What about using the Loop function to perserve Sd card space; and add external power to the gopro so the battery doesn’t run out. When your done; you never miss something; bc the camera is always on; only when you hit the on/off switch it saves the last 5, 20, 30 minutes of what you want to keep. If you ride for an hour; and dont see anything worth keeping; the loop rewrites over the she shot saving SD space. Thanks for your input. Appreciate the video!
Man, you're one of the best motovloggers round, great tips, awesome production and cinematography skills, love seeing those familiar Sydney roads too! Your adventure tour series was sick, should do one on one of new ct125's, would be awesome lol
Been binge watching your content. I still have my hero 7 and planning to get the 10. Nice settings you got here, and love the John Wick night settings! Makes me wanna get back to motovlogging! Cheers!
Cool video. I just came here to learn about fps settings so why do you have it on 30 fps when you're moving so fast on a bike? Shouldn't it be at least 60 fps minimum? I just ordered the insta360 x4 which was released 4/16/24 (today) for $499. I believe this camera is the best for motorcycle riding as you get a 360 view which is great for insurance purposes if someone hits you and claims you were at fault when you weren't.
I've learned a lot from you Rob, immeasurable appreciation for sharing your knowledge and experience! Hope to see you if you come to Europe and thank you in person. Stay safe ✌😉
Thanks a lot! I think i figured out. Your videos have real quality. My next step import Lut and learn editing. What are you thinking free edit programs? Capcut or davinci?
Excellent info as usual! I have had this stabilisation issue with my Hero 9, I did manage some success with the 5k/24fps and Hypersmooth on 'boost' but it does crop pretty tight, and makes it hard to get the wider shot with hands on the grips etc. 💁🏽♂️
Great vid bro & some awesome tips I'll definitely try. Have had a set of ND filters for my DJI OSMO ACTION but never used them.....time to dust them off!
It's amazing that In the era of GoPro hero 9 , you are making amazing content using a GoPro Hero 7. Hats off to you bro ❤️ keep it up nd please let me know at which place you mount the action camera (helmet or chest)?
Good video 🎥 very helpful.. Just made my first attempt with a GP 7 in 2024 😂 It was more an audio test. Content enough with that but felt my video could look much better... I'll hunt out ND filters asap. Cheers 🍻 *Crap Game* 🎉
I wonder why the most popular motovloggers like Itchy Boots and Sinewan don't use ND filters. I agree that it looks better but maybe there's an upside to the more sharper, less motion blurred, non-ND filter look. Maybe it's because it looks more "real" and "documentary"?
I like the way you speak, natural and little cool style, occasionally swearing, but not going too far. I'm not good at expressing myself in my daily life, and you set a good example for me. Thanks for your being. Hope you can understand what Im talking about. Im not the native english speaker. I subscribe you. Have a good one.
I love this man, thank you! I struggle speaking too and it takes me a few times to get out what I want to say. So I appreciate this and thank you for the sub!
hi, too late to this video but can I ask some question. I'm now using go7 with 16 ND filter and my protune setting is 1/60 and max 400 iso with gopro color. However the footage look a little bit noise even in the middle of the day which is very bright, do you have any idea about what happend or am I using the wrong setting?
Just discovered your channel. I like it. On your GoPro settings, I’m surprised you are locking shutter speed. I would prioritise correct exposure over “optimum motion blur”. I use similar settings and nds but leave shutter speed on auto so exposure is always nailed. I initially started with traditional cinema theory (24fps and 1/50 shutter )but found it way too slow for motorcycling. I did a series of tests and landed on 1/200 - 1/250s as optimal for adventure bike videos. Will check out more of your channel 👍
Thanks heaps man! As mentioned i've seen a few of your vids and i dig them. I use the pull frame feature a lot and love motion blur in them - in future i'll try the settings that you use out for comparison.
@@MotoFeelz As a matter of interest, Sandmarc is sending me a Variable ND filter for the GoPro to try. I use VariNDs on my mirrorless cameras, but I've always had to switch between the various density filters manually. If this VariND works well on the GoPro, then that will be amazing. THEN I may well lock my shutter speed to the optimum speed and just use the variable ND filter to nail the exposure.
@@thetruthwithtrevor I loved the Variable ND, but unfortunately it didn't mount securely on the GoPro and it fell off pretty quickly into my offroad trip. I told them that. If they ever make a version with a solid mount, I'll buy one for sure.
Great work, mate. I like your style and editing and you have some great tips. Just wondering if you have any issues with hypersmooth if when cruising around with say, the hero 11. Some ppl notice choppy footage when using this feature.
Awesome! Thanks for this! First motovlog attempt and first GoPro! I got the 8 and am lost! Appreciate these settings and will order those filters. 7 filters work on 8?
Awesome tips! One question I do have though is, how is your FOV so wide? I have also set my Gopro 7 black to the same settings with SuperView and my footage is much more zoomed in than yours (can only capture up to my wrist rather than halfway through the forearm) Thanks!
This is amazing info. Thanks a ton. Do you have tips on making time lapse video with ND filters on gopro? I want to have the motion blur in time lapse/warp but there is no option to control shutter speed there.
Hi, I love the settings! The issue I am running into now is the battery life. Any recommendations on how I can have my GoPro last a day of riding without having to change out the battery 5 or 6 times? I can't seem to find a good setup on the internet.
Rob brother super helpful, Are these the same settings you use for a Instagram story? I notice in order to take up the entire phone screen I need to have the GoPro mounted vertical to my helmet. If it's horizontal using wide lens or super view crops the pic to a small rectangle for stories.
I have gopro 7 black. I use a purple panda mic attached to a mic adapter. My point is if I set mic to “auto” my voice is drowned out by wind buffeting and bike rumble. When I set mic to “wind” I get clear crisp voice.
my best experience is setting it to standard mic. I've tried all settings but the audio is messed up. in the settings there is a choice of standard mic, standard mic +, powered mic, powered mic + and line in. you can choose a standard mic to produce perfect audio
Got a few questions: when in 4K 30fps, my gopro 10 heats up real quick, and the duration is so short, how do you handle this issues? you only record certain times? I'd like to record all the time I ride, but the battery dies really quick unless it is 1080 and 30 fps :D
Not sure if these are bots of what… it happens also in the channels I work at, in the second we publish something, there are always a bunch of dislikes in the first seconds, then real people start watching the video and giving thumbs up
Yea it happens, some times they disappear after a few days too. Engagement is engagement though. It actually works in favor with the algorithm still so it’s better than nothing
Great video. I was just wondering why you and others I've watched shoot at 24/30fps and not 60. Does it make it look any better and would It still look good using 60fps with nd filter and appropriate settings? Thanks :)
It’d still look good - i like to pull frames from my footage, and low frame rate means slower shutter which means more motion blur. That’s what I’m after

Do you have gopro/some other brands which are equivalent in quality or you have some cheap version cam? On my gopro the quality is superb, but on my akaso brave 7 and niceboy vega x pro..the quality is really bad, even tho recording in 4k with all settings on max , it is lool like 800x600 or something, especially if stabilization is ON.

Problem is if you get in a crash and go unconscious then you won’t be able to press the shutter button to save the last 5, 20, 30 minutes
