Just so you know, it would be VERY FUNNY if they used Squidward’s House from Good Neighbors to do a POWER⚡️RANGERS Parody Episode, with Jason Faunt as a Guest Star!
Squidward always has a hard time at the Krusty Krab. I believe this episode is teaching people that they shouldn't work in a dead-end job and do their dream job. Squidward has enough talent to make live his dream.
A modern SB episode that not only brings back a nostalgic location without nostalgia-baiting but also treats Squidward's character right is such a bright ass shining diamond in the rough.
I like how Weiner Takes All is a complete twist on the episode Salty Sponge. SpongeBob works at the Salty Spitoon and Squidward works at Weenie Hut Jr. Love both of them for their amazing plot progression
The combination of these two segments really demonstrates why I find HD SpongeBob to be so fascinating. In one corner, we’ve got roughly the seventh example of a very specific type of “annoy Squidward” episode where the entire creative process seems to start and stop at what kind of locale that Sponge and Pat can annoy their neighbor with (so far this has included a hotel, a swimming pool, a plane, and now an elevator, among others), and seven instances in, this new variation is *really* starting to wear thin, as they’re all basically the same episode, just with the bear minimum difference of the setting. But in the other corner, we have a Squidward episode that is actually about *him* as a character and where he fits in the show’s world. And even with every single viewer can predict that he’ll be back at the Krusty Krab by episode’s end - probably even a good chunk of the kids watching will also instinctively know - they may not be able to predict the specific outcome, namely that they decide to robotize him. There’s even a bit of lore for us now-adults in the inclusion of Weenie Hut Jr’s. Plus we already had a Salty Spatoon episode so it’s only fair. These two segments being back-to-back says a lot about how the writers do their jobs. Sometimes they actually do things with their characters, other times they just get lazy. But I’ll gladly take this approach over the way it was when I was a kid - as in, seasons 6-9a, not exactly an era I appreciate in hindsight
I really appreciate how you actually give reasons for why a modern SpongeBob episode is good or bad instead of just immediately hating it. I hope Nickelodeon can give us more good episodes, especially for Squidward.
@@almightyk11 yeah squidward constantly gets beat on for absolutely no reason but the show forces these random, bad reasons that squidward “deserves” it
something i like is that squidward ACTUALLY did well, and he couldve been in a much better position if he was just humble if he refused the promotion(or chose to use the knowledge he has when fixing the robots) he would have been in a much better place this makes you WANT to see him fail, you WANT to humble him, as well as showing that if you make decisions without thinking, or just with ego, you will fall
I really appreciate the quality content on cartoons, probs my favorite channel on the website. i’ve also been very encouraged with Seasons 13-15 even if they occasionally just have absolute duds, Spongebob has charm again !
I'm gonna be honest, Season 14 and 15 were step ups from Season 13. Even if they are still not as fun and creative as Seasons 9-12, they are still pretty good.
It's interesting how this episode pairing reminds of the pairing of "Skill Crane/Good Neighbors", mainly in how it's another case of a good Squidward episode being paired with a bad one.
honestly this video kinda shows on the real problems with modern spongebob, sometimes you can get a good episode but immediately it follows up with a bad episode. modern spongebob is hella inconsistent lol
The episodes featuring ‘Bassward' and this current one lead me to believe that more stories should explore how Squidward’s suffering is justified. These episodes remind him that it’s not Spongebob or Patrick who causes his misery; instead, it's his own unkind nature and complacency that lead to his distress.
I think Squidward should quit because SpongeBob kept on keeping things going that the other character doesn't want. It's hard to explain. Think about it like this Ms Puffy gave SpongeBob an inspirational phrase that actually helped him pass, they should've kept SpongeBob's license instead of failing him again which gets too old for the show
Being away from SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs was what I liked about Chum Fricassee as well as Wiener Takes All. Squidward had nothing to blame for his failure but his own ego.
If I had a nickel everytime one of the best modern episodes was paired with one of the worst modern episodes. Very nice to see at least one more modern Squidward episode pop up as one of the greatest, even if it’s paired with another rotten apple.
I really enjoy these episode comparisons, where you take episodes with similar premises and compare the execution as I think it's one of the most effective ways to provide constructive criticism.
I have for the life of me never heard any ever mention robot and monster. I remember watching that show in the middle of the night when I was little. To be honest until a couple years ago i thought it was a fever dream
Most season 15 episodes are focused on Squidward, witch is a very underrated character my favorite ones are Wiener takes all Squidness protection And unlikely stuck in a elevator
not gonna lie, in the robot-squiadward episode just from how you talked about it, i thought the robots were gonna rebel against squiadward and somehow still make him a servant to them, and then he'd find a way to escape and go back to krusty krab which im not wrong about, but not right about either
Haven’t watched in a while and I must say, this new animation style of SpongeBob is not it. It’s honestly hard to look at especially knowing how good it used to be Edit: upon further inspection, it’s the color palette that I hate. Also all the goofy ass faces lol.
I gave up watching SpongeBob a long time ago, but sometimes I watch it to remember my old days, but it's sad that they didn't push it further, but still refer to old references in the last seasons. Honestly, the episode "Mandatory Music" from season 13 was better because it ended with Squidward's victory because the audience finally loved him. Yes, he played it over his nose as SpongeBob, but he finally found his place. Although I really wonder if the current creators, especially Wallet, really hate Squidward so much that he can't get a single episode of his own where he wins. Definitely a big disappointment. Squidward was treated better by Plankton in at least one episode than he was in all his years working for Eugene Krabs.
It was a dvd movie where they go sled racing and he gets frozen in ice then there’s a giant stop motion kraken monster that episode is also the same episode where they go sled meme came from where plankton says I will rip this safe atom by atom molecule by molecule then it explodes
@ oh yeah, Frozen Face Off. That was one of the rare great specials during their flop era AND came out during Nickelodeon’s best summer, at least in my lifetime.
earlier spongebob episodes with a spongebob and squidward dynamic were always more about squidward being a cynical adult while spongebob and patrik were immature and full of whimsy. they sometimes got in squiwards face, yes, but they weren't so moronic to blatantly not know how to behave in a normal capacity. they also meant well, but messed it up. now they just seem outright disregarding everything normal and harming squidward in the process. the whole dynamic got very flanderized from every clip I see and it seems very boring, but if kids these days still love it who am I to judge.
Unless it involves Squidward getting a win for once or actually being happy at the end, it's not a good Squidward episode. EDIT: NOPE! It's more Squidward torture pr0n rubbish and of course he suffers in the end because of SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs.
I agree. Squidward didn't win in the end, it's not a good episode despite all the troubles he's had. Also, Squilliam hasn't appeared for fifteen years as Squidward's main antagonist, and his girlfriend Squilvia has remained a one-episode character, because the current director isn't a Squidward fan, at least as far as I can tell. Definitely a big disappointment, and it's a good thing I gave up on SpongeBob a long time ago.
12:17 Weenie Hunt Sr. Owner (Weenie J. Wiener) = Elon Musk Weenie Hunt Robots = Tesla Robots *Proceeds to get Sledgehammer, Blowtorch, Water, & a Metallic Baseball Bat to prevent it from being real*

