Just a bit for your information: those kinds of sharpeners can seem to work, but every time you "caught" in a stroke, is a nick in the blade which you're making worse. After a few times, the knife's edge will become more serrated and cut less but saw more. I'd suggest to invest in a decent sharpening stone, and learn to use it. It'll be a lot better in the long run, especially for your knife. ;).

im surprised by that, some of the ceramic sharpening rods can do fairly well
