    I honestly believe that I was at least at this level at 18, and didn't even play collegiate soccer. It just shows you how much work Matt has put it in to his workouts and training and just overall development. I would say that success in soccer is not as much about talent and more about your worth ethic and attitude. I had friends in highschool that would make 18 yo Matt look like trash technically. Now he is a soccer machine playing 2nd division pro in the US. To me this is just even more proof of how dedicated and intelligent Matt is in his approach to the game.

    My teammate's dad made commercials so he made highlight tapes for a few of us. This was back in the 90's when it was a lot harder and everything was still VHS. I sent a bunch out my junior year and did get some responses, including some pretty good D1 schools that had never seen me play in person. My senior year I had some scouts coming out to watch solely based on the tape. I actually started making highlight tapes for high school athletes myself as a business after I graduated college. It was a fun gig. Today anybody with a phone can do it.

    • @mac4192
      @mac4192 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ur moda Motivation keeps me going. I want to be a pro one day, so I get outside at like 5 or 6 at night (when it’s cool) and train till it gets dark. After that I just do some ab workouts and speed in my basement lol. I just started doing this a few weeks ago so it’s pretty new to me, but when I do it I feel so confident on the ball and my passing and touch has gotten A LOT better. If you want to do it as well I suggest put some music on and just have fun with the ball :)

    Incredibly useful video Matt. Highlight reels can have a huge say in the scope of recruitment a prospective athlete gets while they are in high school, so it is really important that every athlete really maximizes their 5-10 minutes of screen-time to get in front of some of the best college coaches in the US and make an impression. Keep putting out this valuable info - you're a huge resource for the community!

    This is a great video. Gonna save this one for years to come. Please keep it up as long as possible. Have three sons, oldest just turned 9 and is a soccer dude. Aggressive player and kinda big for his age. He’s versatile, can dribble well and shoots well. He’s utilized more on defense cuz his aggressiveness and ability to shut down opposing teams when they attack.
    But this video is a gem to develop the right kind of video for him and his little bros when they grow. Thanks for the advice/tips on developing a solid video. I see a bright future for him in soccer, he loves soccer. Thanks again!

    Would be interesting to see you play forward or midfield in a game now. The style is so different from your pro clips.
