CR Scan Otter - Testing in direct sun light

On this testing, CR Scan Otter doesn't work under strong sun light (the kind that hurts your eyes) but it does work in sunshade (under the tree). So, please keep in mind when scanning outdoor object, should be done in cloudy day, morning or late evening.

How does the otter perform with a black bicycle frame without sunlight. Can you test that ?

I've scanned many black objects, Otter would see it as if it's white color. (No direct sun light.) You shouldn't have issue scanning black bicycle frame. The magnetic marker won't work with CF or ALU frame, so you would need to apply markers directly on to the frame.

Yeah I came to the same conclusion with the otter scanning my car. Ended up with a nice and very accurate scan towards the end of the day since no more direct sunlight. Just no way to directly scan in the sun. Way too much in the way for it.

Why not just measure a cord lenght?

A larger pipe, when bending it will have a vary radius, not constantly along its length. 10-80mm. Measuring chords also need to measure the highest peak which brings a lot of error for round pipe.
