Similar story for me. I left the communist state of Washington at the end of 2022 and moved to the freedom loving state of Montana.
Arizona here, constitutional/open carry state. A guy open carrying a Glock walked into a packed Chik Filet at lunch a few hours ago while my wife and I were in there eating. No one batted an eye, not even the local cops at one table. Kids were playing on the playscape, employees carried on with their jobs, patrons kept munching on their lunches. Very common here.

My biggest complaint about Colorado law currently is the “high cap” magazine ban. No one follows it locally, but it makes buying stuff online impossible

I was born in New Hampshire, and I've lived here all 60 years of my life so far. And as a gun owner, collector, and concealed carrier for the last 36 years, I thank God for being so fortunate to live in a state that's still free. You can walk into a gun store here and walk out with anything you want in twenty or thirty minutes. If you can legally own a handgun, you can legally carry it concealed, and there are no restrictions on where you can carry. No magazine capacity limits, no assault weapons bans, no nothing. I'm proud to say that New Hampshire truly is still America. I only wish that every state was as free.

As a Massachusetts citizen, I've always envied New Hampshire, and not just for their laws
I just worry that NH is at the highest risk of not staying that way over the next decade.
There should be no difference from one to another ! And wouldn't be if the federal government told these states that the constitution applies equally to all of them without exception ! When we actually need big government it's nowhere to be found !
exactly if the US wants to pretend to be a sole nation not a UNION shhhh states are nationS in law each state has a flag constitution and NATIONAL guard for a reason.
Careful what you wish for, that's how to build an oligarchy. We are a constitutional Republic fot that exact reason. But yes in a perfect world it would be nice.
Consider if politics changed and the constitution was overthrown, or the 2nd amendment was nullified nationally. Wouldn't it be nice for you state to raise the middle finger and say not in our state you won't?

Native and resident of the Granite State (NH) here and would add that we rank as one of the safest states. When Constitutional Carry was passed and signed into law, the pearl clutching gun-grabbers said that there would be blood in the streets. Hasn’t happened. Perhaps the criminals are staying in the states where the government has disarmed law abiding citizens.
Do not vote for Joyce Craig. She is a gun grabber. She uses "common sense" gun laws. The one thing I know about Dems is "common sense" is an oxymoron. Ayotte for Gov.
MA resident here, I love NH and it statistically ranks in the top 3 safest states every year. I plan on moving when I'm able to.

I live Kentucky now for about 7 years, there’s almost no gun laws for residents or persons visiting from all 50 , also no red flags .

It's weird when I visit WV. When I got my WV permit, actually this happened when I got my PA permit too, but when I got my permit and asked the cops where I could/couldn't carry, they were like.. just stay out of schools and court houses and you're good to go. Actually the the PA cop told me to also stay out of Philly because their laws were crazy. It's so different than here in MD, its crazy.

Wyoming here. No permit required while in Wyoming, no matter what State you live in. If you can legally possess a firearm, you can carry concealed in Wyoming regardless of your State of residency. This law took effect July 1st, 2021. The culture here is very pro gun, open carry is a common sight even in the capital city. Law enforcement is very pro gun here and a common bumper sticker states: “It’s Wyoming, just assume everyone is armed!”. IMHO, Wyoming should probably be a tad higher on the good list.
Same here in Idaho. And our self defense laws protect you against prosecution.

Ohio here, we have constitutional carry, open carry, no duty to retreat, stand your ground, we have castle doctrine, and they're working on a Sapa law. Not sure why we're at 28

I have been a lawful firearm(s) owner in Honolulu for 29 years.
Hawaii is possibly the worst, but we should make a small correction…
Thanks to efforts of a lot of good people including the Hawaii Firearms Coalition and National Association for Gun Rights, Hawaii is now issuing CCW permits.
I am pleased to say that I recently made it through the incredibly onerous and expensive process and finally received my CCW in May of this year.
I have faith that the Hawaii Supreme Court will ultimately receive the spanking they deserve from SCOTUS, and I trust that all of Hawaii’s unconstitutional restrictions will ultimately be struck down.

