  • After having lunch, I took a stroll along the streets of Old Town Krakow.
Along the walk, I encountered many churches in this part of Old Town Krakow. One of them was the Saints Peter and Paul Church. This church was complete in the 17th century. However, the original 18th century statues were damaged by acid rain; hence, they were replaced (Wikipedia).
Anyway, my curiosity lead me to take a self-guided tour down to the basement of this church to discover whatever.... This was where I saw burial sites of some distinguished Poles in the fields of arts, cultures, and science.
Also here I learned by reading about the famous Polish chemist Olszewski and the eminent physicist/chemist Wróbrewski. These two professors who were the first in the world to liquefy oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon monoxide in April 1883.
A much appreciated, free history lesson just by taking a short tour!
Moreover, according to Wiipedia, Saints Peter and Paul Church hosts one of Poland's National Pantheons.
Afterwards, it was time to head back to my lodging. But firs, I could not miss the opportunity to try the Polish donuts! (I only ate one, though...:)).
Another day of random discovery and learning.
    Cheers!
