Just Cause 2 has a certain amount of charm to it that’s unmatched. It had a simpler grapple hook setup, a more diverse map, and I prefer this version of Rico’s character model than the others. But something about the way it felt as a game was great. The cars handled wonderfully compared to 3 and 4.
Agree with everything except the car handling at least on PC. Whenever you let go off the directional button the car will have a slight residual turn as the wheels recenter. This made the driving feel unresponsive and annoying. The bikes were fun so it was easy to default to them.

Theres a video of a person playin on 4k on that jungle scene..... n it looks terrible my eye was actually twitchin. I could barley concenrate on what was going on. Just cause 4 is downgraded... pretty drastically.

Final Fantasy XV took 10+ years, and that was still rushed because the story was incomplete and combat, while very fun to watch, felt lazy with the controls. But, XV also experienced many changes with the developer while it was being made
The only negatives about JC2 are that it's extremely difficult to drive, you are very slow without the windshield and the engine sounds & the explosions. btw, yes, JC2 it is doing better than JC4
Ofc its doing better. Most peoples first Just Cause game was JC2. And after they removed some features in JC3 and generally focused more on explosions and stuns rather then combat. People got mad. It also didn't help that JC3's map was boring or that the game run bad. And now when they released JC4 people where disappointed with the graphics and it had/has bugs. So yes JC4 is doing worse then JC2 its because JC2 for 2010 was a masterpiece. And still is, in my eyes today good. If I am honest tho I like JC3 the most. Even if this game has many problems I just like to fly above Medeci with my wingsuit and beautiful music in the background. But if there is something that I like in JC2 more then in every other JC game are the weapons. They feel very satisfying to use. Just Cause 3' auto shotgun feels like a windgun.

JC4 gives you no incentive to destroy anything. In JC2, you can't even progress to the next story mission without destroying enough things across the map's bases!

Still No Sprint,Dodge and Crouch mechanics These are the things me personally loved in previous titles and they removed the sprint,dodge and crouch in jc 3 and the rest in jc 4 with some replaced. I get it if its not loved by the majority cus they are just simple little things but nobody asked to removed them either,its not like they are game breaking or anything..if anything the devs should have worked more on upgrading the stuff they removed instead of just taking it away,especially C4....its universally loved by fans and they removed it.why ? JC4 is a Downgrade in terms of technical standpoint..its still fun but its nowhere near as good as jc 3 and great as JC2 JC2 for life...
agree,especially Sprint,Dodge and Crouch mechanics,it really sucks when u cant crouch because several times we could have saved ourselves if these were not removed.

Something that I'll always love Just Cause 2 for is its variety in locations and environments. Mountains, deserts and jungles added to the appeal of being in a massive open world. For all that it improved upon, JC3 was boring to me because the entire world was just a big italian island of grass and dirt. So while JC4 is a very broken and visually unappealing game that I'll avoid buying until its problems are addressed with patches, I'm more than happy to see its world showcase the variety that JC2 had

Just Cause 2 is one of the best Open World Sandbox Games out there. I expected a lot from Just Cause 4 but, the reality is that the series has gone downhill after Just Cause 2. The next game should do something revolutionary and should not be rushed af like Just Cause 4. If the DEVS can't do this, they should stop making Just Cause games once and for all.
Yea JC3 was actually pretty good and they introduced the wing suit might I add. The only way I can even play JC2 anymore is if I download a mod just to get back that wingsuit
Id argue that the only good thing about JC3 was the wingsuit and the graphics. Everything else was subpar, the map was weak, the easter eggs were weak, the textures were repeated over and over, the physics were shit because anytime you try to do anything fun with the tether it just doesnt work, the music was EXTREMELY weak in comparison to the second game's iconic soundtrack. The rebel drop system was fine though I guess, its definitely better than Chaos, but I liked that Chaos gave you an incentive to destroy things, even JC4 has Chaos, but it's pretty much useless in that game so it doesnt matter.
JC3 was pretty good but I don't think it had the same appeal that JC2 had. The story mission had sick set pieces which JC3 seriously lacked, the map in JC3 was basically just copy and pasted exluding the snow area, and jc2 had a way more diverse and what felt like a larger map because of it. I think overall was much better and looked a lot nicer
the reasons why most of old games have better details is probably because their graphics werent so demanding, so there's more space to add details, whereas modern games seem to focus more on improving graphics, so they kinda take away some of the small details in order to make the games not too demanding
I've nearly finished JC4 and it was quite fun but the only real improvements were alt fire for guns (loved this) and the tornado. I guess the framerate was more stable but I've never really cared about that. A lot of stuff was changed that didn't need changing and I hope they learn from it.
And they said they are using some very high tech physics engine for this game. Screw this I'm pirating this. I'm not supporting these constant downgrades these developers are putting up.