Ohio went constitutional carry last year, never had a problem with CCW retroprsity. 18 for rifles and 21 for pistols. Has been an open carry state for years.
On June 13, 2022, Ohio became the 23rd state to enact a permitless carry law (PCL). The new law allows Ohio citizens to carry concealed

Ohio has this nasty law that adds legal power to no guns allowed signs. In oppressive Massachusetts I was ignoring them safely but here in free Ohio I ignore them at my own risk of misdemeanor charge.
Ya we moved back to Oregon a couple years ago from Ohio. I'm a native Buckeye, but lived most of my life in Oregon. Only went back because of my wife's job. Oregon doesn't have constitutional carry so not sure how Oregon ranks higher than Ohio.

Also, in the #2 ranked state of West Virginia, no sales tax on guns OR ammo... which I think should bump it to the #1 spot! Almost Heaven for a reason.
We have no sales tax, nor income tax, period. So, we kinda beat ya fair and square... ;)

The downside is it's the home of the ATF. I loved living there, though.
In NH We have no general sales tax at all. Only a few vice items (like cigarettes) and hotels have any tax at all. Oh, we also have no state income tax either.
From central IL, my county is a 2a sanctuary so we are ignoring prickster unconstitutional laws.

There’s many reasons why I moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire. Guns, taxes and less crime being major factors

Same here, I escaped from mAssachusetts myself back in 2018, and came up to NH. Worlds apart 2A-wise. I was surprised that we ranked number 1 over Texas, but depending on who our next governor is, that can change. As an aside, I was planning on moving to Arkansas in the near future anyway, so it was interesting where they posted in the list.

@@fortnite.burger If you look at how the state votes, nearly everything north of Nashua is red. Unfortunately, that's where the nanny state transplants live en mass. It'll be interesting how we vote this November compared to previous voting cycles.

I was glad to finally not be at the top of the list in being the worst state for the 2nd amendment.
Then screamed, "F@$K" that we were worse than New York.
I escaped to GA 9 years ago. Got my carry permit in 1 week (now we have constitutional carry).. The carry permit also counts as a background check when buying guns, I’m usually out in 10 minutes. It’s worth moving, our small town has a nice range where no one works, no range officer, and I’ve only ever seen someone else there 1 times.
Depends on what aspect. Honestly It’s subjective in most ways Cali is better than NY. We don’t have a roster so we can have whatever pistols we want, but the pistol permit process is tremendously difficult and you need one just for the mere ownership of a handgun. If you live near the city you need to renew every 3 years just to keep your property which includes taking the 18 hour course every time. When it comes to assault weapons. Fixed magazines have to be permanent. For featureless you can’t have any threads at all, no juggernauts, no bayonet lug, permanently fixed stock etc

I live in WA. Traveling to Idaho is like a whole other world as far as guns go.
AZ is going bad. People are moving here from horrible states and voting the same way.
I know about 20 people who moved from CA to AZ. Not one voting blue. If AZ goes blue, it's due to illegals and fake votes.

Yep, it’s how they deny virtually everyone access to firearms. Even with a clean record they usually deny your application the first time around and you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get approved. I made a mistake in my youth and was saddled with a misdemeanor theft charge. I am on my fourth appeal to obtain my FOID and just about had enough. We are moving to Arizona and Illinois can kiss my @$$!
As someone from Kansas, I would like to know why we are so low on the list compared to Missouri because our gun laws in Kansas are less restrictive than Missouri. We do not require a permit for concealed carry or open care at any age. A permit can be sought and obtained if an individual wishes to travel outside the state to have another state recognize that individuals right to cary through reciprocity.
Furthermore, our limits to purchase guns are determined by the federal laws. If federal law changed the age limit to purchasing a handgun to 18 that would be our law. Until that happens, an 18-year-old can possess and carry handgun, they just can’t be the one who purchases it. So they would have to be given that handgun by someone who could lawfully purchase it as long as doing so wasn’t an attempt to get around the purchase limit. So parent could give their 18+ son or daughter a handgun as a birthday gift, or Christmas gift, or just a simply for protection.

Amen. KS is as free as possible. Anyone legal to own a gun is legal to carry open or concealed anywhere (other than schools or federal property). Especially outside of Wichita. LOVING SW Kansas!

I spent few years in MO a long time back. Back in the day one had to acquire a permit to purchase a firearm (well, a handgun at least). IDK if that was a state thing or a county thing, but hopefully it’s no longer a thing at all.
@@jimm244 I worked at our Sheriffs office from 1994-2019. Yes, a permit to purchase. Once the purchase was complete and the form returned to the sheriffs office it was recorded in a ledger book. The books were (at our office) all done away with once CCW carry was allowed.
Wisconsin, and actually surprised that we ranked so low. Open carry is legal, conceal with a permit (I know that automatically puts us below the 27 permit less states). No state restrictions on NFA items, no waiting period, no duty to retreat and castle doctrine...could be better but having lived in California and Washington as well as spending a lot of time in Illinois I've definitely had it worse.
I said the same thing about Michigan because they're basically the same way except we have no duty to retreat. But then I remembered 29 states have constitutional carry and Michigan doesnt.

