Cool tank! Lovin the big rocks! You can strip the eggs from the female if you want. Use a pick-floss so you can avoid injuring the fish. Saw you in PvP Hungergames by the way. hehe
Beautiful! I got into African cichlids (mainly Tanganyikan) a few years ago. It was a wrench as, typically, the set up doesn't involve plants. However, I can't imagine going back to planted setups now. The simplicity of this kind of set-up has just hooked me.
Your tank looks beautiful! Mpangas would be perfect if you're after blues and yellows. They're similar in colour to the Demasoni but they have some yellow on their dorsal and tail. Btw, the females are the ones that hold the eggs in their mouths. At 1:55 you can kinda see the eggs in her mouth are still very yellow/eggy. You'll know they're ready if the babies start to look darker in her mouth. Probably another 2 weeks. All the best!
Love your tank! I just got a group of Saulosi recently for a species only tank, I am super excited for the male(s) to color up. It was certainly difficult to find them available though, but worth it!
Mbuna tanks are super fun! If you can find Labeotropheus fuelleborni or trewavasae, they are super cool and I think would compliment the yellow labs and demasoni well.
Finally, I've been looking forward to an update of the cichlid tank and here it is. I must say that adding them in makes the tank just pop. Next thing to look forward to is the additions of fish to it. 😄
I love this tank! Def. need more fish in the tank. Are you able to find the electric blue cichlids where you are? They are called Electric Blue Ahli. Those would look good.
They are stunning. I used to keep and breed them. Congratulations on the new Fish. The females are a little pale compared to the males. I appreciate you sharing. Thankyou very much. Take care. 👍🙂❤️
(Mbuna) the type of African cichlids I’ve got are rock dwellers. In the wild, they’re may be some plants in their habitat but usually it’s mostly rocks.
I have little to no experience owning fish and yesterday my mom brought home two electric cichlids because the aquarium at her workplace broke. Since it was not planned for us to get fish I dont even own the basics. Basically im looking for low a budget aquarium setup to begin with and advice regarding pH and water conditions. Actually this morning one of them died propably because of the shock or change in water??
Are they a crossed breed, like yellow lab and auratus which results in those black finage? If so, I think that will be the future look of the fry swimming in my community.
Yellow labs have always been one of my favourites I have a 55 gallon with about 30 yellow labs 2"-3.5" it's species only tank and I absolutely love it. And they will definitely breed alot leave the female with the others its alot better because she wont move at all in a tank by herself and will become much more weak also mine breed about once a month so be prepared for lots of fry.
Yeah, my yellow labs have been awesome. Growth has been a bit slow but I think it’s because I’m not feeding enough. I’ll definitely be trying to get them bigger. Fun fish, always swimming around :)
Malawi is the most sea like aquarium, but you don't have to pay attention on salinity, btw how is water in your area in Japan? My area has an high pH and GH (perfect for African Cichlids but not for most American Cichlids)
u just game a new idea to make a new tank and i have 3 in that house already haha bro love to watch what your doing i m up for the next video , i think with 12 cichlids would be enough becouse they can grow mutch bigger ,20 is to mutch don t over stock ,u can also see how mutch george farmer has in his tank an idea
Demasoni cichlids are a good choice but if I was you instead of getting the yellow labs I would’ve got a bunch of saulosi because then you get 2 different colours without having to get different species
AYO so the female cichlid drops her eggs and does the male fertilize them before or AFTER he picks them up? cause i hope bro doesnt come on his own face and then tastes it
I'd put the other one in their if indeed he/she is holding eggs. They will release the baby's if they feel it's safe to do so. Plus if the baby's feel threatened and their small enough they will hide back in the parents mouth.
Hi, can you help me cure my goldfish. She has lice on her tail and stay below my aquarium most of the time. I’ve tried using the methalyn blue and salt already but it doesnt work at all. I would like to try using antibiotics but dont know what kind becouse cant read and talk a little of japanese
I would not put to many fish in. Defently reserch Becouse some African cichlids can get big as you know. I'm a nano fish fan including madaka I currently have 13 madaka.
you can easily check if the fish is holding eggs. just gently hold the fish and look down the mouth. you will see that. Id be curious also coz yes your fish is too small to be sexually mature but on the other hand it could be also. just gently hold the fish and it will open its mouth you can see down easily
Listening to you call a holding female 'he' over and over again for the whole video was quite triggering for me. My yellow labs often start holding at around 4-5cm.
Can’t wait to get more fish into this tank!!

Yeah, it’s like taking a piece out of nature. Less maintenance too
@Ryo Watanabe Add Val! It's part of there natural habitat.
Had them before....they are awesome yellow Labidochromis. Great video...keep it up dude!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you so much ☺️
Such a beautiful tank. The fish are so bright and look very happy. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you :)
What size tank is this?

