Please give these veterans and their families what’s due to them! My brother was a United States Marine. He was on base 1979 to 1984 he pass away in 2022 from throat cancer. His family filed a claim with an attorney. We were told that his claim is Track 2 or Tier 2. We also got a update from his lawyer stating that it was approved when they went to court for elective option! As of September 2024, his family is still waiting for a settlement. Migrants get better treatment then our veterans who put they life on line for there country. This is how they get treated! Really 😮….
Compensation or not, my dad died from that spill. Lymphoma and leukemia. There’s not enough money in the world to settle this pain. Marine corps officials back then KNEW the water was contaminated. They did nothing. There are no words for this, my dad barely saw 65… too young to die for a marine who otherwise, didn’t smoke or drink… my dad could’ve been here another 10-20 years… the fact they’re taking their time to do right by the victims is a huge bag over the head and a mortar to the face.. they might as well be laughing in the faces of their victims at this point. “Haha you’re gonna die before you get shit from us! Thank you for your service🖕🏼”
My husband was in the Marine Corps in the 70s and he served with honors he died in 07 of inoperable cancer I am a widow to keep a roof over our head the runaround that not only the government of the federal level but the state is demanding a trustee to manage my money I'm 73 years old living on my own in my own home that my husband had built for us
I am a Marine and I have no doubt that this present government is doing their very best to not only delay the process, but to not Pay out one penny in retribution to those the government knowingly and willingly allowed to happen.
I was stationed there from 1982 to 1983 a year and a half , lived on base in the French Creek Area, ate at the Chow Hall everyday and bathed in that contaminated water . Im waiting to hear about those who were exposed to the risk, but have no injuries , no word on that yet. It's funny , we use to joke about the water , bc it tasted funny but we didn't know why
Go to the VA Hospital nearest you. Have them test you for every type of cancer you can especially prostate cancer. If you discover that you do have cancer, keep on expressing to the VA doctors and nurses that you were at Camp LeJeune during that time frame and now have cancer because of the contaminated water. Keep on expressing that until someone put into your record: the patients PROVABLE CAUSE of cancer was that of the Camp LeJeune Water Contamination. PROVABLE CAUSE is an extremely important phrase in a court of law and will be in your favor in a lawsuit.
I'm telling you, We will see more millionaire/billionaire lawyers be made from this, than we will see victims getting justice. In the end the money will be gone and victims will be asked to accept a hand full of dollars .
And they have the nerve to try and threaten to take our children to go fight in wars for their greedy, lazy azzes . If no one volunteers themselves in.
The US has never met a war it couldn't afford. But when it comes to making veterans whole for their sacrifices, costs to successfully aide the veterans tend to slow down the process. Veterans die unfulfilled all the time. A continous pattern of the same actions is usually not a mistake. Little to no change reeks of deliberate. Like the families of WWII veterans not being compensated for vets being wrongfully denied their GI Bill benefits for more than than 70 years, the still non payment to the families have all the markings of being deliberately denied.
I have been waiting for two years for something to happen. I have to take several medications every day to keep me alive. The medications have side affects like nausea, vomiting stomach pain diarrhea skin conditions and others. I live in pain everyday and the clock is ticking down on the time left in my life.
The delay is not incidental, it’s by design. I’ve been fighting the veterans administration and Social Security disability for years, and that is their way of doing things. Deny deny deny hope you die. The movie, Erin Brockovich is spot on with that regards of how government and private enterprise treat people. It’s all about their monetary bottom line. Just know those people you are not a human being. You are a case number.
Yes absolutely Correct. The VA and the Social Security Administration have team up to play with Veterans life in denying Veterans VA benefits and SSDI benefits.
Congress only did half the work. They did nothing to force the Navy to assign the personnel required to handle 100K+ cases (estimates as high as 500K eventually) and good luck now that Republicans have taken over the House (see promotions held up as an example of Republicans feelings toward the military). It's a JAG and 4 people. The 6 months after filing "requirement" to respond is a recommendation ignored by the Navy. The Navy doesn't keep good records (I once requested copies of my orders for each of the 6 bases I transferred to during my 4 years; they sent me my DD-214), so plaintiffs have to prove they were on the base, the web site apparently required is still not online, on and on so now there are something like 1K lawsuits. The judges are trying to get the claims grouped by types/similarities for faster offers, but even that requires test cases, which still apparently have not happened. The old military adage "hurry up and wait" is in full swing, meanwhile many people are in their 70s and 80s with cancers or dead. And the proof of the government deliberately dragging this out because of concerns it would open the floodgates? All the cases already through the court system that were thrown out on technicality because there was no "Act" at the time, the Navy already has their medical records and pertinent information, but have not made a single offer to date. The Navy and Congress should be ashamed. Why is only 1 of 4 judges moving cases forward and the other 3 upset he is doing his job? Early August is the 1 year anniversary of "The Act", exactly what has the government done for these vets and their families to resolve this bottleneck?

It is sad to see how our veterans are treated

Like the corrupt Massachusetts Karen Read court case.

@@markwells6532 that's so sad they didn't warn anyone.
Its amazing how we got unlimited money to send to Ukraine but cant take care of our veterans.

Sad but true
It's a shame they have no interest in doing the right thing
My father had three different cancers. No one should join the armed services until they start taking care of the veterans.
After my fathers cancer I don't see why anyone would. I will tell my kids not to join. I won't even let them go to public school
And they have the nerve to try and threaten to take our children to go fight in wars for their greedy, lazy azzes . If no one volunteers themselves in.
Then they wonder why America has such a low armed forces enrollment everyone sees how we treat our veterans.
Exactly. Truth. Our uncle Sam is Uncle Sham.

My ex wife has stage 4 cancer as of today! She was active duty with me!