Montana should actually be #1 if you include our self defense laws, no restrictions on magazines, no firearm type or caliber size restrictions for hunting, oh & if you also add in our Shooting Range Protection act.

Utah allows carry in State Goverment buildings. There are Utah congressman who make it a point of pride to bring guns to all their sessions.
I live in Colorado, I think it goes okay. I walk around with my firearms everywhere I go. No matter the law, it doesn’t outweigh my right to carry and so I just go about my business everyday.
I live in Missouri. It's ranked appropriately at #6. However, our neighbors in Kansas are misjudged here. That's a top 10 gun rights state. No way they should be as low as #23.

Illinois has gotten incrementally worse in my memory. (I'm 65). Open carry was legal in unincorporated areas back in the '70s, for one. While the (Dem) legislative leaders will claim that their increasingly restrictive gun laws have "overwhelming" political support among the populace, they make sure not to talk about more gun laws during an election year, and to rush those bills through in the dead of night at the end of the legislative session so as to minimize public debate. While I object in principal to the FOID law, 20 years ago I could apply for a renewal, send it in with the fee, by snail mail, and have a new card in under 2 weeks. Now you apply online and it takes months.
It’s almost a requirement to have a gun in Alaska. Either for the wildlife in the mountains or the wildlife in Anchorage. You NEED a gun here.
Rating states above Idaho because you can take a class and get a government permission slip to carry in more other states seems more of a pro-licensing argument than a best state for guns list.
How is that if you don't have to get licensed?
@EssenceofPureFlavor In Idaho you do not have to get a CCW or any other license to conceal or open carry. However Idaho has some license options that allow you to conceal carry in other states.
You don't need a license because the Idaho State Constitution Article 1, SECTION 11. RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. The people have the right to keep and bear arms, which right shall not be abridged ... N.B. This extends to all USA citizens when they are in the State.
Same in Utah. The only reason to have a state issued CCW is to carry in other states. That's a requirement of the other states, not Utah.
As an Arkansan, I can confirm. The only crime here other than Little Rock is minor theft, and meth. The last break-in in my town was 3 dudes stopped by a man and his pump action. Shot one in the arm and they all scattered and were subsequently arrested and cleaned up off the streets for a long time.
NC is overall a good state for gun owners, the ONLY issue here is that there's no requirement for a uniform no-weapons sign. If one door to a shopping mall has a tiny no gun sign barely visible, that counts.
That's a great clarification. NC here also (and unless there's a metal detector present, I ignore the signs)
As someone who grew up in Colorado the state used to be very friendly to gun owners things did not really change until the late 70s. I remember in 1968 in 7th grade one of my classes included 6 weeks of firearms training for a hunters safety card. My father who was a police officer at the time arranged the class's use of the police range, when that day came he dropped me off in front of the school, I carried my 7.65mm Mauser in a case along with a Browning 12ga. semi-auto, and a wooden shooting case that contained a S&W .38 special, a Colt .357 python, and a 1911 .45, ammo, primers, a small reloading set up, and fresh brass as well as a spotting scope ( that was mounted on the hinged lid). I was able to walk through the school with these and place them in the classroom with the teacher, when that class began (third period) we boarded a bus and went to the range. It was common sight to see guns in racks in truck rear windows even in the high school parking lot as well as on the college campus. I also able to take a Japanese paratrooper rifle (with bayonet and sheath) in to show and tell back in the 4th or 5th grade, it was something my father brought back with him when he was shore patrol during the surrender and occupation of Tokyo at the end of WWII.

We've had constitutional carry since 2013, though it's been quite a bit of a fight to get many law enforcement agencies to recognize it!

I live in South Georgia. Our local municipalities will make firearm laws less stringent through lack of enforcement, on top of our state laws being lax. It’s wonderful.

@shoreguyeast Just a minor correction. Sling Shots are not considered firearms in NJ. They fall under the definition of "Weapons". Which is still ridiculous. It is a fourth degree crime to posses one.