better than the torture eps for him that's for sure

Well said
You mean have enough talent to Be the low minimum of a chance of a dream 😂😂😂

The episode isn't teaching that at all.

Not nostagia baiting smh

Absolutely, I'd love to see barely explored locations take a forefront so long as they understand what to do with it (so basically not Squidiot Box)

You know what bothers me about those bad "annoy Squidward" episodes the most?
Squidward is somehow depicted as the bad guy in all of them.
@@almightyk11 yeah squidward constantly gets beat on for absolutely no reason but the show forces these random, bad reasons that squidward “deserves” it
What about april fools episode
Ironic that this episode has an anti AI message when Nick just used AI in a Spongbob hosted Slimetime episode.

Yeah Squidward maybe a talented person but that means jacks if you can’t control your own ego
New video!
So excited! I love the research you put into these videos.
Thank you so much!

Shoutout to the spongebob cast for still doing amazing job even in the modern times YEAR 26 GIVE IT UP FOR YEAR 26!!!

After hundreds of years of bad modern spongebob episodes, we Finally get to see squidward quitting his miserable Job

I PREDICTED SQUIDWARD IN WEENIE HUT JRS IRL but as a fnaf parody.
Still better than season 6 SpongeBob
Tbh it’s not hard to be better than an average season 6 episode
I swear some writers don’t look at critiques of their episodes. If they did they’d stop making the same predictable painful garbage
Kinda wish they didn't turn squidward into a robot at the end that left a sour taste in my mouth, but the rest of the episode was pretty good.
