I owned a 95 Montero SR. These SUV’s don’t get the respect they deserve from the off road crowd. The Montero can off road with the best of them ie Range Rover, Discovery, Land Cruiser and 4 Runner. I took my Montero off road once and it made me forget about owning a Discovery at that time. They are built like tanks and their paint jobs are made with long term durability in mind. The drivetrains are nearly indestructible. The Montero 2.5 generation (1998 thru 2000) are the most desirable. If the aforementioned bad engine oil seals didn’t affect the V6 3.5L they might easily last for 300,000 miles. It is by far the best car I’ve ever owned.
Nice vid! Also have a 95’ Montero sr although rear power windows don’t work, radio needs a big wham on the side to get it working, speedo don’t work and ac has a leak. One thing is for certain though, she never failed to start for 17+ years.
SR model Monteros will give you the most bang for your buck. The only thing to look our for is a bad head gasket, check the radiator for oil mixed with antifreeze, and white smoke coming from the tail pipe.
+Santi MartineZ I usually only air down to 20, and you should definitely get the compressor if you plan on airing down, and make sure you have a recovery strap.
+Santi MartineZ I sold this truck to upgrade to a triple locked Land Cruiser :)I still own a Montero, but its a first Gen. I just finished rebuilding the engine and a rear locked axle from a second Gen wil be the next upgrade

nice. any tips. for me . do u have to lower down to 15 psi im tryn to gear up wirth a compressor and lift jack what do u recomend

On what setting did you have your Montero when crossing the river?
Mr Tank 4 low and rear locker on
