There are a number of different sinking speeds in this series, so it does depend on how deep it is from the shore, but if the depth and sinking speed is right, then yes, they are very good from the shore.
Yes, sorry if that was not clear. You start with your usual looped on leader, but unlooping the leader would mean removing the flies and pulling the line back down through the rod guides, looping on the new leader, threading the rod back up and tying on all the flies again. For the sake of speed and ease, if you cut the leader off (and the loop at the back end), you can just use a clinch knot to tie the leader on to the loop in the fly line - leaving all the flies still attached and the rod threaded up. At the end of the day, you can cut the clinch knot off, and retie a perfection loop in your leader if you want your leader with a loop on again. Hopefully that makes a little more sense?

Dont understand, what's the reason for using a 10 ft rod for the hang? Are shorter rods not as effective because of distance from boat?
The longer rod gives more leverage for lifting the line off the water and carrying longer lengths of line.

Don’t understand when you cut the leader off. Is there not a loop to loop connection with the first reel. Aren’t you cutting the loop in the leader?
