Comedy band like Flight of the Concords, Ninja Sex Party, TWRP...Just a full fledged band but focused on funny lyrics. Kinda like Bo Burnham music but more juvenile (typically).

The GD Comedy Jam is Josh Adam Meyers hosts where comedians get on stage and sing their favorite songs, Josh is a comic too but also a musician so his band does live cover instrumentals (basically karaoke) and the comics just rock out. Usually not recorded because it's a safe space to be cringe etc. There are some from Skankfest though which is a big comedy festival Luis J Gomez from Legion of Skanks hosts.
Britt i agree with you , it sounded like the band guy wanted to start performing as a duo wirh the girl singer from his band. If thats the case then it sounds like his girlfriend is feeling threatened by this relationship between him & the singer. Sounds like the singer may have suggested the tatoo idea to him & he decided he liked the idea. I also agree with Bill , we have no indication of his level of musicianship. If you don't write your own original music you will be whats known as a sportsbar rockstar. Playing covers on the weekends in little sportsbars around town & maybe getting an opening spot for a big name band when they come to town. The guy wanting to do a duo is even harder to make it in the music industry. You have to be an exceptional songwriter & the singer needs to have a really good voice. Right now it is hard for big name bands to be able to tour successfully. The Who said a week or so ago that they can't afford to tour the U.S. That's how tough it is in the music biz. Best of luck to him chasing that dream but its a long shot.

I think that she can compromise on the band thing since he has a full-time job and plays music on the side. So she should tell him that she will support his music ambition if he doesn't get that tattoo and waits to quit his job after he starts making enough money in music to replace his income. That sounds reasonable enough to work
Bill will occasionally get together with other comedians at the club and just jam. There are vids on YT of them playing.

The laydeee is on point and seems like a great girlfriend. Musicians really underestimate how difficult it is to break into the industry without connections. If they're expecting to be a multi-millionare, they're in for a rude awakening.
These kinds of bands don't achieve as much success as they used to. There's been a massive shift in the industry (genres, streaming services, etc.) and most of the artists nowadays never truly "make it" regardless of their talent.
Now doing it as a hobby and playing gigs on the side in addition to your main career...that's different.

Yes, 30 is not mid life, when I was around 30 I got my driver's license, I became a father, and bought a house.
I was up and around, going to concerts and festivals and whatnot.
Now I'm 55, which is what I'd call mid life age whise. But I'm still young at heart, doing stuff, new stuff.
In essence I'd say that mid life starts when you stop being interested in new things, stop learning, just sit in your couch watching TV

Its not America...authorities in the Czech Republic would probably laugh at him that he's "scared of a girl". If he was living here, then yes 100% ageee with caling the cops.
The biggest thing that worries me about the musician one is his dreams of becoming a "rich" musician. As a fellow creative just like you Britt (Music, poetry, writing) I think if you're in it for the commercialism, you're doomed. Maybe that's a little anarchist of me and maybe I'm just not that ambitious, but the art itself should be the goal not whatever imagined outcome. Because if (and most likely when) that outcome doesn't arrive the way you want it, you're left with disappointment and the consequences of the decisions you made trying to get there.
30s is not when you go through mid life crisis 🤦🏻♂️and as for the tattoo, I personally don’t see the problem with it, I got my first one at 18 and my last one when I was 30, I’m 51 now I still want a couple more, I personally wouldn’t be getting a skull tattoo but I would get something with a family name,not wife but blood relation like a child or parent.
ok. Some of your memories are so by my thinking STUPID (apologize this is my second lang.). Imagine having dream to be professional boxer or pilot over 30-40 years old. It will never happen. Going back to band. If he is nor 1 of 1000 he just chasing his childhood dreams (motor skills are not the same when you are 15 and starting playing). He can be senior house number one...
Log story short i can feel that guy. Who from us (men) don't have that dream? From point of lady she need to motivate him not/yes (whatever you feel) perusing dream. Second thing is that if men didn't do "stupid things" in his youth it's always cumming back (in most cases). She need to be woman that will show this child the good road (who want be with child men? Not me buut if some lady from Poland want to be with one DM me).... Have a gr8 life you all.
