I think I’ve depicted what the costumes for the dancers represent. The spikes on the headpieces represent uprooted trees from the winds, the capes represent the winds or clouds of dust, and the rest is the storm itself🌪
The tornado scene was visually good but it was pretty rushed. I think a more extended period of time would have put the acrobatic work to better use! At least the dancing and music was amazing and seeing Shanice on visible wires.
I agree, but it was rushed. the original "Tornado" lasts about 3 or 4 minutes. I think the should've focused on a lot more dancing like the original, but this scene was good for what it is. :3

Oh god when she went up in the air I felt that
0:32 that’s the scene that shows the most life to me
the tornado scene was pretty amazing but it was kinda rushed
I agree. Both this and the Winged Monkeys/Warriors felt too short for me to enjoy it.
1:05 Goosebumps! 😱
I love this production!

Tony Lewis Williams I think it was good for what it was too. I didn't even see the original stage version
Elijah Underwood Well it was real dancing to me at least and it would have been better if it had real ballet movements.
+Elijah Underwood They're Cirque de Soliel peformers. pretty sure they know what a bit more about REAL dancing than any of us here.
Tony Lewis Williams I think so too plus I've seen some of their work before.
When 6 more tornadoes came I said in my head uhoh this will get ugly😐
Now this is what I call hip-hop music
Bless Charlie Smalls
Bruh I remember watching this in elementary school and for some reason my class died laughing at the tornado part I’m now like a senior in Highschool.
There are people in costumes who are dancing to the tornado music.
Disney Rules Wow! I thought they were real tornadoes! 😅
@@star_skaterr8401 Same.
Yes, the floor is made of floor.
@@finleyforevermore What?
@@disneyrules7808 Not to be rude or anything, but it's fairly obvious that these are dancers in costumes, and not actual tornadoes.
originallly Toto was with Dorothy but not in this version.
Maybe they don't want dodo on the floor
This was non fiction
+Keith Warren in the movie Toto went with Dorothy to Oz in the original Broadway version he does not
Maybe they didn't want 💩 on the floor
Seeing Toto in the promos was a bit waste but leaving Toto out of most of the show was not big of a deal.
I've seen this movie and I do not understand why there are several tornadoes
Probably to make the scene even scarier.
Yup
It's not a movie it's a play
This is a dance....ballet...because it's musical theatre....that just so happens to be televised...that's why there is "more than one tornado"
They symbolize the dust and wind around her ,to resemble her getting taken up by the storm.. It would stupid if there was one
This isn’t like the tornado scene in the film with Diana Ross
It was a ballet/dance performance in the Broadway version. The original one was longer though.
