I've been wishing this for years. If FabFilter could bring their sound engineering, design aesthetic and productivity workflow to their own DAW, I would be overjoyed and would likely switch over to their DAW in a heartbeat.
This has so many complex features but still looks elegant and easy to use for beginners. Which is a true challenge when designing user interfaces. Well done!
A "no brainer" of an upgrade. The best EQ out there has just got significantly better. Already purchased and looking forward to playing with it. Welcome back Dan. Update: Kinda took it for granted that external side-chain triggering for the dynamic eq would be included. Sadly not. More work to do yet guys!
This is THE equalizer. Such a smooth workflow and clean interface, it's incredible. The quality of this EQ (and also every other FabFilter plugin) is unbelievably fine. It's really worth the money.
As a busy, full time medical professional, with a decades-long passion for music (with a strong music theory background), my career and family life have taken me away from music for >10 years. However, right now, I can’t believe how professional-sounding my mixes are turning out. Aside from work, my time is divided into sleep, wife, family, exercise, golf and music production. In my limited spare time it’s amazing to have tools from Fabfilter (and others) that can teach me a ton of info, theory and technique, to allow me to level-up my production skills. With intense music theory refresher courses and great Fabfilter plugins and tutorials (and the easy-to-read user manuals!!), I feel like a musician again. Thank you Fabfilter!!
This thing is amazing. It's like the FF team read my mind, as for years now, I've used ProMB as my primary equalizer, generally preferring compression to EQ. Q3's built-in compression, which I assumed might just be a tad gimmicky, is actually fantastic as it's SUPER transparent across even large gains or cuts. The ability to overlay spectrums from any other instance is also "fab"ulous.
In my day job, I’ve helped organisations across the globe deliver software with lean and agile practices, from banks to defence.. Whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it.. I’ve owned this since it came out, and have to say it’s without hesitation that this is our go to.. Good job, good design, good development.. Kudos! Looking at how Timeless and Saturn have evolved, if that’s the trend, this is going to be even more stunning next evolution..
Another fantastic product by Fab Filter. And the second song... The Little Robots one. I wish I could find it somewhere. It's haunting me all day. So beautiful.
FabFilter is just a bunch of things: EXCELLENT! BEST! AWESOME! SUPERIOR! INCREDIBLE! FANTASTIC! SUPERB! I can continue for eternity, but I have never had any other EQ as a plugin ever since I first got FabFilter. Best ever on earth!
The only EQ one ever needs. Amazing work, FabFilter! Hoping to upgrade my Pro-Q 2 at some point. And if only Dan Worrall could do video tutorials for everything.
Guys, you never fail. It’s a statistical anomaly. Toward the beginning of this video, I was thinking “yeah...I still like my pro-q 2” then by the end, with the various dynamic eq functions, my brain was exploding with practical uses for these features. And you’ve done it again...
For Spectrum Grab, I just learned a cool trick... So after it does the analysis you can click and hold your mouse in the purple area for a few seconds and it will turn blue, thus freezing the screen. Now, if you stop play you can make your adjustments all together (instead of doing one, waiting a few seconds for it to analyze, doing the next, etc). Note: if you don’t stop play you can still do it, but it will still be analyzing so it might be hard to click on the points accurately. So it’s just a nice time saver.
Who would have thougth that I one day would actually be in love with a piece of software. Using it every day for 6 months now, i find myself coming back to this video just to worship :D
i think Pro Q4 will be able to cook me dinner and take out my dog for a walk. what a beautiful update and SO much beauty. Every new feature is necessity and non fluff
I thought there wouldn’t be possible to add so many improvements and new features to the already great and my go to eq plugin. Boy, I was wrong (dynamic eq implementaion was expected, but multichannel and per band channel options are incredible. Upgraded immediately without thinking twice. Fabfilter guys raise the bar once again! And have you noticed lately that almost all digital eq plugins look kinda fabfilter-ish?:-)
I had a feeling that the next upgrade would add a dynamic EQ. It was honestly all that was missing. I'm so happy! This frees up a slot on my master channel now!
This FabFilter EQ is the best EQ I have ever come across - it is AMAZING! It is so precise, so intuitive and litterally everything, yes all parameters can be automised. If you’re looking an high end super EQ, you should definitely check this product. It is easy as they have a 30 days free trial. It is just encredible that such an advanced piece of software just is kind of “plug ‘n’ play” - so easy to use...wow - check it out!!!
This EQ is so freakin' amazing. I will absolutely upgrade to this immediately! Can't wait to play with this one. I was hoping too that you would throw in the harmonics tracking then I was really going to do a back flip...……...but I love what you did implement. Fantastic work guys.
Fab filter is definitely at the top of the production software game. These tutorials are outstanding. Dan could sell Popsicles on the South Pole. "Per band" and "...at-all" are now my 2 favorite phrases. The emphasis added to the "K" sound at the end of certain words is cool, eg. kicK,. Definitely get Fabfilter: My go-to plugins!!
Wow, I currently don‘t see any real competitor to Pro-Q 3. This is just insanely good. Next FF development should finally be their own DAW. With their ability to combine great functionality with the best GUI design on the market...
Every time they update a plugin, it changes the game. No one else (at this point in time) has an Equalizer like this one. I am a happy owner of Pro Q, Pro Q2 and many other fabfilter products, and I think I’ll be getting this now :P
I can’t wait until Pro DAW comes out!! Imagine being similar to Cubase where each track has a built in eq and channel strips with a toggled compressor, distortion, limiter etc... but all those channel strips are fabfilter plugins as stock. An easy purchase. I've been playing around with it and am positive this will be a staple yet again in my mixes.Thank you, it's a fine update. The dynamic behaviour can be automated as well, which suits me just fine. An interesting choice to provide no VST mono version this time. Not that the CPU consumption matters that much. I could probably run at least 1000 of these. The only downside to this new plugin is that I now have to create a new controller assignment map in Reaper again :). Good thing I'm on a break. I loaded one of my old Q2 presets from what may have been the mono version. And the bands only handled the right channel. That was easy to fix with a sweeping selection and setting it all to stereo.
@@fabfilter True if the DAW has mono channels(unlike Reaper), but that's ok. One interesting point is, while I got to do some creative modulation effects via parameter modulation, doing so at the behest of a sidechain required that I created a 10 channel track in Reaper.
