    I play club for Anaheim FC, and I play high school soccer for Anaheim High School. You can play both depending on how the seasons go in your state

    • @JoshNewlinPerformance
      @JoshNewlinPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Do you mean you can play both at the same time?

    • @theemperor2136

      @@JoshNewlinPerformance yes. Well not legally. I play both at the same time just because of my work ethic.

      Oh, well I would say that’s great for you, but your club and high school team could get in serious trouble if you get caught, and you’d probably get suspended as well

    Yeah, saw the women's SHE BELIEVES CUP tournament live and immediately i noticed ALL the women had damn near PERFECT touch on the ball!! Like, zero bad touches!!! USA, Brazil, Japan, Canada!!!!! Perfect technical abilities!!!!!

    Great video, thanks. Our situation is slightly different. We have a child playing rec. He gets to play as much as he wants, but while he is a bit a nice average, his peers are still learning how to kick the ball, and it’s very frustrating for him. I told him we could look at club costs, but he may not get as much play time. Definitely some trade offs to think about. Thank you again.

      Thank you! I would say you could get him into a smaller, cheaper, less competitive club to start so he can figure out how much he wants to commit to the game while still getting playing time and having time to learn. Wish you the best, let me know if you have any more questions!

    I'm a freshmen who's talking to NAIA coaches, do you have any advice? Can you talk about the NAIA?

    • @JoshNewlinPerformance
      @JoshNewlinPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know a ton about NAIA, but naia teams can be very good and some could probably compete with ncaa d1. However the weekly competition is not as good as ncaa. For example it’s not rare to have games end 10-0 or worse. The NAIA also puts a lot of importance on athletics, so chances are you’ll get decent athletic scholarships, gear from the school, etc

    Is high school soccer year long or no? would I be able to play club and when high school season starts I’ll play there and once it’s over I’ll go back to club or is that against the rules?

    • @JoshNewlinPerformance
      @JoshNewlinPerformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, high school soccer is only for a season (fall, winter, or spring depending where you live) and I believe that in most places you aren’t supposed to play club and high school at the same time. You can play club the rest of the year, but once high school season starts you have to choose to play for your high school or club since you can’t do both at the same time

    I have potential I know it but my parents don’t want to pay for club so I basically have to play high school and Ik that coaches mostly pay attention to club players what should I do?

    • @JoshNewlinPerformance
      @JoshNewlinPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly recommend club but it’s sad how expensive it is too. Just work your hardest to prepare for high school season, train with other players and make sure you have highlights to send to coaches. Most coaches do care about club much more, but if you are a great hs player they will still be interested

    Hi, I am writing from Argentina, I am 19 years old and I play football in a team from my country (I am in the sub 23 and I have matches in the first team). I chose to play ncaa d2 in August, my idea is to be able to continue my professional career in the United States, what are the chances of being able to do it in the USL or NPSL and what is the average salary in these categories?
    PS: if you know someone, could you tell me about your experience between college and professional football?
    Please answer me with a comment so I can translate it because I don't understand much English.
    Sorry for the inconvenience !! Thanks 👍👍⚽️

      @JoshNewlinPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s really cool to hear man! I can not really say what your chances of playing pro are because every player is different, but d2 is still a high level and I would suggest playing in the UPSL every summer while you’re in college if you want to go pro eventually. As far as the salaries in the USL or NPSL, I heard that at my local NPSL team, FC Arizona, players can make between 75-1000 dollars a game but I don’t know how accurate that is. The NPSL is also in the 4th division, and some teams pay players while other teams might just pay for travel expenses. The USL Championship and USL League One are more professional and a higher level, so the salaries are higher but I don’t know what an average salary in those leagues is. I don’t know anyone personally that’s played college and pro, but Become Elite and Spencer Moeller are great channels to check out if you want to learn more about college and pro soccer in America. Good luck in college, let me know how it goes! Also you can always feel free to comment or dm me if you ever have a question!

      Of course I understand, the only question I have left is how do you recruit players to npsl or upsl clubs? because as far as I do not have draft (as has the MLS). 🤔🤔
      Of course I will tell you how I am going with the application process and other paper issues, thanks for being so kind to me bro ⚽️🤙 !!

    • @JoshNewlinPerformance
      @JoshNewlinPerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not 100% sure because I haven’t played on a UPSL or NPSL team yet, but I do know that you’re going to have to put yourself out there by emailing the club and it’s coaches and sending them your highlights and your resume to give them an idea of who you are. But great man, keep me updated, it’s really cool to hear about foreign players playing college soccer here, so I’m glad I could answer a few of your questions!

    This is the problem the coaches suck there's no such thing at club tryouts. The only thing clubs check for is your bank accounts. 😅