Just Cause 4 was not too bad until you start driving a ship, then you notice that all water physics have been removed. The water from JC2 anc JC3 is just amazing.

they had to make it run on underpowered console hardware, and were forced to release it before it was finished, so they cut down on PC exclusive graphics options and higher settings. At least, that's the most widely believed theory.

Just cause 2 is miles better. It was the game which really got me hooked. It's just miles better in a majority of aspects. It was released in 2010 and has better graphics. Come on, the developers here are being lazy and aren't even making anything better.
I have thousands of hours on the multiplayer mod of JC2, over 700 hours on the survival / build your own base server. The map is so huge and the forest so dense that you could build a base under the tree cover and chances are no one would ever find it. Good times.
A good portion of the effects and environments were made with the goal of realism, which removes from the action movie flare you might expect from a game like this. Then there are things that are just goofy like the bullets rippling against the road as if it were covered in a force field.
No one cares about a few tornados and sand storms if the graphics for everything else in the game are garbage. Easily worse looking game in the last half decade
I would have to agree and I know most people are going to chew me up, but look at the lighting in JC2 it's all one level in 3 there is variation. Also the December patch is coming to fix water texture so I think ppl need to stop freaking out
This makes me wanna fire up JC2 again with the first person mod as well as grapple mods. Lots of great mods for JC2. Perhaps the modders will fix the problems with JC4.

The deal is JC games went downhill with 3 and in the dumpster with 4. I enjoyed 3 but 4 was uninstalled after playing early game and realizing they spent 99% of their budget on "explodey bridges and tanks". The missions are repetitive and dull. Empty worlds and cars that handled like you were using a 2005 laptop touchpad. In JC2 you could lose hours exploring the map, in 3 and 4 once I saw one hill and one town I saw it all. In JC2 you had missions like Fry me to the moon that were unique and epic. Fighting the president on a nuke and sending him on it. Your character was cool and indifferent, badass. JC3 and 4 basically you're some emotional boy who tries to be the good guy in some half assed story with no complexity. Goes against the literal usage of "Just Cause".
@@cosmic_gate476 I have fun but it was repetitive and the easiest of the franchise(which was the biggest disappointment in comparison to 3 which I believe was pretty hard, frustrating at times). ...3 was amazing but 4 brought some interesting things to the table. ...the franchise won't be competed with a reset at the end of the game... tired of getting all the stuff unlocked just to have next to no enemies. We need a reset that starts the game over with everything unlocked... would be so good! 🔥
By the way, in the second part, if you go into the snowy biome-on the shape of the rico you will see snow. And if you get out of the snowy biome, the snow will melt.
This is more common than people realize. From playing alot of back compat games, i see more animations in older games. Especially weapon holstering and reloads.
JC3 + WaveWorks still has the best water in any video game (not including pre-rendered solutions like the houdini effects in places like RoTR's Syria chapter.
I think the main problem with Just Cause 4 is that it was a smidge rushed, because of everyone saying “Just Cause 4, Just Cause 4! We want Just Cause 4” and look what we got🤷♂️. That might be a slight reason why it’s not as good as the others.
Just cause 2 has the most interesting and diverse map out of all the Just Cause games, felt like they actually cared about the world they created in that game

I remember downloading the demo for Just Cause 2 on PS3 and man what a game, never got the full game but the demo in itself was something.
I remember I got the full game after playing the demo alot. 7 yr old me was like "WOW SO MANY VEHICLES!"