They look fab and fun to watch.
wow 😍 looking great 😍
Love the Mbuna aquarium. I would add a bristlenose pleco to help keep algae from getting out of control.
Hi, tank looks great Hongi or Acei would look good too
Yep, it’s sure looks like you gonna have another bunch of yellow Lab coming your way Ryo mate. Congratulations!😂
Love your tank! I just got a group of Saulosi recently for a species only tank, I am super excited for the male(s) to color up. It was certainly difficult to find them available though, but worth it!
Excellent my friend ♥️♥️💚💚👍👍
yes that fish is definitely holding, you'll see some babies swimming around soon
Mbuna tanks are super fun! If you can find Labeotropheus fuelleborni or trewavasae, they are super cool and I think would compliment the yellow labs and demasoni well.
I love electric yellows, I started with 12 now have about 50 😮
So cool. Look into Synodontis Petricola.
Yup! I really want a group of them but they’re not cheap here
Finally, I've been looking forward to an update of the cichlid tank and here it is. I must say that adding them in makes the tank just pop.
Next thing to look forward to is the additions of fish to it. 😄
Thank you so much!! I really hope I can find more cichlids to add to this tank :)
It's been such a long time bro.. Hope you doing well.. Nice set up simple and I like it..
This is awesome.
Love this tank! Can't wait to see more 😇🎉
Thank you :)
What type of rocks did u use for your cichlid tank and where did u get them.
if you can't find demasoni, psuedotropheus acei are a nice compliment to yellow labs
Can’t find those as well. But don’t they get quite big? I’ve seen kenyi’s for sale but I’m not a huge fan of them
What’s size is your tank. beautiful fish
Looks nice. It's better to put a lid on this tank. It'll be a nice combination to have those two types. Looking forward to see more of this tank.
Yup, I’ve got lids on this tank :) thank you!
tank looks great! love the hardscape. what size is it? TIA
Thanks! This is a 4x1.5x1.5ft tank
Very nice 👌 👍
African Cichlids can and do breed at that size. Congratulations you got Fry on the way.
Although I much more prefer planted tanks, I am loving this one!
They’re nice 👍 I’ve never kept them. They look great now they’ve acclimatised to their new surroundings
Yep! They are doing great :)
the rocks look massive - how'd you get them in? Is there a vid of the tank set up? Great job here.
This is the vid where I put the rocks in. Possible but not easy 😅
th-cam.com/video/9BehME3k900/w-d-xo.html
That light setup may be a bit too bright for them. Tank looks great
Any updates on these guys, i know they were holding in the last video i saw.
I love this tank! Def. need more fish in the tank. Are you able to find the electric blue cichlids where you are? They are called Electric Blue Ahli. Those would look good.
Thanks, yup electric blue ahlis are quite common here. But they get big!
They are stunning.
I used to keep and breed them.
Congratulations on the new Fish.
The females are a little pale compared to the males.
I appreciate you sharing. Thankyou very much.
Take care. 👍🙂❤️
Thank you for your support!!
@@RyoWatanabee My pleasure. 👍🙂❤️
I'm new in this kind of fish, like them and want to learn. The tank has only stones when you have cichlids?
(Mbuna) the type of African cichlids I’ve got are rock dwellers. In the wild, they’re may be some plants in their habitat but usually it’s mostly rocks.
Finallyyyyyyyy😂

Hi, just wanted to say that you have the same name as the boss of my favorite childhood game( NFS PROSTREET)
Are they a crossed breed, like yellow lab and auratus which results in those black finage? If so, I think that will be the future look of the fry swimming in my community.
black finnage is not uncommon on yellow labs
Yup, black fins are quite common on male yellow labs

@@RyoWatanabee domt worry about growth rate brother mine have been slow too there almost a year old now
@@RyoWatanabee just checked my yellow labs are just over a year at 3" so definitely on the small side i wouldn't worry
Can you put a jack dempsey with Mbuna?
I'm no expert but pretty sure the answer is no. Water parameters are different.
Malawi is the most sea like aquarium, but you don't have to pay attention on salinity, btw how is water in your area in Japan? My area has an high pH and GH (perfect for African Cichlids but not for most American Cichlids)
its the female that holds the eggs not the males.

I tried that twice. The fish mouth is too small, I could not see inside 😅
i just ate a box of old Mac and cheese and im gonna poop it out violently in about an hour..... ill be back
Listening to you call a holding female 'he' over and over again for the whole video was quite triggering for me. My yellow labs often start holding at around 4-5cm.
Bro please its a girl not a he
.male African chichlids don't hold the babies.
