@@GCAbleism158 brooo i know EXACTLY what you're talking about. dude scooby doo mystery inc is also such a good show. i choose to believe that crystal cove and twin peaks are in the same cinematic universe.
The mastery of a reference!! As a kid you never get it, but as an adult it hits you like a ton of bricks... a good, "OOOOOOHHHHH", notsalgic ton of bricks.
I'll show you what getting hit with a ton of bricks feels like if you need it for reference. May finally teach you the difference been being literal and an expression.
You know what's funny? I remember this sequence vividly from when I was a kid and only recently started checking out Twin Peaks related things with the new series set to premier. Anyway, I stumbled across Cooper's dream sequence and instantly knew that's where The Simpsons got this from.
As someone who finished all of twin peaks recently I appreciate more of this show for being faithful to the source material. Like even the shadow in the background is accurate.
I'm disappointed that there's no comments talking about Alf Clausen's fantastic parody of the Twin Peaks soundtrack! Like always, Alf delivers nothing shy of fantastic work.
ahhh, his hair!!! I always knew this was from Twin Peaks (must have seen it mentioned somewhere), but I only watched Twin Peaks recently so I never thought anything of that specific bit...
+Vitalidze if you saw the original episode from Twin Peaks Special Agent Dale Cooper falls asleep. has a really weird dream (this was an exact take on it) and wakes up with that kind of hair.
I finally understood it! it's a shame not to understand this kind of jokes until you understand the language. I wonder how many jokes did I miss for watching the translated versions...
I watched Simpsons as a little kid with my brother not understanding the references. Its fun to watch now that I've caught up on 20 years of pop culture references
Yeardley Smith was recorded saying the normal lines, then they had them reversed, then they had her recite the backwards speech so they could reverse it again for the performance.
I remember seeing this segment when I was younger. And the way she talked or she said burns’ suit while holding the card really freaked me out when I was younger. I never understood what she was really saying when her voice was slurred like that. It kind of creeped me out.😬 Edit: I also always thought she said, “Burn the suit!” 2nd edit: I should also say that I’ve never sat down and watched The Simpsons. This just happened to be on 📺 once and I saw it.
00:52 Look at the attention to detail in this scene; they even have that shadow (was it supposed to be a bird) 'flying' behind the red curtain just like during the first appearance of Cooper and the dancing dwarf in the red room in the original Twin Peaks (Cooper's dream sequence in Season 1).
When I first saw this episode I thought Chief Wiggum was gonna wake up from his dream in the Black Lodge and realise it was Sideshow Bob (parody of Killer Bob)
Watching this as a child with absolutely no knowledge of Twin Peaks whatsoever, I wish I could remember what I thought 🤣 but I suppose kids are quite good at accepting whatever apparent randomness they're presented with!
it took me 20 years to finally watch twin peaks and understand this reference

Regardless of the Twin Peaks reference, the whole "This suit burns better" thing is quite clever.
Why
@@alexl.4362 the reason I thought it was clever was that she said "this suit burns better, look" but she is talking backwards and they are reversing the audio. if you reverse the words she says "look better burns suit" so "have a better look at burns suit"
Gosh, the latin-american translation was literal and this scene made no sense at all when I was a kid
@@holahagocovers 😂😂😂😂
This is great. They even had the shadow flying across the curtains
my favorite touch is that his hair is messed up just like Cooper's when he wakes up
also the floor is yellowish as it was in the first season scenes
I'm embarrassed to say, I've been watching this episode since it aired in '95, and I never caught that.
She didnt say let's rock
They also put the same World Fair uranium glass Saturn lamp on the desk by the sofa, which features in Twin Peaks
