      That's something l like about Noah Lyles, he truly believes he's the best in the world but it's not cockiness or words with him, he works hard everyday to prove it. Be it the workouts/training, diet, but especially in the meet

    Stunning.just look at the difference between Coleman and lyles at the 30 meters.This is why mid race lyles felt sooo much behind for a short instant,and then he instantly came back.even IF lyles keep every others splits the same,but get under 0.90 seconds,he has 6.45 potential.his 30 and 40 meters really is what blew him off..

    Ever since Trayvon's NCAA days, I've always cheered for De Grasse over him (I'm Canadian). But the technical mastery he's shown in his last two 60m races has turned me into a fan. That is the most beautiful technique through the acceleration phase I've seen since Asafa Powell.

    I'm not sure about those split times they seem dodgy to me. Coleman went from 0.86 to 0.89 then back to 0.85?? The splits would tell you coleman was in 4th place after 20m but visually this doesn't seem true at all. They also say Josephus went from 0.82 to 0.91 back to 0.83, which doesn't seem right either. I'd also doubt Lyles was really going at 0.81 m/s that's pretty much the fastest speed humans have ever touched if he was going that fast I'd expect him to running faster than 6.53.
    I think the highschooler wanted more time to get set and that's why he raised his hand.

    • @actual_random
      @actual_random ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@slowdownfletch Ik they're from the millrose website, that's how I got the slits for Josephus. It's not that the numbers add up so it's not about rounding. The physics doesn't add up. People decelerating so much in a race then accelerating again by a huge amount in the next 10m is extremely unusual. And to decelerate so much in the middle of a 60m not even end of a 60m race when you didn't stumble doesn't make sense.

    Comparing 10 meter split times is deceptive as foot placement plays a huge part in one's time. E.g., if you enter that 10-meter area while you're in mid-air your split time will be slower than if you have just driven off your foot an instant before.

Not to mention that .86 from 20-30 is pretty much humanly impossible. Fastest split in history for that segment is .90. Please stop putting these splits in the videos. I get that it is great for making the videos more interesting but it is extremely misleading. You don't run one of the fastest 10m splits in history when running 6.55.....
