 3 gods, whereas trinitarianism is 1 God. Further, trinitarianism is 1 God with 3 persons, 3 persons with one divine essence or ousia. There are three co equal and co eternal persons who share in the one Being of God whom we call Yahweh.
The Spirit that the Father and Son share is not another god/person, but is the Lord God Himself, (a Spirit): 2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV *_Now the Lord is that Spirit:_* ... Acts 5:4,9 KJV Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? … *_thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God._* [9] Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt *_the Spirit of the Lord?_* … 2Cor 3:17 *_Now the Lord is that Spirit:_* ... No Trinity (Duality only) John 10:30 NASB95 I and the Father are one." God and the Word - O.T. Father and the Son - N.T. Two who are one in a holy union. The image of God: Male and female. Two who are one in a holy union.
"Another god/person"? Which one is it?? You already exhibit confusion....Moreover, 2 Cor. 3 is not teaching theology proper - so your claim of "duality" is simply fallacious....Furthermore, the same writer, in 1 Corinthians 2:10-12, describes a distinction between the Spirit and God the Father, and implies the Spirit is omniscient...So, your attack on strawman is refuted.
Jesus was an anointed little g God. ..... Judges were called gods... See Psalm 82...... Some say Jesus was God in the flesh so if thats true can God die ? Does God pray to another God? Can God be tempted with sin? Does God sleep??? Scripture says NO to all these.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you." (John 16)
And yet, for all the creeds, treatises, books, and sermons for nearly two millennia, still the concept and doctrine of the Trinity is confusing and problematic. Is it any wonder that many Christians find Islam's concept of god more approachable, even if it's rife with its own problems. If the god of the Bible - much less any religion - were true, one would think that such a god would make sure that its message was easy to understand and accept and not confusing across cultures and languages. One person's exegesis is another's eisegesis. Is it any wonder that there are thousands of denominations and all of them proclaim to be the right or best one. Is it any wonder that there are hundreds, if not thousands of religions. A loving, eloquent god, allowing his creation to be confused and come to their own determination about it seems unwise.
For all the talk about divine simplicity and logic in apologetics, all that goes out the window when explaining the Trinity. Why not just describe God in a better way?
@@ChristopherChavez it might be impossible. First, due to evidence that the Bible is wholly man-made, thus not reliable as god's word. Second, due to the clearly complicated nature of what the Trinity is supposedly. The early church wrangled with the doctrine for centuries including how to define and describe it. That speaks volumes right there.
All those denominations affirm Christ's deity. The cults that do not, use extra biblical accounts to establish doctrine. No Christians finds the quran god more approachable, perhaps you worship a finite creation you can fully comprehend as he is made in your own image instead of vice-versa?
To say that the doctrine of the trinity is FALSE is like saying that "the emperor has no clothes". It's ABSOLUTELY SURE that the doctrine of the trinity is FALSE for the simple reason that Jesus says and reiterates in all four gospels, in all different ways, that He is ONLY WITH THE FATHER. According to the doctrine Jesus should ALWAYS SAY He is in a CLOSE UNION with TWO other divine persons, but He NEVER says that! The evidence is thus there AS BIG AS A MOUNTAIN: it stands exactly IN FRONT OF YOUR NOSE. Hence, the Holy Spirit CANNOT be a THIRD divine Person because there are only TWO divine Persons: the Father and the Son. The "Holy Spirit" is the Father once again, this time in form of a spirit "God is a spirit" (Jn. 4:24).
Jesus was an anointed little g God. ..... Judges were called gods... See Psalm 82...... Some say Jesus was God in the flesh so if thats true can God die ? Does God pray to another God? Can God be tempted with sin? Does God sleep??? Scripture says NO to all these.
But here is the place where you are wrong. Jesus was fully man and fully God. He could do both. It's like having dual citizenship. He has access to the rights of the Earth and the rights of heaven.
