Can relate. It's either you play against a gold-armored ultra-nightmare aimbot-like slayer or you get ur arse whooped by pro-cybersport-class-demons like in that "Battle Schmoes" video. VERY rarely does it pair you actually well against opponent(s) of similar or only slightly higher skill. Most times you just commit die in the first 30 secs of the match while damaging like 20% enemy's health.
See that's my complaint. Very few matches are back and forth it's usually being destroyed one way or being the destroyer. Needs work but I still have a lot of fun playing it

When you get that dream team of 3 people who are all about equal skill and every match (even when rotating) goes to best-of-5 though, it's amazing. IdSoft plz just implement better matchmaking so lower level players aren't just immediately put off this mode the first match they play

@@susgaming.4540I was playing and ran into the same dude twice who used this tactic and wiped the floor with me and my partner. I fuckin try it and I win a single round but lose the whole game. WTF is this game mode? I actually wish the doom 2016 multiplayer was still in the game compared to this.
Archvile ain’t suck u just have to use noxious hazard and his lake of fire to kill slayer quickly

I legit never lost a battlemode match the slayer is way too op and the devs always nerf demons for some reason
Its a matter of extremes. Either the slayer is the fastest monkey in the west or hes just not fast enough and the demons can easily overwhelm him with minimak coordination

That is mostly true because if the demons arent working together its super damn easy but when you go up against a good demon team. Its super hard to find a good demon team

As someone who loves battle mode I cannot agree more with these people. Except for the original comment. When the demons work together not much is worse for the slayer.

It’s been an entire year, battlemode 2.0 released and it’s essentially the same.
It's just so bad. Lol
Archviles are either a pathetic aitting ducks or annoying shits to play against. Fire walls on choke points and using the teleport well can destroy the slayers spirit. The upgrade to make the lake of fire do the funi vulnerable is crucial too, ballista shots go from 500 to 375 and tox becomes 18 damage per tic. Very cool
on the maykr map you can win instantly with archvile if the slayer teleports

Part of the reason why i stop playing battle mode
Archvile is the most powerful of the demons if you know how to use it well. Always keep your teleport ready, and keep out of sight from the Slayer. A trick I personally use is to let my fellow demon out pressure on him and teleport myself just behind him while he's retreating and throw up a flame wall to both corner and damage him. Then immediately cast lake of fire and with Broiling heat equipped, it's almost always a guaranteed win

Archivile Strong suit is the fire wall with the reflect upgrade, if the slayer gets too close just pull up the wall and watch the slayer kill themselves with a ballista shot

i dont play battlemode often but i love to play as the archvile. you can bait the slayer into dumb pushes and trap him with fire wall, toxic zone, and then teleport behind him and spawn demons to trap him even further. nothing personal kiddo

Once upon a time the archvile could spit fire out at a highly effective rate
I once got steamrolled by a slayer that was VERY good at moving around with all of his movement abilities. He also had the gold Slayer Armor all the weapons. So yeah, he hit us like an 18 Wheeler full of boulders.

Whenever I play slayer I always get paired up with double golden marauders but when I play demon I go up against golden makyr skin aimbot with a 2 year old as my teammate
The Mode is just so weird. As someone who mastered slayer mechanics youjust quickswitch a deamon in 2 seconds and win.
first game I ever played I just beat campaign on hurt me plenty and a few levels on nightmare and I thought I was bad cause the VERY FIRST MATCH I played was against a level 200 ultra nightmare finisher
