thanks, Adam +thanks for having a Local SEO pro on your channel as guest speaker +it's a cool subject also wondering about content marketing and blog recommendations for a Local Business
I would love to see more videos about raking organically for Coaching Courses, E-Learning Videos and Digital Marketing Platforms. We know we can set up a lot of paid traffic but it would be nice to see something similar.
I'd like to learn more about optimizing the Google my Business profile and the other profiles that you mentioned that we should do ourselves. Also, how do we get our clients listed in the "Google Guaranteed" group? Finally, what Chrome plugin or tool do you use that displayed the related searches to the right of the Google search results? Thanks for doing this! Thanks, Adam!
Hey Jim. I have a few different Chrome extensions running but you're probably talking about Keywords Everywhere - which has been a huge help. And yes, there is going to be an in-depth video coming soon that's all about setting up and optimizing your GMB profile. Covers all the major things you need to know and then some.
Thank you for this. One of my focus’s at the moment. What stops some of the listings going live is because they need a phone verification with the citation builder. I guess it’s just chipping away at this each week.
The phone verifications can slow things down a little but try this: I'll usually get my client on the phone, tell them we're about to do a phone verification and then initiate the verification while they're by the phone. We usually both have our cell phones ready so we can text verification codes or whatever back and forth quickly. The key is to make sure they're by the phone, ready to answer.
Their marketers are rough to be sure. Still, the platform gets a ton of traffic and it's way better to control your own listing than have some angry customer rage on one that was auto-generated.
I own a reputable local business directory. Can you provide me with links to perhaps e directories where my clients can input their own content? Also, quick tips to offer the local small businesses on the benefits of listing
I've been a big fan of BL for awhile (especially their interview/webinar series). They just don't offer as many services and options as Web20. For instance, Web20 has really nice niche citation packages. Then you can build out a lot of other projects for the same client like Geo-networks, backlinks, GMB optimizations and quite a bit more.
@@WPCrafter Fantastic! Similar TH-cam videos I've watched on this topic were half as thorough at best and all recycled from the most basic tips you can find online. So glad to see something more meaty with tips on how to outsource the tedious part and where (and it's not Fiverr, phew!). Great content!
Wow! Your skill and knowledge of this particular field of expertise, is truly overwhelming! Please show me, what kind of services do you have that could help me, after suffering 4-strokes, Covid-19 then fell into a Comma, which caused me, to almost lose my life, God had mercy on my soul, and raised me up,in the hospital! While truly thankful, I am totally disabled, as I must rehab from all of this! Help, if you can?
I appreciated the info! Though I must critique, these SEO videos that Joseph does do not have to be so long. Do some more hard cuts and I'm sure you could condense it to 10 minutes. Gain even more traction on the video!
When it comes to real estate investing (ie we buy your home in cash in a particular city), what would be the best ways to optimize our website and get our website on the appropriate listing sites?
We live in the UK and have a holiday villa on a resort in Davenport Florida that we rent out on various platforms. A problem we have is that we cannot add our business on GMB because we are unable to certify our business by post as the Developer decided that short term rentals (STRs) did not require a post box onsite. This also applies to the other 208 owners too and many other resorts designated as short-term rental. Does anyone know of a way around this?
I think I remember Moz days that citations only account for around 10% of local SEO ranking factor. Definitely something to do, but far from the end all be all.
Not for Italy specifically but you could probably extrapolate some from the UK listings on Whitespark. And use that bonus technique at the end of the video. It will help you find the most important listings.
Yelp is not a necessary listing. It is 100% business dependent. If you are a social business (restaurant, bar, entertainment venue, etc.) and in an area where Yelp is used a lot (like California), it is important. If you run something like a digital marketing agency and/or are in an area where people do not use Yelp that often, it is not necessary or important. I have ranked #1 in Yelp in my town for any SEO related terms for close to 15 years now. I have gotten exactly zero leads from that listing in all that time. Why? Because nobody searches for my type of business in Yelp. On top of that Yelp is one of the most shady businesses in existence. The only company that I would say is comparable is the BBB.
One thing I don't agree with here. Placing your business in these directories is not about getting a lead from them. It about showing Google for My Business ranking purposes, that you are a real business.
Pretty much all of it. You can check the Whitespark link in the description for an extensive list of the best citations to use for different industries in the UK.
I paid 150 for someone to do my local SEO but I don’t know what they are doing. So it is better is I do everything myself just to make sure it will be done.
You can skip all of the directory submissions and just add your details to the data companies, since every decent directory buys their data monthly anyway, including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yelp, etc. Old SEO Pro technique.
I wouldn't recommend letting the data companies control those listings. Definitely submit your details to the aggregators but for GMB, Bing, Yelp and any other major potential lead source, you want custom control and to optimize for the platform. They're way more than just another NAP mention.
@@mydigitalmarketingjourney1087 On further thought about it, I agree with you. Add or claim and optimize every mention of your business everywhere. The directories that buy the data to salt their results don't always buy all of the data. It also occurred to me that the categories selected in the data aggregator's database might not always match with the directories and other data like business hours might not use the same format. When a directory does buy your business data from an aggregator, they will have some way for you to claim your listing. It's important that people claim their listings and if they see a discrepancy, they should also try to correct any inaccurate information on the data aggregators. Facebook Business pages, for one, will overwrite your information with "suggestions" which are frequently information they have found through the aggregators.
Why do you introduce Joseph without his surname? Where can we find him? The 'how to video' that he mentions regarding google my business is not listed below. Not like you to be so secretive Adam.
Oh sorry Lisa. This was a test video for Joseph to see if he likes making videos like this and if he would want to join me as a regular on the channel making this same sort of content. He did make that video but we haven’t uploaded it. Do you find this type of content useful and helpful?
There are a lot of reasons to optimize Facebook for SEO. Even if only because FB itself is a search engine. But beyond that, Facebook pages can rank nicely in Google for less competitive keywords, the reviews are displayed on your GMB, it's a strong brand mention and authority signal (which was a lot of the point for the Social and Citations sections of the video). . . Your decision but I wouldn't skip it.
Thank you. I keep coming back to this video for over a year. Priceless information for the hustler.

You should take anything Moz has to say with a grain of salt. They are one of the biggest sources of misinformation in the community.
What are the copyright limitations for building my directory by importing NAP from other's listings?
Great tutorial. Thank you, guys. Priceless recommendations.
Hello! I have a question. This kind of directory ar ok for seo in Italy? Thanks

I am a Freelance Web Designer. How do I use these services without listing my personal address?
I second this question. I wonder why it hasn't been answered. I'm an online freelance writer too.
How much of this is relevant to UK websites?
Pretty much all of it. You can check the Whitespark link in the description for an extensive list of the best citations to use for different industries in the UK.

The Whitespark "Best Citations" tool has a big list for Australia.

Yelp withholds good reviews from businesses so that they can sell them a paid plan. They extort from businesses that can't afford it.
