thought they changed things to prevent healbotting but im having to do more healing than ever just to keep my teammates alive

As a healing bot(lw) that’s all you can do because it takes so long to heal and there’s so much to heal
I look at it differently. You have to deal damage before the fight and distract during the fight so that your team takes less damage. When you get to higher elos, your team will be better at using cover so you can do this more.
Dont heal, forget about your tank, just secure kills if you can

I'm hoping most Tanks will get better about taking cover when low and under the DPS passive once they can tell they have it. Rn, OP's problem happens a lot bc the average player won't take cover to literally save their life. This is forcing that.
As an Ana main I completely agree with everything you said, it's sad cause my favourite part of Ana was that she had the potential to be one of the best supports, but the skill gap is high. Now it feels like you have to just heal bot and play for nano. I haven't really enjoyed this playstyle of Ana so far. I didn't put in countless hours of practice to shoot at my tank the whole time and throw a grenade at them. Also landing sleeps doesn't feel as satisfying anymore because the one shot combo is gone.
with how much skill that's required to play Ana, why not just put it into lucio, zen or brig? :/

@@christyobrien7680 so it’s time to move on or play whatever the play style is for the season it’s been that way since season 3 of ow1 when she was released. She was one of the strongest supports in the game for too long it’s about time they’re dialed back.

Lw really needs a faster reload, 20 healing ammo again and less CD on the pull. Mb less ult charge aswell
They kept the Ult Charge because they want it to be an extension of his kit which is fair. But they overnerfed his base kit so you don't really get the ult often. Honestly a faster reload and 20 Healing Ammo would be fine and to keep Pull the way it is (Or maybe even Pull reloads Ammo(

The thing i hate the most is the ultra long reload, it feels like ages every time he reloads and its always in important moments, but i doubt they will buff him tbh
they should revert the nerfs they did last season and brig him back to the numbers he had at his strongest that would put him at equal footing with the dps debuff
The charge speed needs to be buffed a bit. It’s feels like a drag to heal any low health players with the dps passives

I had games where enemies just ignored us supports because they shred through our tank anyways 😅
TLDR for Ana:
-More passive/healbot play style
-Use nade for heal most of the time
-Why anti when your dps can 20p
-Farm nano, nano matters alot more
-Use nano as space maker (Nano tank at start of fight)
-Defensive nano (Zen, Cass, etc)

@@gamyned2923 how to rank up on support: do damage before, in and after the fight, heal only when ppl are gonna die if u don't. Use cover and distance to not die and maximize ur damage output. The new patch notes literally made obvious that healbotting is the worst thing ever. Ppl have more HP, heal over time and DPS have the passive. I was silver back in season 2, today I'm gm5

I hate that the best way to play Ana right now is the least fun way imagineable.
I think it’ll be useful for Lifeweaver’s needles to charge his flower because switching between healing and attacking is clunky. I say clunky because he still needs to charge his healing flower after switching. So he feels really bad to play this patch and due to the dps passive.
That’s similar to an idea I had where the first healing blossom after reloading is always full charge. But being rewarded for doing damage would be even better
the kirko not being the carry character anymore is so true. i was so used to being able to be the top fragger and healer in gm and those days are over

Yeah, them removing her double tap really effected her. It was litteraly a part of her kit from day one. It would be nice if they nerfed her kunai projectile size and increase the damage (+5) to 50.
I think even buffing base kunai dmg to 48 (currently 45) would help a lot. 50 is too much IMO as that brings back the two tap, which I feel goes against the spirit of the new changes. But buffing to 48 would make two Kiriko headahots equal to one Hanzo headshot which I feel makes sense in season 9.
Mercy feels so bad that for the first time since 2017 I'm only playing dps until she gets a change. It only feels like she does anything if you get a miracle dps that is stomping the enemy

