Spray in bed liner, technology package, heads up display, rear view camera mirror, heated and cooled seats, adaptive cruise control, etc it was listed for $65k and I walked out the door $57k with an additional warranty. Today that same vehicle basically but a 2023 is MSRP'd at $71,000 with an $8,000 market adjustment. Not to mention my interest rate then is half of what it would be now. I bought a Ram Rebel in 2020 and tried to get the 3 year deferred payment financing Ram advertised on TV . Then the salesman handed me over to the finance dept. I own my home free and clear, have zero debt and a credit score that averages 800+ but somehow the Ram finance manager said my credit score wasn't high enough to qualify for the delayed financing offer. Otherwise it was all false advertising and a bait and switch. So then I offered to pay cash and the finance manager started stuttering and brought back a contract about 20 pages long full of small print. So I sat down and started reading it. Three hours later I concluded they had added $1,800 dollars to the agreed upon price and demanded they take it back. The finance guy started to argue with me and I just shut him down said its very simple either you honor the original price you quoted or I'll walk out the door which is it? They reduced the price and I have enjoyed driving the truck but after that experience my next vehicle won't be a Mopar.

All of the manufacturers have the same problem, a little thing called greed. None of the vehicles are worth what they want for them, just look at all the issues people are having with all of them. They use the cheapest materials, have poor engineering, sloppy assembly practices and reliability issues. We have a local Chevy dealer here, the lot stays full of used late model vehicles with low miles, something is not right with that kind of situation even considering that some people trade every couple of years.

All trucks from the big 3 are charging $85,000 for a pick up. A half ton with a regular gas engine can hit $70,000! Not every8ne can afford them.but people are buying so priced will rise to consumer resistance and they have not found the ceiling yet.
As for Ram, I bought a 2010 Ram 2500 Laramie Cummins that was so top end it sat in the show room floor and bot outside. It was the biggest piece of shit. Little things started failing right off the start. Then it started leaking oil alevery other month. Six trips to the dealer for leaks. Then in a trio across Nevada, I crossed Aystin on Hwy 50, thr Loneliest Highway in America, when thr water pump failed. When it failed the pulley seized snapping the serpentine belt. I was dead on the road. I walked 1 Mike back to town and found a Cafe open on a Sunday morning and I was able to call and get a tow truck in my AAA membership. Got it towed back to Fallon. The next morning I was able to get it towed back to Reno for repairs. What a piece of crap.
The interior was meh. I had the worst back pain sitting on the seats for any length of time. The interior was sort of cheap. Something was constantly squeaking in the center console. Then I noticed thr fender flares were failing and not sticking to the fender wells. Always something. I t utned it back in and graded it for another vehicle. Biggest piece of garbage I've owned. Ironically thr second biggest piece of garbage? Th3 car right before the Ram, a Toyota 4Runner I bought brand new from the dealer. First 3 years were meh. Then years 4-6 was a constant return to the dealer. $3,600 worth of various problems later, I got rid of it. Toyota. Oh what a feeling.

The older 2500 and 3500 Trucks are selling like crazy I have been offered 10K more than I paid for my 2005 3500 nondual wheel 5.9 Cummings Truck
The decline in full size truck sales is direct;y connected to gas prices and interest rates it's not just Trucks that are declining the Car market as a whole is going to tank right into the toilet in the next 2 years if your looking to buy a used car or truck wait until the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024 the prices are going to fall like a rock it will be worse than 2008 the real estate market is not going to crash this time but Vehicles will during Covid the dealers and banks were giving loans to anyone with a pulse now we are seeing massive repo's I work in the Automotive industry and there have been more car and truck repo's in the last 8 months then all of 2020 and 2021 and its not over yet it's just getting started the worst is yet to come very bad for banks and dealers buy great for buyers many car dealers are going to go out of business Carvana is doomed the bought way to many cars and trucks Car max is is also in trouble if you work ant either one of those company's you should be forming an exit plan

Pricing is an issue but I’m not seeing a ton of inventory where I’m at. Most half tons being sold have after market items added and now they want $100k for a lifted black widow edition big horn

Worse than the price is the craftsmanship of the trucks. Transmissions going out before 40k miles. Diesel engines blowing up.

  • @MRSketch09
    @MRSketch09 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, I've seen people talking about their 2022 3500 auto Transmissions are going out..
So if they put a better transmission behind their power-train. I do think that would help.
OR if they did something crazy & threw manuals back in their trucks? I know ram truck were popular for holding out that long,
it'd probably bring back their niche customer base.. and make some sales? (Okay that's probably a pipe dream?)

They charge way too much for their trucks. The prices insurance companies won't pay that price. It is stupid to pay that much for a truck. When you drive it off the lot it is only worth half the price you pay for it.

Maybe consider Ben that Ram HEMI has just runs its course…5.7 or 6.4, nothing distinct about the platform. The 6.4 has had a number of problems at the 100k mark and it drinks too much fuel. Cummins in HD is a great engine, not many fans of the transmission. What about a hybrid diesel electric? Love the rear coil innovation, PW off road needs a diesel with a winch. Price, price, price… that’s I bought an x5 and kept my Tundra with 220k miles, runs fine, tows like a beast instead of buying a Ram. I hope to buy one someday, until then Mopar in my garage is my Jeep Rubicon for now.

Just purchased a Laramie 2500. There was only 1 in my large city that had the gasoline engine, and there were 3 available in the capital. I’m not sure, maybe there are a few more state wide? Going by availability, I’m definitely not seeing a lack of sales in HD trucks. This is probably more accurate for half ton trucks, there were plenty of those on the lot and they are only $10k less than what mine cost.

They may need a new power train but the Hurricane isn’t it. They’ve long needed the 6.4 from the Challenger/Charger in the 1500 truck. Have absolutely zero interest in a small displacement turbo engines after owning an ecoboost.

Once Stellantis took over, they went CRAZY on pricing. My 2017 fully loaded Wrangler Sahara was $45,000 and I got it with everything. A 2023 would be $20,000 more....I'm not even kidding

Similar story here. I bought a 2016 Sahara with the "Backcountry" package. All options; auto, nav, hard top, fancy radio , tow package, gears rear locker, even the side airbags. $45,200. Now a similar JL add almost $20k more. Loaded diesel Rubicons $70k. 392? $85k. It's madness.