Just Cause 2 is one of the best Open World Sandbox Games out there. I expected a lot from Just Cause 4 but, the reality is that the series has gone downhill after Just Cause 2. The next game should do something revolutionary and should not be rushed af like Just Cause 4. If the DEVS can't do this, they should stop making Just Cause games once and for all.

Id argue that the only good thing about JC3 was the wingsuit and the graphics.
Everything else was subpar, the map was weak, the easter eggs were weak, the textures were repeated over and over, the physics were shit because anytime you try to do anything fun with the tether it just doesnt work, the music was EXTREMELY weak in comparison to the second game's iconic soundtrack.
The rebel drop system was fine though I guess, its definitely better than Chaos, but I liked that Chaos gave you an incentive to destroy things, even JC4 has Chaos, but it's pretty much useless in that game so it doesnt matter.
JC3 was pretty good but I don't think it had the same appeal that JC2 had. The story mission had sick set pieces which JC3 seriously lacked, the map in JC3 was basically just copy and pasted exluding the snow area, and jc2 had a way more diverse and what felt like a larger map because of it. I think overall was much better and looked a lot nicer

the reasons why most of old games have better details is probably because their graphics werent so demanding, so there's more space to add details, whereas modern games seem to focus more on improving graphics, so they kinda take away some of the small details in order to make the games not too demanding

JC4 Water effect is from PS2 graphic department, PS3 for the reflection and texture.
I've nearly finished JC4 and it was quite fun but the only real improvements were alt fire for guns (loved this) and the tornado. I guess the framerate was more stable but I've never really cared about that. A lot of stuff was changed that didn't need changing and I hope they learn from it.
And they said they are using some very high tech physics engine for this game. Screw this I'm pirating this. I'm not supporting these constant downgrades these developers are putting up.

Just Cause 4 was not too bad until you start driving a ship, then you notice that all water physics have been removed. The water from JC2 anc JC3 is just amazing.
You know there's something calles performance right? Thats why there are no water physics, so the game doesn't crash like JC3

they had to make it run on underpowered console hardware, and were forced to release it before it was finished, so they cut down on PC exclusive graphics options and higher settings. At least, that's the most widely believed theory.

Just cause 2 is miles better. It was the game which really got me hooked. It's just miles better in a majority of aspects. It was released in 2010 and has better graphics. Come on, the developers here are being lazy and aren't even making anything better.

I have thousands of hours on the multiplayer mod of JC2, over 700 hours on the survival / build your own base server. The map is so huge and the forest so dense that you could build a base under the tree cover and chances are no one would ever find it. Good times.
I just missed the unlimited ammo in Just Cause 3 vehicles no fun with limited bullets and missiles.

A good portion of the effects and environments were made with the goal of realism, which removes from the action movie flare you might expect from a game like this.
Then there are things that are just goofy like the bullets rippling against the road as if it were covered in a force field.

JC2 was great but if you're a veteran on the franchise, you know what the deal is.
The deal is JC games went downhill with 3 and in the dumpster with 4. I enjoyed 3 but 4 was uninstalled after playing early game and realizing they spent 99% of their budget on "explodey bridges and tanks". The missions are repetitive and dull. Empty worlds and cars that handled like you were using a 2005 laptop touchpad. In JC2 you could lose hours exploring the map, in 3 and 4 once I saw one hill and one town I saw it all. In JC2 you had missions like Fry me to the moon that were unique and epic. Fighting the president on a nuke and sending him on it. Your character was cool and indifferent, badass. JC3 and 4 basically you're some emotional boy who tries to be the good guy in some half assed story with no complexity. Goes against the literal usage of "Just Cause".

I think the main problem with Just Cause 4 is that it was a smidge rushed, because of everyone saying “Just Cause 4, Just Cause 4! We want Just Cause 4” and look what we got🤷♂️. That might be a slight reason why it’s not as good as the others.
