I love the horror elements of Star Wars, it's such a perfect combination that sets it apart from other sci-fi horror
Its because unlike Alien,Dead Space Star Wars is for the family not just adults so horror in it is a bigger deal.
honestly that would make for better content if they wanted to make more movies or series shows
Man the unknown regions is becoming more and more fascinating to me every day and I find it one of the most interesting and unexplored parts of Star Wars and I can’t get enough of it and also great video stupendous keep up the great work
Couldn't agree more!
1:22 Darth Venom
Blech.... no words... ugh... shudders.
Sometimes, just having a vivid imagination is utterly terrifying! I can see this as real, as just waiting for us all.
Star Wars equivalent of Venom another awesome species that should be used in more stories
Mnggal-Mnggal is a favorite of mine: I’ve been working on a concept wherein the ancient evil would be encountered, and took inspiration from a number of sources.
Unknown Regions is the Mordor to the Star Wars Galaxy. The Mnngal Mnngal, The Chiss Ascendancy/ Imperial Remnant, Sorcerers or Rhand, Yuzhan Vong, Starweirds, Nihil Marauder’s hidden Fortress, Endalaan, Iokath, Illum, and Rakata Prime.
Every hack story writer's dream. 🌌
In my SW fanfiction I used mnggal-mnggal as a pseudo-antagonist against one of my characters during their early years before they grow into the main antagonist of the latter novel. The disturbing aspect of the short story i felt, is that my character is pretty powerful and in tune with the force at this time (nearing Anakin ROTS level), but just this mere weakened essence of mnggal-mgnnal is enough to challenge him.
Mind you in this story, it's not so clear that the essence is exactly mnggal-mnggal, so much that the character senses there's something more to this force-imbued object that was mentally manipulating him(put him basically in a force-matrix/genjutsu for 5 years in his mind, but 5 weeks in real-time). What's I thought felt scary about this is that the object was just laying dormant on that desolate planet for an unknown amount of time, waiting for some another source of power to feed on. Thankfully due to plot armor my character made it out and destroyed that thing :)
anyhow, great video Stupendous Wave, yet again another banger in the cosmic horror realm of Star War Legends deep-space lore :)
Where can I read your fan fictions?
The horrors. Well done, sir. Incredible content for real. You have given me an entirely new appreciation for the stories behind the franchise.
Glad you like them!
This species scares me l love this video your one of my favorite star wars channel in all of TH-cam
And here I was thinking of using Abeloth as an overarching BBEG in my Star Wars TTRPG. This would be a much cooler BBEG if I can figure out how to work it in. Maybe make it like The Flesh that Hates SCP as a start or something... Very creepy bio though!
So is this character worse than Abeloth?
I used to Sidious was the Satan of Star Wars...But no... This is it, this would make even Sidious take a few steps back...
Even the Zilo beast scared Sidious
Too bad Disney to scared or to incompetent to give us Star Wars content like this I wish I wish I wish
And don’t get me started on the old republic it’s hard being a Star Wars fan but I can’t give up I can’t it will get better one day
Personally, I'm glad Disney isn't touching stuff like this. Whether it's timidity or incompetence, either way they'd make a mess of it.
Best to leave it for other creators who won't frak it up - or even just leave it as a spooky "here be dragons" mystery for the fans to speculate about and come up with their own adventures.
@@tba113 they got to do better but I respect your thoughts on it
I feel a Kong v's Zilla type movie coming on where all the Jedi & all the Sith need to join forces to defeat a common enemy, to some kickass music of course
This reminds of that one episode of the Next Generation where Troi crashes on a unexplored planet, the others have to get past what is basically a puddle of pure, sentient evil.
I was feeling DS9's Founders mixed with Halo's Flood
IDK I would just use the death star on that thing
Reminds me of The Thing
Yo.. i knew venom was a sith lord 1:26
remember the rhyme Dannykin, if blue or green they're on the team
Ah yes... I remember watching Eckhartladders' older video on this particular topic. This and Project Blackwing always made my spine crawl. Haha.
