    When you close the satchel, you should turn the screen to face the velcro.

    A great and thorough review. I, too, like the flat water bottle.

    Use the extra velcro with cord to hold up the opened in tripod mode.

    This company seems to be making some great strides in their product development. So happy you are able to share them with us and your ever-helpful reviews! This looks terrific! Thank you, Teoh! :)

    Beautiful scenery! Nice bag. I am very excitedly waiting for their art satchel to arrive. I might want the smaller bag in the future.

      I Amazoned it. Yes it I'm coining that term lol. There's one below. They come in various sizes comparable to drink bottles. There are more suggestions for rectangular water bottles, water flasks etc on this page..

    Nice bag. Looking at the strap and loop configuration, I recon you could easily rig it up as a backpack if you looped the strap through the top handle and clipped to the bottom loops, you would effectively have an "A" strap configuration. I think this pack is a more practical Sketch bag for daily use than the original - when you're not carrying the kitchen sink! The other bag is probably great for professional working artists but for me its just too much - begging you to load it with stuff you'l never use.

      +Peter Sobocki You can certainly use this as a bag pack if you can find double straps for it.

      Just Amazon for "backpack straps" there are lots of options. Personally I'd go for straps with plenty of loops so that I could attach small items.

      I'm guessing you could use 1 strap in a diagonal fashion on the front and carry it as a backpack.

    Nice Review of the bag - made me get out my original and take it out on location - these are well thought out bags and this video shows the features well

    Maybe that is what that extra strap is for to hold that other side that is hanging down when you have the bag attached to the tripod..?..

    Ok so I love the video, and I don’t know if you will be able to respond to this because it is a few years old. If you can humor me, I know everyone is different and you use different stuff now. If you could only get one which one would it be, Slate Mini or Darsie Beck field easel for traditional urban sketching. Thank you for all you do!!

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Darsie Beck Field Easel is lighter so that gets my pick.

    Since you can hook up this bag to a tripod, I wonder if 2 velcro straps should be designed on the front somewhere to carry a small tripod? Just a thought.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jason Mullins Oh yeah, the forgot to measure the downside that this bag has no way to carry the tripod 😂

    • @jasonmullins6638
      @jasonmullins6638 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Teoh Yi Chie no worries..it would be nice but I guess not that necessary. I just thought it odd that one minute a person is carrying the bag and the next scene a tripod is setup for it!

    Do you still use this? Do you still recommend it? Would you recommend something else instead for plein air sketching/painting?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've given this away. Anyway, this is good if you want a compact bag to bring all your supplies. Oh, I noticed the material (surface coating) may deteriorate with time but I'm not sure if it's due to the high humidity here in Singapore.

    I have the step-by-step portable pan kit that you have.. and just ordered the Slate today... if you are standing, have you figured out how to mount or hold it when you are painting??

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Stickler Hudson I hold the watercolor set close to me while using it to push down the bag so that it does not move.
