  • Too many "review" videos out there which just say that the engine is powerful.

    Why are you speaking british ?

    • @poorpossum79
      @poorpossum79  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Cos I is British innit. Did you see the licence plate? It means Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth the 2nd 🇬🇧. Did you know that she was partly German? So it was an apt plate for that car.

    I also got a 2009 palladium silver metallic, bought new, still have. No problem whatever , just maintenance cost. Love it. The lion roaring sound is addicting!

    The transmission is designed to shift slowly when it’s cold to prevent premature wear.

    Oh dear, it's not 4900lb 😂 , it's 3900, a bit more than the e92 I like that front line in the design you showed us, very cool engineering. A comparison vs the m3 would be good.

    In NJ, you really need to be going about 20 mph over the speed limit on highways to keep pace with traffic.

    On my W204 2009 C63, all my mirrors dim & there is a setting to have the mirrors turn in when you lock the vehicle, then open back out when you open the door. Also if you leave your keys in the trunk, it won't latch & stay open. Doing an oil change is as easy as having an oil pump with the tube shoved down where the dipstick goes & empty the sump that way. The interior door handles have finger grooves for closing the doors, all 4 have them & my centre console doesn't have a drink compartment, but a compartment with a sliding cover. I don't have any wind noise in the car when i drive, totally quiet besides the engine & exhaust gurgle. 🤭

    Very impressed since I stumbled upon this video as I'm looking at buying one of these soon. I really enjoy the blue brake calipers and how clean the car is overall. Why did you end up selling the car and what did you end up buying afterwards?

    • @poorpossum79
      @poorpossum79  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I sold it cos I was commiting a lot of miles in it and it just wasn't the right tool for that. I bought a pickup truck... and a motorcycle! Let me know any questions.

    Been looking into this car for a while. Great video mate. Much better then average review as you show what living with this care long term is like. Would you say this car is still good bang for your buck? As you seemed to have few issues with it?

    • @poorpossum79
      @poorpossum79  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Cheers m8. None of these observations made me dislike the car at all. In fact, I really liked it and I now miss it (it's now sold). In the US, clean and maintained versions like this go for 20-25k at most so big bang for buck!
      One thing I missed is that they used the generic W204 seat belt receivers and they sit really low next to the AMG seats so they are pretty hard to find when buckling up.
      Thanks for the comment.

    You should get the trim taken care of you got two sets of trims going on there in the interior. Either Birdseye, maple or carbon fiber.

    I have a 2010 C300, not a C63, but still love it. I think the finger grooves on the interior door handle are there to help you close the door, not a place for your hand while driving. I’ve never heard anyone make a comment on the interior door handle on a W204 🙂

    looking at picking one up here in the next week or two. I've been watching lots of reviews and you hit points that I haven't heard in other videos. How well would you say it does with colder east coast weather and salt in general?

    • @poorpossum79
      @poorpossum79  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No issues at all. I had no corrosion and the body held up well (and I drove it in ALL weather). Although you should never overheat the engine, it actually does well in the heat too: the radiator is large and there is an oil cooler. I feel like the engine is overbuilt in this sense. When the car got salty I did spray it down with clean water, but I didnt clean it that much and you would not be able to tell.
      One weather related thing to look for is delamination on the black roof strips that run from front to back along the car. The sun damages them and the little doors for the roof bar mounting points break. They are not expansive but they are hard to get shipped as they are long.

      @@poorpossum79 true, 3800 is pretty heavy, the car really moves though.

    • @andyp8464
      @andyp8464 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The e92 isn't much lighter at all. Its a porker too. The e92 has fast steering turn in. You need to fit an lsd to the c63 to improve it's driveability

      Wellome@@poorpossum79 nd thanks fort the video.
      The C63 W204:
      * Is plenty of torque in all rpm range
      * Really nice exhaust sound
      * Really fun to drive, especially if you know what you are doing with controls off
      * It can be quite dangerous if in inexperienced hands, as it reaches 300km/h
      * The suspension can be a little bit harsh depending on the type of road
      * Lot of fuel consumption
      * Prone to rear tire consumption if you drive little hard
      * Gearbox overheat if you drive really hard on track
      * Overall reliable engine, with some issues relatively easy to be addressed
      * Not so cheap to own, but it is a sports car
      I really love to own mine and wish the best for your ownership !
