Good point, on a trolley especially you’ve no option but to have the putter at the most awkward area possible, wish I’d realised that. That’s why I need people like you to comment and tell me what the reality of living with a bag is like. Design fault duly noted and logged.

Thanks a lot, I like that idea of going 1 degree weaker, might just be enough to help the descent angle a bit more and maintain good distance. Skytraks behaviour during some of these videos is unacceptable and it should be ashamed of itself.

You really need to try them because everyone's launch conditions are different even at slower swing speeds. But with the right shaft and even the possibility of weaker lofts being utilised if necessary these can both be really good for slower swing speeds.

Yeah it had crossed my mind actually, always slightly frightens me that one as I’m hoping to actually sell some new ones this year and I fear for the outcome of that test. Will probably still do it as part of my self imposed sales prevention programme.

Yeah, ish. When you see them in the cold hard light of day in the metal there is an overall size difference and you can see the 730s cavity at the back is a bit more pronounced.

I looked on Wilsons website to see if this was true and oddly enough it says that the new max model is the set where the 7 iron is 30 degree and the standard dynapower model now has the 7 iron at 28 degree versus the old 27.5. This was confusing as I would have thought that they were reversed as the new max model is classified as "game improvement plus" and the standard dynapower is classified as "game improvement". I wonder if the people in charge at Wilson who run their website confused the iron loft charts and placed them with the wrong irons.

That will probably be correct, the max model is game improvement but it’s for slower swing speeds, like the High Launch models other manufacturers have, they need more loft on these models to help get the ball in the air properly.

Think you would be better with the new one, better all rounder.

I’m much like you - tried a few irons a couple of months back and ended up with the Cleveland Zipcore XL; thoroughly recommend them.

Don't know anything about Takomo really. Not big over here yet.

Id go Maltby first, then Wilson CB Forged, then the Dynapower, them Tacomo. Not nearly as impressive as Maltby TS3, TS4 or TS1-M.

Wilson has the tradition and the Major vs Tacomo. I'd take Wilson staff over any brand. Look at their Dynapower drivers kicking all the big boys in the nuts with their performance....

Yes they have, it's a really nice classy looking head with a really modern cutting edge feel to it now.

I tried those D9 forged Irons once on a simulator. Those were some sweet Irons.

Forged version is one of the best buys out there.

No it doesn't unfortunately, the other two make them specifically for their own trolleys.

Be a bit fiddly trying to get a ball marker in and out would it not. I'll have to have another look. Forgotten what it looks like, haven't played outside golf for ages.

Yes, should be fine, there’s plenty of room at the top. You might need the headcovers but should be fine

I had someone order power spec in the i525 but I would recommend caution, the lofts on the standard ones are seriously strong, it all depends on your particular launch conditions, but they are very strong, no harm in trying them though.

@ i may just go with the Retro Spec instead. I don’t need to be hitting a 7 iron 220 yards lol. I’m going to hit them today and see what i think. They look absolutely stunning even slimmer than my Mizuno 225s.

@@golffm6924 update I did my fitting today. I’m 6ft6 tall but i have short arms my wrist to floor is 41”. I was fitted for plus 2” than standard and 3 degrees flat Brown dot. I’ve never swung a 2” plus standard shaft before but it was perfect for me inside to out draw swing. My numbers with the 7 iron was 188 yards carry 125mph ball speed with a descend angle of 49 degrees so i launched it. I went with 5-UW Power Spec. The lofts gapped better with my 5 wood to 5 iron transition and my UW at 46 to my 50,54,58 wedges. They are shipping 2/6 according to Golf Galaxy from Ping. Can’t wait to get them. They looked amazing behind the golf ball. I also went with a stiff flex Nippon Modus Tour 105 S. I was getting wore out swinging my Project X LZ 6.5 125 gram shafts after a round of golf.

Yes looks are subjective. I'm sure you're not the only one who will prefer the G430. Interesting differences with the balls. Wish I could be as sure as that about my yardages!

It does show a little bit of difference, albeit not a lot I'll give you that. The G730 is still noticeably bigger when you see them together.

Yes, but just skewed a little bit in favour of the new one - which is at least something. They have got a bit better and if you prefer the looks then there's some justification for a new purchase.

Yeah I can't get my hands on Srixons unfortunately, can't do every manufacturer in the shop, but they do look good.

Yes, it did but it wasn't a 56 degree, it was 54. It's nice it's got a classic loft sand wedge.

I’d have to hit them back to back to be sure about feel but I remember thinking the Ai300 was one of the softest best feeling hollow bodied irons I’d ever hit. Hard to say on forgiveness, it’s a test I need to do but my gut feeling is that the Elyte could steal some sales from Apex range. I don’t think the Ai300 will be more forgiving, it will either be the same or slightly worse I reckon.

Yes, it’s noticeably longer, but as I said it doesn’t look bad.

The results would be Ping for me -- Te Ping 2 yards further with the same spin and 1 yard higher flight with higher descent angle

I was always struggle with the dispersion part of tests, I feel like the distance average is actually the figure that paints the clearest picture of how forgiving a club is. You can hit anything off line for a myriad of reasons but how well a club holds onto distance to me is the truer measure of how well designed the head is.

@@golffm6924 I hear you, dispersion can be more related to the players swing, club delivery, face to path not so much the club

Supposedly that was built more purely in the name of ultimate speed when you examine the resistance to twisting figures Taylor Made produce ( the 10 k stuff). But it just shows you that these differences are really pretty small.

Yeah unfortunately unless Srixon start handing out clubs to me FOC then it’s unlikely I’ll be doing that any time soon - same with Mizuno - I can’t stock everything sadly.
