I'm so jealous of the sahaba. Hearing their stories and directly can meet with Rasulullah; seeing him, hearing him and speaking to him... The privilege of the FIRSTs.
People often say they are jealous of the sahabah. But we forget what they endured. Would you want to be tortured like Bilal and Khabbab, or killed (martyred) like Somayya and Yasir? There are two sides to the picture.

I would really love to know a more detailed account of Abdullah ibn Masood, may Allah be pleased with him. The fact that we know from what the prophet (saw) said about him " Whoever wants to read the Quran as fresh as when it was revealed, then let him read according to the recitation of Ibn Umm Abd.' , then we should know about his life and what were his qualities that Allah chose him to be the fountainhead of the knowledge of the Quran for all time.

I have investigated so much about this sahaba, and Wallahi Promise to Allah, Abdullah ibn Masood is my primary idol that I took him as a perfect example for me.
I think a better word would be role model inshAllah... No hate at all but it's best to avoid the word idol as we left idol worshipping when we joined Islam.