Here in Nevada is pretty decent, open carry is allowed, and CCW permits are easy to get. I would say it is mostly favorable for gun owners here.
Utah not being top 10 is absolutely wrong. Constitutional carry, carry in schools and universities, good self defense laws, recognize all states licenses, no background check if you have a permit, no gun signs don't apply, no weird restrictions on NFA items. Etc.
Agreed, my CCP works in 38 states regardless if I'm a resident.
Utah is not that gun friendly and has been anti gun for years. The newer carry laws are a step in the right direction, but Utah is still anti freedom and pro plastic surgery for their mormon wives and daughters.
I wonder how they grade it. Im in PA at 35 and gun free zone signs mean nothing, only court rooms and schools are off limits by state law, and ccls are shall issue, the only wait in most counties is the wait in line at the county sheriffs office.
I think for most of these, the biggest factor is Constitutional Carry and I believe that all of those states recognize state licenses from all 50 states and US territories. Which means that in my state, AR, you can legally carry in this state, concealed or open carry, regardless of your state of resident, regardless of if you have a permit, so long as you are legally allowed to under state law. I'm not going to lie, there are restrictions on where you can carry without an Enhanced Concealed Carry permit, but AR currently has a commission looking into carry laws as it pertains to gun free zones, the final report is supposed to be due in December.
@@kraevac UT has constitutional carry and open carry. And anyone (resident or not) can carry in the state. AND they recognize all permits as valid from any state or territory (a bit redundant considering the anyone can constitutional carry). UT doesn't have an "enhanced" permit. However, they do issue slightly more restrictive permits for those 18-20. At age 21 though, the only difference I know of in UT law is that only permit holders can carry in schools and I believe that is only because of a federal and not a state law. Beyond that UT has state preemption, lax knife laws, no ammo restrictions. It's a really relaxed state when it comes to gun laws. The UT permit is also recognized by 38 states which is really good.

As for N.H., the problem there is that you can't get to it without passing through any of the worst States for 2A unless you fly in, and then it's a T.S.A. and airlines circle jerk [ not to mention the rampant theft occurring with airline employees ].
I was shocked AZ was so low! I don't have any complaints outside of federal ones... I could go for concealed carry at 18, but 21 aint that bad. No permit needed either...
And Arizona allows constitutional carry for everyone and recognizes all permits. Sure, current governor isn't pro-2A at all, but still....

As a Pennsylvania resident, I legitimately don't understand how it doesn't rank much higher. Unlike some of the "higher ranked" states, we don't require some ridiculous mandated training course. Anyone with a relatively clean history above 21 can get a CCW in like 2 weeks or less. And PA accepts dozens of other states' CCW and PA's can be used in dozens of others. Should be a top 20, and some states that require a mandated course should have been lower. It could hardly be easier to conceal carry in PA unless they just straight up make it constitutional carry.
I think its the 2 character references for a ccl, and the fact you cant keep a loaded long arm in the vehicle they hold against us, but I agree. How are we 35? Other than schools(which are being contested), court rooms,and federal buildings you can legally carry just about anywhere else here and unlike states like VA,OH, etc them gun free zone signs have no authority, they have to ask you to leave before pressing charges.

I'd say Constitutional carry is a really big deal. It allows anyone that's law abiding to carry without any additional checks. When I applied for PA, they wanted a training certificate. PA also, I think the law may have changed this year but not sure, allowed open carry to anyone, but when you got into your vehicle, you couldn't carry without a permit... Weird I'd say. Plus PA has Philly.. Philly has some bad gun laws and apparently there's no preemption since Philly seems to set their own laws.
BTW, the best thing about getting a permit in PA speed and cost. I think I paid $25 for the permit and I was approved in under 3 business days. Applied on a Thursday evening and was approved by Monday morning.