Stupendous Wave what ever happened to your 3rd channel the Horrendous Wave reason I ask is miss those cool scary stories on that channel you uploaded for a while
I was going to ask him if he ever thought of doing a horror channel like a long the lines of Mr NIghtmare.
@@corvus2327 he’s done a few videos on there some about horror and all but I wish he would bring back some more interesting videos that I’m sure would be popular to talk about on his channel if you can I would definitely check it out
I’ll look into starting it back agin once I get some more time! I love Horror stuff and I appreciate you keeping track of the Horrendous Wave 🙏🏻
@@TheStupendousWave yess yeeess
@@TheStupendousWave Seeing you dive into the lore of like American horror story or the Halloween movies would be fun.
Based on Mnggal-Mnggal's appearance as described, I suspect that it may be a nanite-based hivemind. Which would make sense if it is indeed a creation of the celestials and not an extradimensional being as speculated.
What if it's both? An extra-dimensional being or consciousness summoned by the celestials, be it intentionally or by accident, and then bound to a physical form of Force-based techno-goop. That's a wild thought.
11:22 No, I would be worried that a Death Star or Starkiller Base would just spread it around the system and possibly onto the DS or spotter ships. probably better to use a few interdicters to slowly pull the planet into a decaying orbit around it's Star.
Stupendous wave you should definitely do a video on the Anzati species the brain consuming vampires. Also on the colicoids the viscous cannibalistic insectiods that inhabitants Balmorra.
Colla IV
Ngl, if I had been Palpatine, I would have sent the Death Star to the world this thing lives on *first*.😂
Would be funny if the explosion spreads the thing even more to all directions infecting nearby planets, moons, stars, asteroids, etc or even the death star it self xD.
I've read about this a long time ago it's nice to hear the lore again and get a refresher and find out some bits of lore I didn't know thanks wave ❤️
There is a little W40K in star trek and star wars, this is one of them
Start feeding them moldy Taco Bell burritos.
So this is basically something they took right out of Lovecraft. Awesome!
Halloween continues with gruesome monsters in the Archives from TSW, Let’s Go!!!
Keep it going friend 🙏🏻
That's the plan!
Got a good giggle at Darth Venom a minute in. I did think about how the Death Star hitting the planet would either A). get rid of Mnggal Mnggal or just spread it around. It's a relief that it can be destroyed but through chemical means. might need a lot of that.
I think you are spot on with your theory about Waru. I thought the same but I think it’s more connected to beings like the Rozzum. Either extra dimensional or extra galactic like the Vong is my guess.
Ah yes, this abomination. Mnggal-Mnggal would make an excellent horror antagonist, i'd love to have seen it at its prime and terrifying the Celestials.
I hope you do a Drengir Video before the end of the Month.
The Anti-Life Equation
Never heard of this. Awesome. Was this legends cannon on why the unknown regions are hyperspace scrambled then?
Yeah. I’ll stick with symbiotes taking over my body. Mainly Venom, Scream, Lasher, Agony, and Poison
I wish you guys would do a summary of the legends events between empire strikes back and return of the Jedi. I think they’re many fans out there like myself that don’t read comics and don’t understand why Luke is so defeated and then so confident in the beginning of return of the Jedi; all with no master to complete his training
This is awesome! Never knew about it.
7:42 fascinating 🧐
Ah yes, fire the most noble weapon when it comes to destroying monsters and foul aliens that deserve nothing more than the total extinction of their foul beasts.
that is extremely interesting, crazy i never heard of it before
Honestly, given the puppeting of life, the silvery amorphous look, the absorption of living beings, the power, ancient knowledge, and association with the Celestials, I think it has something to do with Abeloth.
always liked the unknown regions so many interesting stuff also good place to say my favorite species the sith purebloods still exist
Alright, last video of yours was on servitors, I really hope these things are a proper tyranid menace in star wars.
