    My wife died from three different elements caused by the water at camp lejeune , she started with Dercums diseases then it went to aplastic anemia , and it went to leukemia then she went to the grave . This has affected both my children also , there not enough to tell everything but this is what I've got to deal with.

    My brother was a United States Marine and pass away in 2022. He was on that base in 1980. His family got a lawyer and we are still waiting for settlement! He had throat cancer. It’s sad how u serve ur country and they treat immigrants better then Veterans! Give these veterans and their family what’s owed to them! Period 😮…

    I was at Lejeune in 1966-67. Hated it there. I had to volunteer for Vietnam to get out of there. I, have got Parkinson's now. No shakes or tremors. At least not yet. Almost two years after the Pact Act And NO settlements made? May God Damn the Department of The Navy and Defense officials who have held these settlements up. You are Sub Human.

      Thank You for sharing your experience with fellow Veteran. Just the other day on July 11, 2024, while I was in attendance at a mental health support group class at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago Illinois , when it was my turn to say anything, I shared with everyone your same experience of me regretting for joining the Marines and being stationed and assigned to horrible duty services that were depressing and very stressful military duties, and the long periods of isolation from the "civilian" life.

The red tape needs to be severed. A new team if investigators who are knowledgeable of the factors of the case need to be hired.

They are in the Navy's side and not in favor of Camp Lejeune Veterans. Besides , I believe that Veterans do not need any lawyer representation. Especially from crooked lawyers all coming out of the wood work. Where does it read that Camp Lejeune Veterans need lawyers? Nowhere!!!

    I’m the granddaughter of a MstrGySgt… My Mom was born in Kinston, moved to Tarrawa Terrace when he got back from Korea, 1950ish.
    She and her siblings lived aboard base until ‘67 (ish).
    At TARRAWA TERRACE.
    Drinking the water, eating food cooked in it - at home AND ON BASE AT RESTAURANTS - clothes washed in it, drinking from hoses, playing in yards, swimming in base pools, ATTENDING BASE SCHOOLS….
    The “Baby Heaven” wasn’t the end-all.
    There were those of us who were born off-base, at Onslow or Carteret, who have dealt with issues from birth after SURVIVING…

      I’ve just filed - I’ve been reluctant to file, because of my status as a “granddaughter” of a Marine. But with Mom having LIVED at Tarrawa Terrace for her “formative years”?
      All bets are off.
      I’ve dealt with this mess my entire damned life.
      I’ve lost my grandmother and Mom to this.
      I don’t want my husband (USMC Sgt) or my son (an Army Vet) to have to deal with the aftermath…

      You can sue. Try again. Get a good attorney. They don't wanna pay anyway. The money is there for the victims. Six billion+. It's not costing them (The Marine Corps) anything. Hopefully they will release the funds soon. I was there 2 years while stateside. I ate, drank, and showered in those barracks and ate at that base cafeteria for those 2 years! And am just now starting to become ill in the last 7 or 8 months. They're just highly stubborn. It's part of who they are. Even when wrong. They will more than likely have to settle some of those cases soon. Pressures going to mount.

    👀👀👀There is a 1 page government form that is simple and quick and requires no
    Lawyer.
    I filled it out. And was told I had a legitimate claim
    In fact anyone who can prove they lived or worked at Camp Death can google the official form themselves and simply get tested for MGUS and if you have it you got a legitimate claim. It is that simple.

    • @BillyBobbby
      @BillyBobbby ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe you will eventually need a lawyer, correct?

    • @thomasfraser9072

      @@BillyBobbby a personal letter from the court. I now have to wait until the court request more information from me.
      I will never hire a lawyer.
      I believe that All of us who drank the toxic water at Camp death between 1953 to 1987 that are diagnosed with MGUS have a legitimate claim if done correctly.
      For example I Checked off other: MGUS and then checked off Multiple Myeloma. As MGUS is a known precursor to Multiple Myeloma and the other deadly cancers mentioned on the list. My VA Hospital is monitoring me for cancer for every 6 months. Regardless MGUS is known to shorten one’s lifespan for up to 12 years. This is what I based my claim on.
      Theses Lawyers are jerks and deliberately delaying the decision by the court.
      A plaintiff can ask for any amount they think they deserve and then it is up to the court to decide what will be given to the plaintiffs.
      For example I requested $250,000. However at this point in time I do not have cancer; so the judge may decide that I deserve a lot less and maybe nothing. I don’t know. It would be then that I will have to either accept it; or file a separate lawsuit if I disagreed with the settlement by the court.
      SO YOU SEE THESE lawyers have put the cart before the horse. This is why things are not moving. Cheers

      @BillyBobbby ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thomasfraser9072 Does this just apply to the MGUS condition? Everyone I asked about this told me that I need a lawyer.
      These lawyers are ridiculous. They are wanting 40% - 60% of the compensation. As if they suffered 40% as much as someone who lived their entire lives with effects of being poisoned. That's a big chunk gone. Then you're gonna loose another chunk to taxes. It's almost not even worth the trouble. It pisses my off!

Yet in a few studies ive read birth defects had a 40% higher rated of causation due to these chemicals and yet im physically disable un able to work yeah i get ss and medicare have had that all my life. Who's to say they wont "offset" the potential settlement and say "well the government has been paying his medical bills since birth" so we owe him nothing. This could happen kinda want to not even bother with it and just try and live my life and suffer through it as i always have. Then i think to myself it could be worth it i could be set for the rest of my life instead of relying on disability to pay my rent once a month which isnt crap i dont know im just conflicted i guess
