I'm a few weeks off from ordering my first stainless tank to start a little side business. I love informative videos like these. Hopefully some of the stuff I attempt will look this good lol

@@OscarRodriguez-wh6xl actually bought a tank last year, learned all I could but had some severe skin and respiratory reactions to the activators. Even with a P100D respirator and gloves I managed to get irritations. I sold the tank late last year and began investing my extra time and money in our property. Was a pretty cool trade to learn though!

Bryan that looks great... I'm not sure if you have tried it but when I dip wheels right before it enters the water at the last portion of the lip I'll kick the bottom of the wheel out slowly going almost vertical to roll that air out around the lip... as I'm doing that I start to push it through the print... I've noticed no air trapped to limited air trapped with that method.... I usually dip the rear of the wheels as well... I'll dip the rear section up to the back side of the hub then proceed to the front... but my secret is I never wash the pva off the back side dip... so when the front overlaps the rear dip it still washes off nicely leaving a very nice transition...

Yes that is another way you can dip wheels and it still turn out very well! With these we went in just at the angle like you saw in the video only because these wheels did not have a lip on them and they were front facing wheels. With the very small lip on the outer edge, it was an easy touch up that nobody will ever know about.

Place a bubble of air under center of sheet, go straight down. Will be perfect. Use a little hand air blower under sheet while in water. Can use a little string on sides if need be..

Amazing video! What is the perfect temperature of the water in doin hydro dipping?
Normally you want to be around 80-90 degrees F.

You could have but I think that would have caused air pockets to be trapped and then it would have caused more problems after the dip.

Wanting to do the rims on my Harley obviously much narrower than the ones you dipped in the video so will be able to get both sides of the rim in one dip? Badass work btw
Normally on motorcycle rims, you will have to dip those 1/2 and 1/2. You normally cant get the print to wrap around the wheels all the way in one dip.

That bubble area coild have been avoided if you have tilted it backwards a bit. You even could just painted a blue ring around the lip. Not hating on your thing just giving my opinion.
Yes there is multiple different options that could have been done with this wheel when dipping.

the bubble is there because the angle wasnt right. should have straightened it out at the end. always works for me

That is looking really amazing and would love to see black ground with blue & white lighting pattern that be Kool and do so on wheel lug nuts aswel they be best looking with lug nuts for wheels instead of plain pug nut without colours

If I decided I didn't want the hydro dipping on my wheels anymore is there a way to take it off?
May I ask what color he was using while airbrushing. I've been trying to perfect my touch up game, but in my experience, if it's not the exact color of the film, the airbrush sticks way out too much.
The color was a custom mixed bluish purple. It does take a bit of experience to make sure the color matches very well when touching up.
How does it hold up over time? resistance to brake dust?
It holds up very well! This is fully clear coated and is a permanent coating.

Typically hydrodipping is going to cost you more than painting wheels simply because you still have to paint them to hydrodip. The hydrodip is just an additional step between the paint and clear coat. Pricing varies based upon the wheel design, size, and exactly what you want but they start at $200 per wheel and go up from there.

Does this go away from the wheels or it stays ?
This is a permanent coating that will stay on the wheels for the life of the wheels.
What happens when you mount the tires will it peel
Normally it will not peel unless the machine digs in and scrapes the metal very hard when trying to mount tires on the wheels.
Would dipping in a second time in the same pattern fill those air bubbles and remove the need for air brushing?
You could do that but it would darken the film quite a bit as using a blue base (the first dip) would cause it to turn darker. The airbrushing is the best way to make sure it comes out like the customer is wanting it to look.
Hi there I do this dipping jus for on sum of car parts but I can't get the glass finish why is that can please give me any tips I use aerosol can for every thing thanks
I want to start hydro dipping things but I have no idea what to buy. Id like something that is big enough to dip rims like this but dont really need anything bigger. I also cant find any printers online as well. What do you guys use?

I work with doing bee honey and bee removal how or what would I have to do to get either a vibrant bee pattern or honey comb pattern to dip my rims with ?

We have a few options in our custom film. If you don't see anything you like, you can submit an image as long as it's not copyrighted.
What do you charge for something like that, custom or not, & was that all there was to it, after the dip, was it right out the water & sat onto the table just to let air dry, & is the water reusable, or do you have to drain & use fresh water

Make sure you do a good clean before you fit the film use 2 k primer don’t use cheap film dip the wheel wash off properly even for 5 mins to get the slimy feel off wait till the next day then dry dust off warm up spray can of 2k clear coat quick light coat then do that a good few times 5/6 is ok then few days to dry it will last for good few years just don’t curb them Or hot pressure wash

While you’re dipping it in when you get past the valve turn the wheel one and ahalf inches either direction and that should get rid of that top piece that did not get covered because of the bubble
Would love have nice deadly skulls of camoflauge in blue and white or any motor racing logo on them be sweet looking of different design on rims and some parts on engines

Yes if you want to redo the whole wheel again. This is a permanent coating.

Question...how durable is the coating? What would be the life expectancy of that film for everyday use?
The film itself offers no durability. This is obtained from the primer, paint, and clear coat used. We use all high grade automotive products to give the best durability just like the paint on your vehicle.
If your rims are already clear coated will you still be able to hydro dip over the clear coat and just cost again?
For the best adhesion you would want to prep, paint, dip, and then clear.

Yes you can. All you need to do is just remove the TPMS sensors and then you can dip the wheels like normal. We do it all the time.

How would you prep a chrome rim?
Do you need to change water once in a while or it doesnt matter, cause the rest of the film will melt in a water?..thanks..
You will need to change your water periodically depending on the amount of items you dip. You will start to notice an odor after a bit that is quick sign it is time to change it out.
Can you dip without an activator?
No the film will not stick to anything.

Does it rub off after a while on does it stick to the surface if you didnt clear coat it?
If you don't clear coat the part then it will eventually rub or scratch off very easily as well as the paint will not be protected so it will be more prone to chipping, flaking and fading.

It will honestly very based on the wheel complexity. Hydrodip wheels start at $250+
Can this be done using plastidip?
Yes you can dip to plastidip but we would not recommend it as a base.
Should the water contain a certain temperature ?
We run our tank at 80-90 degrees
What will happen if the water is cold or do room temperature