And no, the Vong are stupid and don't count.
Edit: Somehow it managed to tick box after box of tyranid traits and still feels like it's own unique thing. Pretty awesome. Not entirely sure why the celestials couldn't exterminatus the place though. You'd think they could just deorbit the planet and let the sun deal with it.
Sounds like a good target for the next death star.
How lovecraftian
sweet rot sounds kinda tasty.
sounds like wine+bog
The entire Jedi order force throwing a giant sub to burn every single trace of null null out of the galaxy
Interesting invention!
Could you do a video on all known lore/a deep dive on the celestials in Star Wars?
So, in the latest Thrawn novels, he is always of course hinting at those terrible things out there he needs to protect the Ascendency from by having a strong organised force to combat it in the known regions. We still don’t know what it is, but I guess it isn’t this as they already know about it? Zahn never refers to this, I guess it’s in comic, but it just raises more questions. What could be worse than this??
So it’s basically John Carpenter’s The Thing 😂 💀
I'm going to admit confusion. So, WE, as external, well-informed observers, get to know these details of Mnggal-Mnggal, but how well known is it in verse? It's often called the Unknown Regions for a reason, and even "regular" beings that live out there, like the Chiss, are extremely secretive; look hiw long it took for people, and us, to even find out what Thrawn's race was called? If the Empire knew about it, I'm a little surprised the Emperor didn't try to weaponize it, but if the New Republic did, and they eventually possessed ships on a similar footing to Star Destroyers, how close do you need to get to bombard a world from orbit? Decommissioning a ship? Rig it with explosives, ala the Lusankya, and droid-guide it in? Can Mnggal-Mnggal even affect droids? Where I'm going with this us, I guess I can see various peoples not wanting to emulate the Empire, and wholesale destroy a planet; Nam Chorios is the source of the Death Seed Plague, and it hasn't been obliterated, but if I DID visit the Droch homeworld, I'd find orbital defense batteries, with some of the biggest guns in space; even the Empire didn't want that spreading, so why hasn't the MM world been blasted, or even just forcefully quarantined? If important people know about it, why do they do nothing? Why hasn't some crime lord made it their own Great Pit of Karkoon, to be violently rid of troubles? Why hasn't some droid on the run gone into hiding there? Why hasn't the world been wrecked...more do than Mnggal-Mnggal has already done, and can it separately Infect other worlds to such a degree, or would bits of it, so separated from the mass, die in those other worlds, like it's Zombies do?
1:14 Dude just ate something really spicy 🔥
Maybe Sidious knew this was out there and made the Death Star to wipe out infected planets.
Reminds me of the black wing virus a little mainly the gray goo and animated body part anyway
Flamethrower hands down
Its like a mix of venom and the flood
the Ing and the X-parasite from Metroid, my advice, create a predatory but mortal parasitic being that is designed specifically to hunt mnggal-mnggal. one which the young stage look like a certain hovering jellyfish with teeth, absorbing the very energy which keeps Mnggal-Mnggal alive. Once that parasite is gone, the artificially created one can remain on its planet.
just in case.
That requires a species with the scientific capabilities of the Chozo. My suggestion is to abandon life entirely and create some kind of synthetic army to destroy it. Maybe make them out of some kind of liquid metal so that they can do a better job than a droid.
The Deathstar blowing up the planet might just slowly spread frozen droplets throughout space. They could get stuck to ships and be spread through hyperspace to other planets. It's probably better to just leave well enough alone and avoid the solar system the creature resides in.
problem is the creature is not content with being on it's own little planet and is trying to spread throughout the galaxy. Honestly, give it a few thousand years and it probably will consume most of the galaxy if left unchecked.
Noll Noll makes me think of a bad splice of zombies, the symbiote from Spider-Man and Venom, and that thing from The Raft in the Creepshow 2 movie!
