I’m growing mums this year . They tell me to put down white rock or 57 rock . Is sand better? It sure is more cost effective! I have the injection system and all irrigation components but I would like to see how that works. Maybe to late for a video but still interested. I’m in Tennessee just above the Mississippi Alabama line zone 7B. Thanks Daniel
Hi, I appreciate your video! I am wondering if you can detail how many plugs you used, in which size pots? We used 3 in 9" pots last year and over all did not have a successful experience and hoping to have a better one this year. With this, which size pot is the most popular to plan for resale, from you experience? Do most like a certain size? Thanks so much!
Is the fertilizer injector absolutely necessary or can this be done by hand, if i can do it by hand, how often should i water with/without fertilizer and what’s the right ratio? Thanks in advance! Love your stuff
Im trying to see if i can regrow my mums from last year. Im in Illinois and purchased them early fall of last year and planted them in the ground quickly. Its been a pretty mild winter so hopefully they took. My question is, do i take off all of the dead plant to start new growth come spring?
❤❤❤ so when the flowers dry out do u need to cut them for the new buds or are they done for the season? I had mine for 2 months but are dry now. HELP??😢😢
Thank you for this video. I am wantingto grow mums for the fall farmers market next year. Can you please tell me exactly what varieties you grow? There's so many different kinds!
Hello….that was impressive! Thank you. Could you tell me how many mums you planted….and I was curious why did you space them so far apart? I figured maybe so you could drive thru them ? We don’t have that much space..I wonder if we could cozy them up some. Thank you very much for the info.
We plant around 1200. We space them far apart to allow room for growth. A 12inch mum will often have a 20 to 24 inch canopy. From my experience- growing them close together isn't ideal. Best of luck!
I feel like I'm still testing out varieties- it's only my second year growing them, so I feel like my experience is limited, but my absolute favorite last year was the 'Cheryl' mum familiy!
They are beautiful. Where do you get your plugs from? I am starting a backyard nursery and have been researching mums for the fall. Thanks for the info!
my friend I am located in zone 7 and I have a lot seed of my mums from last year on the fall .... what month can I star my seed so I can have my flowers on the fall for this year... can you help me I want a lot flowers for halloween
I don’t have experience doing this myself so I hesitate to give too much advice - but my instinct says that a dark shed should be fine. You’ll have to trial-and-error and let us know how it turns out!
Thank you! As for the fertilizer- I honestly just pick it up from our local co-op. Truly I buy just their basic 20-20-20 or 20-10-20 water soluble fertilizer.. whatever they have on hand, and whatever is cheapest! :)
Excellent video! Possibly the best content of all the mum videos I've watched.

Questions:
Where do you get your drip system parts from?
How do you 'turn off' your drip lines after the plant has been sold?
Oh my goodness. Can you explain the fertilizer system a bit more. So interesting.
Yes, please!!
Great video! Did you have to get a nursery license to sell the mums?
You can keep the plant viable in a green house year after year, I have a couple mum's that are about 5 years old now in clay pots. :)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
this is a great video. i bet your fingers are sore after connecting all that drip line!!
Yes they are ;)

What is the composition of the soil? Potting soil only or do you add compost and vermiculite or peat

Thank you for this video. I am wantingto grow mums for the fall farmers market next year. Can you please tell me exactly what varieties you grow? There's so many different kinds!
I love this video. What type of soil did you use? Where did you buy it? Thanks!
It's a simple potting mix that we are able to order in bulk from our local grower's co-op. Truly nothing fancy, just whatever drains easily.

This is awesome. I am hoping to add mums next year. Do you mix your own soil for potting?
Glad it was helpful 💛 No, we do not mix our own soil. We just buy it from our local co-op.

Could I take my mum pots and put them in the shred for the winter or do they need light when domant? Great informative video.
I don’t have experience doing this myself so I hesitate to give too much advice - but my instinct says that a dark shed should be fine. You’ll have to trial-and-error and let us know how it turns out!
