Cars has been around for a long while. Stretched into many different forms. A movie, a sequel, a trilogy, the Planes spinoff, the tv series, probably more than that, and now yet another TV series over on DisneyPlus now with CARS ON THE ROAD! ...Yeah, that's where they typically are. So, as a whole new spinoff to the Cars universe, is it any good? Let's dive into each episode and dictate for ourselves...

McQueen, a professional racecar, gets into a nearly fatal accident by going just under 200 mph. But Mater, a rusty old tow truck, can break the sound barrier and crash without getting shattered to pieces? The plot armor is strong with this one.

Considering Lighting McQueen is a stock car that is finely tuned for racing in a tri-oval and not at all for economy cruising, I like to imagine in between episodes how frequently he has refuel compared to Mater. It gets a little more fun trying to imagine the bickering they would have.
Mater is also a lot older, with a motor that has lower compression and seemingly leaking exhaust. Not to mention he's a truck so aero is worse.
All things considered they probably have similar fuel economy.

This show is rather fine, as over the top as some of the episodes are, i do like how there's certain locations like Boneville Salt Flats, Circus Velocitas, The Badlands, and Mater's family home, that adds perspective to the World of Cars.
Its fun to see Lightning McQueen and Mater's chemistry expanded on.
Yo how come this series tells us that dinosaurs used to be all mechanical-like
But dinoco's symbol has a regular dinosaur with animal feet?
Maybe in the cars lore real life dinosaurs are like what dragons fairies and other mythical beasts
Maybe it was a stylistic choice, plus dinco never really originated in cars. It was a toy story so yeah

If I'm correct, I believe the first episode is the first time Pixar used lower frame rates if not 2nd with that Pixar short Purl. Purl and the other balls of yarn look like they have lower frame rate than the humans
It is supposed to simulate old school stop motion monster films. Which is a nice detail.
This series certainly had its flaws, but it was still a fun watch overall. I do hope they can do a bit more with season 2, though.
There’s also a few references to the Haunted Mansion in that hotel episode! Which is kinda funny since Owen Wilson is set to be in a movie based on the ride this year.
5:53 Thomas actually had a spin off about talking construction vehicles, but it was cancelled when HiT Entertainment bought the franchise, presumably because they already owned Bob the Builder. The spin off was called Jack and the Sodor Construction Company.

Honestly I’d love to see how motorbikes are used in the world. Are they animals like tractors or are they a different kind of racer? How are different bikes seen in the world (dirt bikes, sports bikes, Harley’s, scooters etc)
They’re deer in the universe. Well bicycles are, as their handles are antlers in cars 3.
I just accept that the Cars universe is just the human one but slightly different for cars
Honestly, I think that this is a really fun series! I dunno, its more fun than cars 2. Its nice to see how different cars do different things, and McQueen and Mater's relationship is so wholesome to me (minus cars 2), like when the pair first go tractor tipping, them laughing is just so, again, wholesome.

I like this spin-off it's wholesome, plus any new Cars contents is a win.
OK, so when Marvel and starwars do something that not only messes up with logic and physics but the lore no one bats an eye, but when cars does it, everyone loses their minds. OK then....

While the show has... issues by being WAY too over-the-top (haunted mansion episode), I think I gel with this show better than, let's say, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. Mainly because while the latter tries to be as distant from the movie series as possible with many absent movie characters, Cars on the Road reminds us that the characters we meet are all still there, even for one episode.
As for episode 3, I can see this as the culmination of McQueen's complete development from Cars 3. If this was Cars 3 Lightning, he would've WANTED to take the offer just to out-speed Storm, even if it's extremely stupid (and he was stupid already to play a mud derby).

I actually enjoyed this series.
I personally just look at this one as Mater's Tall Tales 2 - better in some aspects, worse in the others, overall just a light hearted series of fun episodes

How does McQueen crash in cars 3 and be completely fine but then when Mater crashed he dies! And let’s not forget the legend doc crashed as well but was fine. As well as the king in the first cars movie
its funny that you mentioned TRAINS, as that WAS to be a movie, and also METRO, a subway version of course, both were canceled.
Which makes their possible existence really depressing. Not able to move without tracks, and while trains can transport fuel and stuff... What would the metro be used for?
Episode 3 actually took reference from not a icy lake but a Salt Flat now you're probably wondering what is a Salt Flat a Salt Flat is a flat arid land mostly found in deserts and have a bunch of salt deposits the biggest one in the US I think is in Utah
Some of these are just overall wholesome! It’s not anything big but it is still nice!

I feel more work could of been done this 5-6/10 series of Shorts. Add foreshadowing to Getting Hitched/The Finale(Views of Maters Family, Cruz to Episode 3, give Ivy more Screen Time, Make the Trucks in Episode 6 a Band Called Trucks)
