How to wire a South African three pin plug top Remember blue = left (bLue) and brown = right (bRown) Blue- neutral Brown= live Black = neutral Red= live Yellow/green= earth
Allway loop the ends fr better strenght and avoides cutting the strands ...earth cable should be as long as possible, if the wires get pulled out it must be the last cable too come out...your protection from electrocution....tightthe screws... wait a few secs for wires too compress..then they can be tighten again for a proper secure connection.
I got a light fitting with no earth wire (just 2 wires, blue and brown) ... I need to add lead extension, switch and plug ... is it safe to use such an item without an earth while obviously making sure they're insulated etc?
No the BLUE in N - Neutral. L is the Live wire bringing power to the appliance. So if you attached the Green to Earth and the Blue to N , whatever wire you have left goes into the L - LIVE.
The neutral is grounded so it is at the ground potential. The live or the line has potential to the ground. It works even if they are reversed but things like lamps are safer when they are correctly. The switch will cut the line and there will be no voltage on after the switch when it is off.
I am a single mom. I wired my first plug. Thank You so much. Your video is spot on!

Brown R is live wire. Blue L is neural..
Tx alot
Hi, what if there is no earth? Conversion of a 2 point to a 3 point
Just install live and neutral wires (blue and brown)
Should the copper the stick out on the other side of the hole..
its okay if it does
Got air compresor going
The wires I have are black, red and then one mixed with green and yellow (which I guess was the earth wire).
Black is blue in this video(neutral) and red is brown (live) and yes the yellow and green is the earth wire
If you request on Left & right you shouldn't be doing any wiring.
Blue black brown green how i can fix it
Mines say L,N and the earth
Do I still put the blue in the L

Are you sure this is compliaaant?

The difference between L and N