I have a lot of respect for James White and many Trinitarian Christians, but I am truly sad that they are so stuck in this doctrine and attach so much importance to it, even making it "essential" for salvation to believe and confess the Trinity 😕 Scripture says we are to confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour and follow Him to be saved. Not a word about the trinity, or a confession that he is his own Father Yahweh. If they could just remove their traditions and what they have been "trained" to believe is the Scripture teaching on this subject, they could see that Yahweh's Word does NOT in any way teach that He and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are one and the same person, or that Jesus was "fully" God and at the same time "fully" man or that they with the Holy Spirit, are three co equal co eternal persons in some one "godhead" The whole thing screams of man made tradition and Satanic ingenuity. Yahweh is not the God of confusion and yet not one Trinitarian can intelligently explain the trinity or understand it. But to understand that Yahweh is the ONE true God and the Father, that Jesus Christ is His unique Son and the Messiah, who alone was perfect, holy harmless undefiled, separate from sinners as a perfect MAN, that these two are separate beings, only Yahweh being uncreated and eternal, and that the Holy Spirit is the power of both Yahweh, and since his resurrection and ascension, our Lord Jesus which they use to work and influence us is very clear and easy to comprehend It is very clear Yahweh is the ONLY true God and Jesus is His unique Son, firstborn Son, but still created, altogether unique and above every other angelic or human Son of God. And since His Resurrection given a nature and status much higher than he had previously as the Logos or Word, the Angel of Yahweh. You all know the Scriptures and so I have refrained from quoting them. I am in a minority position myself, because of all Christological views, myself and some few others of my brethren hold to the teaching that not only is Jesus NOT Yahweh, but unlike Trinitarians and unlike some nontrinitarian, JW and Bible Students etc, we do not believe that Scripture teaches Jesus had any part in creating anything, but that Yahweh ALONE created everything Himself, not BY Jesus or through him, but FOR or ON Account of him. Based on the translation of the preposition dia translated in the accusative case form. Much to be said but I will leave that to others to study and prove 🙏

The stupidity of this incoherent babbling (they call the trinity) will send MANY to the Lake of Fire. 💯 Real talk
One comity god
3 gods in the comity
3 gods
Moses was Not Translated, "he died and was buried", even "by GOD". What Brother White said happens to be.. Buckle up ..a Mormon teaching. Duet 34 also tells Us that He Died [by The LOGOS] at the Word of YHWH, "GOD [HIMSELF] Buried Him in a Secret Place!
But, We Know it was a mistake. (the comment about Mosha translation). Allll LOVE Big Brother
Jesus the son is not eternal, The Word is eternal. (Who then became Jesus Christ)
Psalm 119:89 (NIV):
"Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens."
John 1:14 (NIV):
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 17:5 (NIV):
"And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." (Eternal)
Very knowledegable but completely devoid of the Holy Ghost.
Is this not just affirming tritheism?
Hi, tritheism would be 3 gods, whereas trinitarianism is 1 God. Further, trinitarianism is 1 God with 3 persons, 3 persons with one divine essence or ousia. There are three co equal and co eternal persons who share in the one Being of God whom we call Yahweh.
The Father is Yahweh, the Son is Yahweh, and the Spirit is Yahweh. However, there are not 3 Yahwehs.
Yes, absolutely tritheism
@@christophermorton7680 this does not reflect the definition of tritheism
The Spirit that the Father and Son share is not another god/person, but is the Lord God Himself, (a Spirit):
2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
*_Now the Lord is that Spirit:_* ...
Acts 5:4,9 KJV
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? … *_thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God._*
[9] Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt *_the Spirit of the Lord?_* …
2Cor 3:17 *_Now the Lord is that Spirit:_* ...
No Trinity (Duality only)
John 10:30 NASB95
I and the Father are one."
God and the Word - O.T.
Father and the Son - N.T.
Two who are one in a holy union.
The image of God:
Male and female.
@@JeffSmith-it4tm Jesus had a human nature
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you." (John 16)
The Father, the Son AND the Holy Spirit
Or we just have bad teachers.....
@@Chrisg78901 for 2000 years. 😂
What a waste of my time.
This is more of a creed talk than a biblical one. interesting and false
What do you mean by that?
Jesus was an anointed little g God. ..... Judges were called gods... See Psalm 82...... Some say Jesus was God in the flesh so if thats true can God die ? Does God pray to another God? Can God be tempted with sin? Does God sleep??? Scripture says NO to all these.
But here is the place where you are wrong. Jesus was fully man and fully God. He could do both. It's like having dual citizenship. He has access to the rights of the Earth and the rights of heaven.
Yet scripture teaches what you claim to be true is false and what you claim to be false is true
Be quiet James. They want their idol and bacon bits.
My channel has a playlist - “is Jesus God?” - it answers all your questions and refutes the idea that Jesus is “a god”. Watch if you dare, Jeff.
You're teaching polytheism?
But to understand that Yahweh is the ONE true God and the Father, that Jesus Christ is His unique Son and the Messiah, who alone was perfect, holy harmless undefiled, separate from sinners as a perfect MAN, that these two are separate beings, only Yahweh being uncreated and eternal, and that the Holy Spirit is the power of both Yahweh, and since his resurrection and ascension, our Lord Jesus which they use to work and influence us is very clear and easy to comprehend
It is very clear Yahweh is the ONLY true God and Jesus is His unique Son, firstborn Son, but still created, altogether unique and above every other angelic or human Son of God.
Much to be said but I will leave that to others to study and prove 🙏
what do you think LORD means? Unless you believe that I AM you will die in your sins.
