As a German, I can also attest to the strangeness of this case so I don't think the title is dishonest, although I agree it's a bit clickbait-y. The two original videos by Simplicissimus have two suggestive questions as a title: "Did the police murder this man?" and "Was Oury Jalloh burned (alive)?" We've had our fair share of right wing murders and terrorist attacks in Germany (NSU, Halle and Hanau just to name a few) but they could be identified as such almost immediately. The cases from the police station Dessau-Roßlau are unique due to the cover-ups that happened and therefore, strange, perhaps strangest in Germany/Europe.

No, this is a correct BAC, but it's on the scale used in the EU. North Americans use a g/cL scale whereas the EU mostly uses g/mL. The only inaccuracy is that fern quotes it as a percentage of blood mass, not as mass per unit-volume. For some reason, non-medical North American sources seem to think that g/cL is equivalent to percentage of blood but it's not b/c the density of blood and alcohol are not 1g/mL like water.

It doesn't even have to be that immediate and extreme - the core problem here is that the German justice system is blind when it comes to Police and Prosecutorial misconduct. The prosecutors are buddies with the police and the judges are buddies and colleagues with the prosecutors. In fact, it's rare for a judge in German courts to not have time as a prosecutor earlier in their career. There is distance between defence counsel and judges, and there is inappropriate familiarity between prosecutors and judges all over German courts. If the laws were executed as they are on the books, the outcome of this would have been completely different, but due to these structures, German laws are only used against regular people on trial, almost never as the check against executive power that they were also intended for.

it was a bad point, I was wrong. this person has no idea what they're talking about.
"Fireproof" in this instance means that you cannot light it on fire with a lighter, and that's really all that matters here. Go ahead and try at home if you want... it can't be done.
@@idontwantahandlethough both wrong, fireproof means it is not-flammable, which means that if there is a fire, it wont expand like a any fuel would do. Ofcourse anything you throw in a fire will GET BURNED/CHARRED, but that is not the same as BURNING AS A FUEL, like wood, gasoline, cotton etc... Put a small fire on something, does it burn on its own, than its a fuel... easy as that...
It wasn’t suicidal because why would he need to yell for help otherwise? It could be friction and something else though I’m not sure.
@@AswodelI'm literally telling you what fireproof means in this specific situation, because it's specific to this situation due to the legislation: fireproof bedding will not light at low temperatures. You cannot use a lighter to burn a mattress. It does not work. I've literally tried.
Here, I'll go try again on the old mattress in the garage. Yeah, it didn't work.. just left a melted spot. To put it another way: a fireproof mattress will not burn as fuel unless you have other shit (like an accelerant) to get it going. To put it _yet_ another way: this guy didn't light himself on fire.
Remeber kids always:
- destroy the logs
- destroy the video recordings
- introduce evidence to the case later (like the lighter)
- come up with conspiricys like a guy with glasses opening the back door via classifyed code
- get all or most people in the station to back you
- never mention the long history of people being abused and killed while in custody or near the station
- bribe the judge to ignore the fractured bones and signes of abuse
And then wait out the alegations and protests since people will never take justice into there own hands. After some years feel free to repeat.
Hey doofus there is no such thing as destroying logs or video recordings. It all gets sent to a server somewhere and authorities can access it with ease
Nobody bribed the Judge
@kippokappa9150 didnt they say the judge ignored the evidence? He clearly was abused and the facial fractures looked deadly. A fire does not cause that. The only people that couldh have done it were the cops especialy the broken ribs. Besides missing logs and storys not ligning up its clear.
@ No in the German legal system only the prosecutors office can open investigations and therefore reopen a case the judges have nothing to do with it judges in Germans are independent but the prosecutors are part of the executive branch that means that most likely the state ministry of justice closed the case

@@rickyricardo9710 It's essentially a retelling of this case and that's basically how it went in the media. Presented as a tragic accident at first but with more and more details seeing the light of day (including the other deaths), it became clear that Oury Jalloh was murdered.
As a German, I can also attest to the strangeness of this case so I don't think the title is dishonest, although I agree it's a bit clickbait-y. The two original videos by Simplicissimus have two suggestive questions as a title:
"Did the police murder this man?" and
"Was Oury Jalloh burned (alive)?"
We've had our fair share of right wing murders and terrorist attacks in Germany (NSU, Halle and Hanau just to name a few) but they could be identified as such almost immediately. No, this is a correct BAC, but it's on the scale used in the EU. North Americans use a g/cL scale whereas the EU mostly uses g/mL. It’s also impossible he was aggressive or tried to SA German girls, no way no how they NEVER EVER do that, nowhere on earth!