@@InspectorDilligaf-fv5nq Both, the (2) character references and loaded "firearms"(handguns, SBS, SBR) while OPENLY in a vehicle were thrown out by a federal judge. Lots of other states still don't allow loaded long guns in a vehicle. The new LTCF application was just updated making the references optional because of the federal ruling. We have some of the fewest off limits places. A great many of the other states prohibit drinking or going into establishments that serve alcohol - hell, we can go to bars and get shitfaced while carrying openly or concealed and it isn't against the law. I think our worst offensive things are the Record of Sales database that some unknowledgeable offices try to use as a registry(which is prohibited by PA law) and the extra state law for a City of the First Class(Philly) requiring a license to carry openly or concealed. ...which is likely to get tossed as well. Our LTCF is only $20, many sheriffs issue immediately after passing the instant background check. No training, fingerprints, or dog & pony show required.
I am from Indiana and think we have it better than our surrounding states. Kentucky ranked better. I have no use for Illinois.
The People’s Republic of Maryland here. Besides the high capacity bans. They also make you do a 16 hr training class plus live fire for your CCL. plus let’s not forget the 8 renewal classes and the Gov trying to Ban numerous semi automatics. Stuck here for a few more years but hope to escape eventually
I live in NC and it's not too bad. They did get rid of the PPP pistol purchase permits and they were seconds away from passing constitutional carry before the NRA f'd that up. There really aren't any limits on what you can buy here, and there are no waiting periods for non-NFA items.
The CCW courses are a little expensive but if you're able or you know someone who can get you on a military installation you can get the course for around 100$ and then the sheriff's office wants their pound of flesh as well. I do wish that there was more interstate resperosity.

NC here. I live in a rural area so we have no issues. We can open carry or conceal carry with a permit. We’ve been trying for permitless carry but we have a bunch of girly men in the legislature. The worst areas are Mecklenburg County and Durham.

Philly played games with the permit process for years. Demanding three references and forcing you to sit with a police officer who interviewed you and was just looking for a way to trip you up. They asked you over again all the questions you already answered on the form. It was also recorded. They finally were sued a few years ago and forced to remove the interview process, but today you still cannot get a suppressor in Philly. That's because every Nazi Police Chief that is appointed (they are not elected) to the job, is under strict instructions from every single POS Democrat mayor to not approve any suppressor applications. The state legislature should fix it, but the Republicans are pu55ies.They're afraid the Dems will come after them and they won't get reelected.

The PA handgun registry is a serious black eye to gun rights in the commonwealth. The PA recently made character references "optional" on License to carry firearms applications. However I'm unsure what exactly that means.
Yeah, it's not that bad here as long as you don't live in Philly. Bought my first handguns from an FFL here and my dad who lives in NC was surprised I could take them home the same day. When he bought 2 handguns while living in Charlotte, they had to hold them for a week before he could take them home

I don't understand why Florida is above Georgia on the list. Florida has NO open carry and the gun must be in a holster. Georgia is a constitutional state with open and concealed carry. No classes required to practice your 2nd amendment in Georgia also. NO holster needed/required. Stand your ground state. I'm betting other states above 10 do not meet the Georgia standard.
Alabama has ammo restrictions also.
Kentucky also has ammo restrictions.
Missouri only allows the concealed carry of a handgun only.
Texas A Texas LTC does not apply to weapons other than handguns, and they have ammo restrictions.

Yeah Georgia’s placement is confusing. Even before constitutional carry, every cop I’ve talked to in central to south GA didn’t give a rats ass about carry permits. We get a lot of cops coming into our businesses, and I was the first person to break down constitutional carry, and tell them that it’s the law 😂. I got like 5 that’s new to me… try that in Florida with one of their laws and you’d be under the jail. But yeah I grew up in CA, 28 years, I bounced and never looked back some years ago.

I have mixed feelings being a resident of California with a CCW. On one hand, I feel special. On the other hand, I feel that I shouldn't have to feel special to exercise a right. Either way, I can't stand the way Newsom continuously signs unconstitutional laws into effect.
I'm waiting to see what happens after the partial injunction vs the LA Sheriffs Dept and AG over non resident prohibition on applying for a CCW. They were given 30 days to basically work an interim settlement with CRPA until the lawsuit is argued on the merits.
Illinois only started their CCW program because they were forced to by the supreme court. and delayed things as long as they could. I cannot remember how close they were to missing the deadline which would have made us constitutional carry by default

I've looked into other states and no one talks about the ban on firearms at public schools in a lot of the states thought to be "pro gun." In Utah, I can carry at public schools. I did through college, and any time I need to visit my kids' schools.

