Great vid. I am playing the S55 for last seven years. I too have been considering these two iron choices for my new set and leaning to the Blueprint S. But as I get older extra distance would be nice. Decisions!
Go for a fitting and don’t discount some of the graphite options for shafts. The fitters from the brands tell me regularly that more and more better players are benefiting from moving to high spec graphite shafts not just from a distance angle but feel, spin and ball flight.
thanks for the video. I hear yah brotha. i530's packs a punch, I'm still trying to adjust to the club difference. I need to hit the blueprint S. they look amazing. How's it going after a month ?
Yes, happy with the irons and at the moment don't see any prospect of me needing to change back to the i530s, although now I've said that, I'll hit them horrifically. But yes, distance is pretty much the same as the D9 Forged (remember they are power specced) and they obviously look brilliant, to me anyway.
Personally a little bit bored by the looks of the i230 and also not a forged face even though they do actually feel fairly soft. If you like the looks then yes they're a credible option, although I would need to strengthen the lofts on them aswell.
Change ur shaft to see if it will go farther, maybe a touch lighter, may give u the distance u need to match the other 2 irons!, or strengthen the lofts on ur new irons!
Yes I know, and yet I still bought the Blueprints Followed my heart and hopefully won't regret it. They are hopefully going to go the same distance as my existing set. But as you say the i530s were better. I just really liked the looks of the Blueprint.
@@golffm6924 There are 4 degrees difference between the i530 and BPS 7 irons. Loft plays a much bigger factor in distance than 1/2" of shaft length. I'd love to see you compare an i530 8 iron to the BPS 7 iron as they would both be at 33 degrees of loft.

I like your vlogs - they are HONEST and not as much commercialised as the lot of them. The accent is another thing.
Thanks, I'll maybe trying doing an American accent next time.

Why wasnt the i230 in the competition?

@@golffm6924 not worried about control issues with the i530 short Irons?
I picked the same iron. The grouping I get with them is far better then the 530.
Looking forward to better groupings then, just hope they're not all short of the target!
i530 with retro loft would give you 31.5° loft on 7 iron
Yes, but I still prefer the Blueprint S shape and in the real world using them I'm not feeling like I've lost any distance.

I have got lighter shafts and I did strengthen them.
You wanted the blueprint before you hit. U were going to get blueprint no matter what. Like most typical golfers.
Yes and if you watch one of my later videos it didn’t work out! Will try not to make that mistake again , but can’t promise.
Your different than me no way I'm giving up 6-8 yards carry just for looks but to each his own.
Yeah I'm just sick of the bigger headed look, I want to try to use something a bit thinner, as I say if it's a disaster I can remedy it.
All the data here screams i530!

You’re comparing 6 irons by the lofts but calling it 7 irons. Space all your irons by 4 degrees & play the blueprint S like you want.

Lengths are different on (almost all) 6 irons and 7 irons.
