Girl once again you came through with the kia soul! Theft is in a rise with Kias and Hyundais in my area recently. I’m thankful you provided a cost effective solution!
@@cartmansnipples Sorry to hear that. Maybe someone targeted that car specifically. I was looking for a Forte hatchback with 6-speed before I settled on the Soul, but the only one I could find was way over Blue Book value. The dealer said they were rare so he could demand a premium price.
@@lagarde2011 they joyrode it for about half a day and ditched it 20 miles away lmao it was honestly most likely just a crackhead that knew how to drive stick 😂
Just put mine in today. None of these have manuals so it was trial and error, made a few sparks but it's all good. I have so much more piece of mind now. It does screw up my time clock and trip tracker but that's a good tradeoff for a stolen and crashed car.
I had the security update programed into my 2016 Soul . 39,000 miles on it . Doing a intake manifold removal this fall 🍂 to manually clean the intake Valves.
What security update did you get ? I recently went through a attempted theft were someone pulled my ignition down . Kia told me my 2016 was too old for the upgrade 🙄
sounds like a great idea, but I am curious, what does this device do to all the computer modules in the car when the power is continually turned off and on? Even simple things like you lose your stereo settings, but things the car learns are gone aren't they? I am in no way a mechanic, so please help me learn what it will or won't do to the computer of the car.
Hey! So it'll act as if you've changed your battery to your car. There won't be any power locks, the radio settings will reset same with mpg if you use that feature. In terms of maintenance things it shouldn't affect that. Again it's very similar to having a dead battery then jumping it or replacing it. Hope this helps!
Depending on your radio it may or may not save the stations. With the traditional radio it won't save. For my radio it does save the stations but looses the time. I also use android play so I don't really use my radio.

You are very welcome! I'd recommend pairing with the wheel lock. Just so you have a visual deterrent.
I have a Kia Soul with the ultimate anti-theft device. A manual transmission.
My manual forte got stolen recently sadly. Insuance, rental, and body shop were flabbergasted lol

That's great I love mine! I'll have to resort it as the new battery I've put in is so much bigger so I'll have to find space for my kill switch.

Sweet did they share what is involved in doing the security update? Your souls going to purrrr after that cleaning. I'm excited for you!

I am skillful in cars , no problems doing a tottle rebuild on my Soul .

It's sad that Kia is not doing anything to actually fix the car. SMH
They do have a recall for the problem. Idk if it actually works but my latest video covers checking for the recall and taking it in to Kia.
Does this mod cause the clock and radio to loose memory?

Can you put the link to it please
Hey! Link to the kill switch is un the description.
