Well, I never heard of BookTube till your last video, and now I meet LORE. It's hard to hone my learning curve! And as for Victober, I have read Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë and enjoyed and appreciated it very much. So prim and virtuous yet penetrating and judicious as well. Having taught children, I empathized with her troubles trying to get through at all to the little savages in her care, while being handicapped by the parents in every way. But character wins out most satisfyingly in the end. Another of your favourite authors, H. P. Lovecraft, I've purchased at the local bookstore, after searching for The Tenant of Wildfell Hall unsuccessfully, or any LeFanu either, at bookstore or library. But later, I'll try the universities. Meanwhile, my wife has urged Come, Thou Tortoise on me, which I've started. Pretty excellent, so far!

I'm so happy to introduce people to things I love and find out they never heard of them. It makes me feel amazing. I'm glad you're enjoying this. Yeah, book lists and holds have gone up tremendously with this pandemic, and they're hard to come by. The beauty of classics (especially victorian ones) is that they're often free online as well (as a last resort) but nothing feels quite as wholesome as handling an actual codex. Well, I've never read Come, Thou Tortoise, I'm glad to hear you think it's good. I will add it to the never-ending TBR.

@@InfiniteText *Come, Thou Tortoise* Globe and Mail review: "Extraordinary, original, and simultaneously deep and lightheartedly charming." True, too. Female Canadian author.

Oh, these books sound awesome!! Both Sush and I are interested. I'm glad they made book & audiobook versions since I don't like listening and Sush doesn't like ads, but the content sounds really good to us.

You will love it! It's good for car trips, or long walks, or just listening to it while you cook and do things around the house. I accidentally spooked myself out listening to it at night.

Love Lore. Perfect for this time of year. Have you seen his newest one, 13 Days of Halloween? Can’t wait. 10/19.

No not yet! I have been lagging a bit behind this month, I guess I need to take my own advice!

Wow! I had no idea. Thanks for this. On a similar thread, have you read Foxfire, Wolfskin and Other Stories of Shapeshifting Women by Sharon Blackie? It was one of my favorite reads of 2019. Planning to read it again soon.

I have not, but I just put in an order for it. It looks amazing. I might not get to it until December, but wow does it sound wonderful!