Things I look for in a state: Gun laws, no property tax for disabled veterans, what states are going back to the gold standard, benefits of a state owned bank, what state has no sales tax on gold and silver.
I would like to see NO property tax on any home in America where the home owner has retired.
I agree in theory but what does “retired” actually mean? Anyone not actively seeking employment? I’m only 54, but a chronic illness forced me into retirement and disability. Should I benefit from no property tax?
As a Mississippian, I’d like to correct and clarify: the 8-hour training requirement for licensing is ONLY for the Enhanced Carry Permit. Standard permits do NOT require this course. However, as stated in the video, the enhanced permit allows for concealed carry in more sensitive places (e.g., schools, bars, etc.), though still with a few exceptions.
For more info on both standard and enhanced permit provisions, refer to Miss. Code Ann. § 45-9-101 and § 97-37-7, respectively.
I'm from Nebraska, now while I'll admit we shouldn't be in the top ten I don't think we are that bad. About the only wonky gun law we have is having to have a pistol purchase permit, costs $5 and is good for 3 years and exempts you from background checks for all firearm purchases. We have no magazine limits, no restriction on NFA, constitutional carry, a permit recognized in 30+ other states. How we are worse than Oregon, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, I have no idea.

Weirdly, as relates to NY, the ENTIRE State is fairly relaxed with gun laws as most rural persons have several rifles and handguns WITHOUT ANY permit. The PROBLEM is NYC, which is a Mecca for Oppression, Restriction and Absurdity.

I'm an FFL in Wisconsin and I'm shocked Wisconsin is ranked that bad. Here in Wisconsin open carry is legal, we have conceal carry and all you need to qualify for conceal carry is hunter safety course. There is no magazine bans or any trigger bans. We also have no red flag laws and you don't need a permit to buy a handgun. Most of my customers that come into the store leave with there handgun 5 minutes after doing a simple 4473 and state handgun form which is basically same questions as a 4473. There is no registration of handguns in our state. There is also no assault weapon bans of any type. You also can drive with a shotgun or rifle in your window un cased as long as it not loaded. We also have the Castle Doctrine for defending yourself at home. Police can also not even check to see if a person has a conceal carry permit unless they have a legal reason to do it. Police officers can actually be charged with a crime if they do.
And no restrictions on private sales either.
Here in New Jersey even pepper spray is illegal,to comply with the law It has to be a certain amount, anything that can cause bodily injury Is classified as weapon and you can be charged for possession
Regardless, of how some organization or magazine ranks the best states, I am very pleased with my state of citizenship - Georgia! We certainly beat my former state of Florida. The city of Atlanta makes all of us look bad.

I recently defected from the Commiewealth of Marxachusetts, fleeing to Arkansas earlier this summer. I escaped that hellhole just in the nick of time. The difference here is like night and day. I am enjoying the scenic beauty of the Ozarks, friendly people, lack of traffic, low taxes, lower cost of living (especially housing) and the slower pace of life here. It's nice to live in a place where my rights are respected.
The wife and I considered New Hampshire. The wife didn't like the long winters up there. New Hampshire is CURRENTLY a very gun friendly state. However, I am concened that it won't stay that way much longer. New Hampshire politics is heavily influenced by large numbers of Massholes moving up there and taking their liberal voting habits with them. Yes, NH has no sales or income tax. That said, property taxes are astronomical.
We live close to the Missouri line. We also consdered moving there. I'd give a slight edge to Missouri over Arkansas for Second Amendment issues. Missouri's efforts to pushback on Federal overreach with their Second Amendment Preservation Act is very commendable.
AR actually has a law similar to the MO one. Google AR Act 1012. It doesn't go as far as the MO one did, but it also wasn't challenged by the feds. I think in this case, AR took it just to the line, where MO crossed the line. AR basically says that if it isn't enacted by Congress, then it isn't enforceable in the state, which is backed up by the recent Supreme Court overturning of the Chevron Doctrine.

New resident to Illinois here, previously from Florida, and California before that (I was stationed there and bought my first firearm in 2020). The differences are night and day. People in Florida are not afraid of guns and the beautiful thing about Florida is the diverse amount of immigrants that are now citizens that embrace the 2nd amendment . I used to work sales part time at a gun store and I can’t tell you have many citizens from Cuba, Venezuela, Honduras, Europe, Canada etc fully embrace the 2nd amendment. I could tell you countless stories of people living through dictatorship, famine, coupes, and everything else that is a cautionary tale for us here in the US.
Now that I’m in Illinois, it’s as if you hear of lawful firearms ownership in whispers and only with close friends. I am going the the DL process (which is upwards to 15 days), to then applying for the FOID card just to be able to buy guns and ammo (another 30 days minimum) and then applying for a CCL (30-90 days!)
There is no age requirement in NH to own (not purchase from a FFL) or carry if you lawfully allowed too