Here's why Mercy is not fun in season 9 from a one trick t500[ow 1&2] mercy main
- .5 buff to ga is not a buff. I think ml7 is confused as well ga was 3s is now 2.5s
- the dps passive effects her passive. If she gets tagged she heals off people less even if that person was not tagged. If the person she heals off is tagged then she still gets reduced healing. The numbers were fixed to ensure she receives the same amount of healing as she did before the dps passive
- the meta don't not suit mercy. Her most reliable pockets are hanzo and soj because Ashe does not need mercy to get kills. She's still a two head shot kill character. Soj also doesn't need a pocket but giving her one amplifies her pressure if she is good. Hanzo is the only one that benefits.
- Second the heavy rush/dive (depends what ur playing) Mets heavily puts pressure on mercy. Her constantly getting hard dove by 3/4 players on the enemy team hard especially when a lot of players are still going zen lucio even when they have mercy
- healing on mercy is terrible. at some points it's better to full hold dmg boost and not heal ur pocket unless you can heal or maybe valk heal might save
In conclusion mercy can work but she is not having the funniest time this season. But it's an interesting season and I'm having fun being able to not just sit in one place most the game
I wish they finally got rid of Resurrect. This shitty ability has to go. Valkyrie doesn't affect it much apart from increasing the range slightly, which makes the ultimate feel bad too. Staying nearly immobile in such a fast-paced game is dumb, no mention you can't actively cancel res unless you walk out of its range (just make it cancel upon pressing E a second time after a minimum of 0.15-0.2s). I wish she had a better ability, that you could actually use PROACTIVELY instead of it basically being a worse Bap lamp. I wanted her to have lw's pull but since this is taken, I think that a cleanse with a short invuln (0.5s ish) on a 12-15s cd could work, with her ult making her able to use one mass cleanse, which would raise her skill ceiling a bit (instant ult+cleanse rein ult or something). A bit akin to Kiriko, without the AOE effect or burst heal but a slightly longer invuln, can go through shields and doesn't need aiming, with a bigger AOE on ult. Just an idea, I wish she was a bit more proactive, and that her ult would empower her skill in a significant manner.
Her ult could also be reworked to have a much shorter charge requirement so that she could spam it. It could AOE heal for 100 burst and empower her next action (chain heal or chain damage boost or empowered GA or empowered (instant or invuln?) res. I feel like there is no real champ with such an ultimate. Tracer can spam it indeed, but my idea is something a bit more like Karma's ultimate in LoL, where your ultimate is basically a glorified ability, which would feel great on Mercy imo as she is meant to be easy to play (you can't really go wrong if your ult is back in 15s), and it basically gives her more abilities which is great because hers are not super flashy or impactful.
I'm obviously not a game designer, just a Mercy main who wishes Bilzzard would be a bit more daring and creative with her kit, instead of saying "Res is iconic we can't scrap it" and call it a day.

Been playing OW (support) since OW1 release and I feel like I have to change my entire play style and relearn everything about being a support player.
Moira works well since they bugfed everyones damage. Bruh supports can literally do the best they can to heal the team but its literally up to the dps and tank to provide the kills. Most supports can handle anyone that comes in too close like flankers. For low ranks they really dont read up on what counters what. And this is where matchmaking come in
I agree, I’ve played games where I would heal and support the hell out of my time, and go 2-3 minutes without dying just healing and defending and when I die I get no kills and no assist points cause my team couldn’t take anybody out

Every mercy in my games from plat through masters they either are doing nothing but healing the entire time or they are swapping lol. She’s so useless rn it’s actually sad

she's only decent as a situational pick if the enemies cant pressure you much AND you have a good dps to pocket

im honestly disappointed theyre changing all the weaker supports right now (illari and mercy) except for lw. i really want to use his new skin and play him in comp but hes a total throw pick right now :/.

It’s been almost a year and they STILL haven’t adjusted his weapon swap.
pretty sure the mercy changes that's in the hotfix today is going to be a nerf (to her blaster projectile size). But yeah I'd like to see a lw buff too, this hero still suffers from a reputation problem. In the right hands he can definitely still provide value and creative plays, but out of all the supports even among the weakest ones people tends to automatically think he's the throw pick.
@@harperchxx lifeweaver mercy are throw picks this season because they cant shoot people on their own. nobody should be hiding from enemies behind a wall, supports need to make enemies look at them, take their own angles etc. Lifeweaver is especially griefing because players life grip as a panic heal more often than they did before. So they're griefing their ally's positioning, forcing them to play passive, because the LW player got scared to see his teammate at 40% hp.
And another thing, LW mercy are hurt by the hitbox changes because it's harder to avoid damage, yet they can't realistically take advantage of their own larger bullets. Every other hero got a balancing buff/nerf by hitboxes, but the 2 passive healers are only nerfed by it.
@@sawah765 Yes the kit of these heros encourage more passive playstyles, but that does not mean it is the only way to play them in any players hands at all time. In the diamond rank matches I'm playing there are def mercy players who can take advantage of the increased projectile sizes of her blaster during valk, and lw players who aren't just healbotting but poking because his thorns does pretty good damage when landing it, especially after the projectile speed increases buff, and during the right time window they are effective. This is by no means saying they don't need extra effort to make it work than some other meta heros, but I don't think it's necessary to assume they are throw picks automatically.
I think any LW main won't really complain about his weapon. It's the fact that they overnerfed the one thing that made him different which was his high heals to compensate for low DPS and situational utility. He needs a buff in his heals to really be viable. @@namii-swan
I have to say that the extra hp doesn't mean shit on console. The aim assist let's bronze players aim like diamond players even though they would have missed every shot before. Hitting Kunais with Kiriko and completing kills has gotten harder and it doesn't make up any of the extra time/hp you have to flank your enemies because you are hitting more body shots than ever because of the bigger hitbox. Additionally the game is kind of forcing you to healbot your mates even though your healing isn't doing shit.
I will say this as a person who’s challenging themselves to try to get to Diamond just using Mercy I will say my games have been extremely miserable 😭 even though I haven’t played in MONTHS but I’m getting hit scanned and ran down on more than any of my teammates to the point I just switch cause I’m tired of it and it gets rather annoying when I get no help so it’s either between bap, kiriko, Moira, and Ana depending on how the games are going honestly
Ana and Mercy are quite bad atm, its hard to keep someone alive. The other supp like Bap and Zen are way better.
Fr! I’ve been trying to climb out of gold 1 to plat as a mercy main and it just isn’t as easy as playing bap and Ana. I’m almost a mercy one trick, as I’m the most proficient with her and barely decent with the rest, such as bap. I have low game sense and skill with bap and yet get more value out of him than full focused mercy 🥹

