Thanks for watching! The pre-emergent spray won't affect the pumpkin seeds as long as we spray close to the time of planting. It's all about timing- as long as we're mindful of spraying close to planting- everything is good :)
What crop(s) had been grown in that field prior to the pumpkins? Will you move the pumpkin patch to a different field in 2023? Does the post-plant herbicide require rainfall soon after application to control the weeds? Sorry for all the questions, but it seems you have a lot going on with the planting process. Thanks for the video?
Yes, we do rotate where we plant our pumpkins each year. And we will move next year's pumpkin patch to a different field. It takes about 3 years before we'll go back and re-use a field for pumpkins. Prior to this year, field corn and soybeans were grown here. Yes, that post-plant pre-emergent does require rainfall after it's applied- and that does sometimes make it tricky to get our field planted in time :) This year we didn't have enough moisture after the spray was applied and we did unfortunately battle weeds all season long.
Wonderful 🎉🎉🎉

Ever considered cover cropping your pumpkin patch?
Interesting video! Thanks for sharing. Does the pre-emergent spray affect the newly planted pumpkin seeds too?

Looks like you had a pretty successful harvest. Would you be willing to share the name of the company where you buy your seeds?
We buy from Gowan Seed 🧡✨
How many pumpkins do you get off of 1 acre?
Where can I find a pumpkin planter like that?
What is the brand of planter you are using
I believe the planters are "HC Companies" brand. We buy them from our local co-op.
