I know there are others on the SMP who are act better Tommy but the way he says “Tubbo no no don’t” in 2:10 is honestly so good and sad at the same time and this artist captures it perfectly.
Actually, Tommy is QUITE a good actor. If you have seen the scene where Dream *!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!* revieved Tommy from death. He actually sounds kinda like he's crying and totally confused and agitated, it's INCREDIBLE. That really was a moment where I learned to appreciate Tommys acting skills. Tubbos on the other haaand... XD
@@red4679 Imo, Tubbo's acting was great in the Season 2 finale, but then with everything after his acting really got lackluster. That's okay though. No disrespect to the kid or anything-- he's 17. He wasn't required to be a professional actor when joining the SMP.

@@HJPaige I mean, that's only because cc!tubbo said he was tired with the rp, and whenever he was expected to act (like when he found out tommy was dead) he just didn't have the energy to really get into character. just a bit of burnout. but recently, with the interrogation stuff happening, he's getting back into it :)
Headcanon is the reason Tubbo was fine with Dream killing him was because he felt guilty over the whole exile thing

So true! I have a cat, and the way they play with their food is by letting the rodent or whatever think it's going to get away and then swooping in at the last moment and pulling the prey back into their grasp to knock it around a little more.
Kinda reminds me of what Dream did in exile honestely.

c!Dream is just so unbelievably awful, and this animatic shows it perfectly, the character designs and movements are on point and flow so well, the facial expressions are absolutely perfect and the fear in Tommy’s eyes and the hopelessness in Tubbo’s is just heartbreaking, 10/10, absolutely stunning!

I was watching this with wide eyes the instant it started, and when Tommy ran over to the enderchest and threw the disc to Dream, I actually shouted "HOLY SMOKES!" Man, this is absolutely incredible - the animation, the character designs, the body language and expressions, and even the cinemaphotography, it's all SO well done!
Favourite bits below the cut:
0:20 - 0:29 Tubbo's little rollercoaster of emotions from trying to be encouraging, to that brief moment of depressed resignation, to him crying in frustration, SO damn well done. Bonus for the look on Tommy's face when Tubbo starts crying.
0:30 - 0:36 The scene where Tommy retrieves the disc and throws it: SO DAMN WELL DONE, WOW.
0:50 Tommy's face darkening when Dream starts laughing. It made my heart sink to my stomach all over again, just like it did when I first saw this scene in the stream.
1:00 - 1:05 Dream destroying the discs. It's just really satisfying to look at from an animation and editing standpoint, not to mention I think it adds to the fact that he's doing this so quickly and deftly, all while still talking and mocking Tommy.
1:07 That look on Tommy's face... That's all.
1:47 - 1:50 Tubbo trying to sneak up on Dream before getting got. It's a nice touch, I like it. Boy's got spunk even if it didn't pan out. And there's something so frightening about how almost casually Dream just turns and strikes at Tubbo, like Tubbo's attempt was nothing.
1:56 - 1:57 I'm just a big fan of the scene framing here, with the 'camera' being in the hole when it's dug out and looking up at the three characters as Dream drops an axe down there.
1:58 - 2:03 "Drop your stuff in the hole." Oh gosh, you can see that dread and fear and PTSD written all over Tommy's face, well done...
2:08 - 2:11 I really like the editing and scene framing here, where Dream tells Tubbo to drop his stuff in the hole and then starts attacking him when he doesn't immediately listen. I especially like the frame where Tubbo is in the foreground, backed up against the wall with the axe up to his throat, and Tommy is in the background, still struggling with the PTSD. Once again, the overall character expressiveness is very well done.
But overall, this is just amazing. Truly well done. Damn.

@@BlueTheCartoonAddict Explaining just a tad more. When Tommy was in exile Dream used to dig holes in the ground and told Toms to drop everything he had in the hole. He then proceeded to either blow all the stuff up or beat Tommy for refusing
@@BlueTheCartoonAddict Basically it reminds him of Exile, a time where Dream heavily abused Tommy both physically and emotionally and slowly brainwashed him into genuinely believing that Dream was his only friend, the only one who could love him.
I hate the fact that he was *using* his trauma.

This is ABSELUTLY INCREDIBLE! The expressions are so powerful and well done! I love the movements and how you made Dream so intense with his axe, how he swings it and hurts Tubbo, and puts it right above his head to kill him, like really just showing not to mess with him. This is so good, amazing word
The way you drew Tubbo and Tommy really shows how young they are, everything in this animatic is just so cool!
I'm speechless. From the character desings, to the world desing, to the interpretations of minecraft physics, to the composition of the scenes, the multiple camera angles. This is really excellent work. While the timing is just a hair off when Dream was showing/dropping the discs, the character movements , the expressions, and the camera angles are all genuine 10/10.

Watching how absolutely shattered they were in this made me want to throw hands with Dream for a fat minute
This was so cool to watch! The frame compositions were amazing. My favorite one was at 2:11 with Tommy in the background, the detail of the axe, and Tubbo against the mountain. It really showed how powerless they were in that situation. The posing and expressions in this were wonderful as well and it made it feel like an actual animatic for a TV show. It is definitely among my favorite animatics from this fandom, so great job on what you have done for this scene and I hope many more get to see it!