This is a great story.. perfect for Halloween!! I wish that they made Star Wars movies like this rather than what we got for the other 3 ( you know what I mean).
That's is the first time anyone said the death star had cleansing power
Maybe Palpatine had a reason for those superweapons? That abomination is reason 1. The 2nd would be the Vong.
All the flamethrowers.
The Death Star would be the perfect weapon against that planet.
Can it wait until this gets a full book series spanning dozens of books
Planescape cross-over: It came from the Grey Waste...a creation of the Baernoloths! Whether it got away from them or they released it is unknown.
Sounds like Mug Phow needs a visit by the Death Star.
My greatest question, does this monster have access to the force or does it wield some alternate form of strength? How would a force wielder fight against it?
Truly a mysterious and powerful creature.
For a while I thought the hyperspace barrier was up because of the yuuzhan vong...but the knoll knoll would be worse i think
Here’s the scariest part of Mnggal-Mnggal, he is Abeloth’s brother and the most clever of Tilotny’s children
Just realized there's also enough messed up stuff in Star Wars to start the apocalypse if anything went wrong.
If this thing is more dangerous than Abaloth, how come she was the one locked behind a ring of black holes? You'd think that if this thing, and the planet it called home was so dangerous, the smartest thing to do would be to try and create an artificial (or even real) black hole close enough to the planet to destroy it and pull it in.
Id be team death star if it was promoted to blow that world up
Palpatine’s space gun woulda been the best weapon against such a planet
Anti-force = pulling
Interesting
Sounds like Gravemind from Halo.
Should introduce this to the Tyranids
Has no one seriously thought to send like a droid fleet to push those ships into the planet? Moreover a droid army armed with flamethrowers would seriously mitigate the spread and be like a really effective counter. You're welcome the whole galaxy.
I was thinking the same thing. Send droids to knock all the ships in orbit out of orbit & crashing into the planet, then send in the droids to burn anything that survived.
@commoguru I guess the greatest masters of the force thought it was more practical to essentially cut the galaxy in half XD
@@jasonlow6943 that also implies that there's things that were too horrible to even attempt to confront that were also sealed away we just simply havent heard about yet.
Considering fire can become plasma at high heat, lightsabers should do the same damage to these zombies.
Ah, yes, the symbiote on steroids
Sounds like the King in Black, Star Wars version.
Star Wars had their own Flood mixed with symbiotes.
What are the sources for this video for further reading? Thanks!
1k booom
A true abomination... Flame first no questions
Carnage is the evilest symbiote. No. Knull is the evilest.
The entity.
Luke Skywalker
Call the SCP guys for this guy.
I can only imagine if the Death Star shot at the creature, and blew it up, it'd cause even more chaos than it already has over its lifetime in the galaxy.
If it's so resilient, I bet fragments of it would survive on chunks of the planet it infested, then spreading across the galaxy, crashing into planets, without life, and with life. Planets that would be valuable for resources, or scouting outposts. I doubt destroying the planet it's on, or that it is, would very wise
Never knew venom 1:28 was part of the Star Wars lore ? Disney... go figure.
Flame thrower or force lightning. Maybe both. Any extra dark Jedi and Mandalorians around?
Mnggal-Mnggal vs Scp-682
Are there any notable figures in Star Wars that have encountered this entity?
Also, atomizing this entity seems like the way to go.
Thumbnail reminds me of sometimes out of warhammer 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Huh destroying those death stars seems pretty silly now
Is this Legends or Disney? Just curious.
I keep hearing Knull Knull. Lol
The Death Star would only serve to spread an unfathomable number of droplets of Mnggal-Mnggal throughout nearby space. It did not fully vaporize Alderaan. Why would it fully vaporize Mnggal-Mnggal?
Would be insane to find out a factor why the emperor built the deathstar is to destroy that planet one day. Whatever that thing is, it appears it lives in the core of the planet, a deathstar could just blow it up right?