Not gonna lie I love Brigitte this season. She’s so much fun to play and just do damage with while passively healing ur team. Lucio is my next go to with support and I feel like together they are crazy

Lucio is my most played hero in OW2, yet in season 9, I actually am just getting melted by the enemies for being aggressive in situations I used to get away. while yes I am also getting more kills, I am also dying more too.
I always looked at damage ball as a type of discord orb like ya it just does straight damage but basically is kind of what discord does.

3.5 sec anti on squishies
2.5 sec anti on tanks.
1.5 Headshot multiplier with Widow's old fall off (40m to 60m, so 112.5 headshot)
As for Nade I would reduce it's cooldown to 8-10 sec...
For lw pull needs buff maybe have it do a bit of healing. As for illari pylon more could be buffed a bit. Or they could also maybe buff her heal beam range just a bit
They nerfed burst healing so heal botting is less viable but they gave dps a new passive that makes you forced to heal bot…
LW needs lower cooldown petal platform and grip. Also not sure why they made is hitbox so large since he's a support. He should be smaller.

My ranked experience with Illari has been very consistent. With Bap and Lucio i always have either 1.5k more dmg than healing or vice versa, but with Illari i always have similar heal and dmg stats.
Ex: on Illary after 8 minutes, ill have around 4.5k damage and 4.5k healing
But on lucio its probably around 6k damage and 3k heals
is it just me or did everything blizzard claim this patch was for or would do is the exact opposite of what happened? supports are even more enslaved to healing, as opposed to 'not worrying anymore b/c of healing passive' etc.?

Yeah... i want to know if people who are playing now still ask for healing although they can heal themselves and 5 seconds is a long time for them to heal so they still need the support.

After the update i do feel like Moira is better than she's ever been. I've had ranked games where i do more damage than the dps as moira. It's like having an extra dps that works well with most comps. Her healing can be a bit weak though as you can run out of juice fast if you don't manage it well.

So bap still doing shoot heals combo, and ana is just in her healbot era? I really need to get better at the shoot heal combo for him and kiri, i want to have that habit. Got kinda flamed by my friend for healbotting on bap (had 1.5k dmg after first round) so now i really want to figure him out.

For Ana, before the changes in S9, she was ok with all the nerfs, even if it didn't feel great. With all the S9 changes, she feels terrible to play. The nades have almost no duration, and her healing feels anemic.
Moria fells so dominant in sup dual, no support other than zen can win a dual against her, and they win with zero effort
How did you get a heart crosshair
It's part of the season 9 patch, go to options and you can change reticle shape from there. Lots of customization now

mechanics aren't just aim. they also include movement and for lucio that means all his tech with wall riding

My favorite part about the season and new updates is how dynamic everything is, at Diamond I can play pretty much any hero and be effective. It keeps the game fresh and enjoyable.

LOL Moira is more than fine. She’s stronger this season than last numerically and Alec said she’s the 3rd best performing support after Zen and Lucio and both are getting nerfed.
@yan I bet you're not a Moira player... Did you know her ultimate didn't receive a single change? That means that her ultimate does 70dps while her regular right click does 65dps... on top of that, her healing has been nerfed by the dps passive and she has no utility. How exactly is she fine? She's fine if you go full dps or if you, well, as ML7 said: swap! She needs buffs if the dps passive doesn't get nerfs! At the very least she needs higher ultimate number because coal doesn't feel like an ultimate.
@@pedrohermes9964 she literally received two buffs. Her DPS was buffed by 30% from 50 to 65 and the attach angle increased. HP pools were only increased by 25% which means Moira now does more effective damage in season 9 than she did in season 8. Alec even said this on stream. He also said she’s the top3 performing support in the game now. And they just nerfed the top 2 Zen and Lucio which means she’s even better. Just say you’re bad at the game and go.

Can somebody explain the math why melee plus discord orb does 75 dmg?
I’m not entirely sure. But I think it is melee is 40, his snap kick does 50% more damage than normal melee which makes it 60. And then I think discord is 25% damage increase which makes it 75.