For the internaltional audience: This incident is extremely well known in Germany and the "Initiative in Gedenken an Oury Jalloh" ("Initiative in Memory of Oury Jalloh") as well as other people thankfully have been very vocal in not letting this injustice rest. This case for obvious reasons has massively contributed to public mistrust towards the police. For instance in his 2021 hit song called "Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt" ("This is all covered by the freedom of artistic expression"), Danger Dan included the lines:
"Und man vertraut auch nicht auf Staat und Polizeiapparat" ("And you also don't trust the state and police apparatus")
"Weil der Verfassungsschutz den NSU mit aufgebaut hat" ("Because the Constitutional Protection has helped getting the NSU started"; reference to different scandal where undercover informants of the "Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution" helped the NSU ("National Socialist Underground") commit a series of murders)
"Weil die Polizei doch selbst immer durchsetzt von Nazis war" ("Because the police themselves have always been infiltrated by Nazis")
"Weil sie Oury Jalloh gefesselt und angezündet hab'n" ("Because they cuffed and set aflame Oury Jalloh")
"Und wenn du friedlich gegen die Gewalt nicht ankommen kannst" ("And if you can't peacefully win against the violence")
"Ist das letzte Mittel, das uns allen bleibt, Militanz" ("then the last measure left for all of us is militancy"; in reference to Article 20 (4) of the german constitution, which reads: "All Germans shall have the right to resist any person seeking to abolish this constitutional order if no other remedy is available.")
I assume it's for that reason that a tiny part of the music video for that song was part of the compilation at the end of this video at 30:45.

@@ProjectionProjects2.7182 cameras weren't as commonly used. Often places would have them in like entrances or the main room but not in every single room.
You'd imagine the police would be better at orchestrating a cover-up but apparently a DIY conspiracy was enough to keep all of these people out of prison.
it's like evolution, we could have four arms but there was no pressure that selected for that. the police are as good at orchestrating a cover-up as they need to be to get away with it
normal procedure in germany. got light sentence when i was illegaly beaten up by five officers, illegal holding back of files, 1,5 years of open warrent, while going to court in another state and sending my lawyer to look into my casefiles which was denied. like then the judge gave me a deal, i dont do any lawsuits and i get a light sentence. of course i took the easy way out, youll be in for years of processes for 1500€.
This is why people cancel their streaming services, because people like you guys are making stuff with higher quality than the professional Netflix crews. Love you guys ❤️
this is impressive. i have never heard of this man before. sounds like police injustice isn't limited to the US. thank you for sharing
What the first a in acab stands for
0:27 Your censoring didn't work, auto CC got it just fine.
Umm… yes it worked
@@franciscodiaz1214 It most definitely didn't. They're trying to avoid demonetization by censoring the word "Suicide." If this worked, the auto CC would say something like "police claim it was a suit" or just "police claim it was a." Except the auto closed captions accurately transcribed it, meaning that TH-cam now knows this video says the word "Suicide" and worse it says it within the first 30 seconds of the video.
A good and helpful catch for a video creator, ty @the_ratmeister
@@the_ratmeisterin the vid makers defense these rules are just complete bullshit from TH-cam and Google... probably just to save a few bucks that they would otherwise have to pay out.
@@the_ratmeistercouldnt have said it any better
bro wtf! This is beyond fascinating
i have found myself binge watching all the fern content. and i am yet to be disappointed, keep up the good work!
Last time I checked the subscriber count it was 150k. Now 2.24 million. Huge congratulations!
Keep up the quality documentaries! love all the visual affects and the 3D affects done by Tom Westbay (as well as all the work everyone else does!)
16:14 "This is what the cell looks like" **99% of the screen is censored**
And yet there’s no one in prison for these horrific crimes…
Two words: TH-cam censorship
Some of these comments are disgusting. A man dying in custody ISN'T normal! Just a small reminder that Jalloh wasn't the only one who died there under unknown circumstances. Justice for Hans-Jürgen Rose, Mario Bichteman and Oury Jalloh!
Wir werden nie vergessen, nie vergeben.
Ich war ein wenig erleichtert zu hören, dass das Verfahren weiter gezogen wurde.
Man the quality is incredible it feels like I’m watching premium limited that you need to pay documentaries, you deserve it all man.
The sheer inhuman behavior of humans, may everyone involved in this never ever find peace.
Ftiends and helpers
Aside from the judge who openly stated the officers involved should not have their badges, this reminds me of the analogy of ten people sitting down for a dinner. If one of the people declares themselves a Nazi and doesn't receive a push-back, there are ten Nazis at the table.
That's the thing, this isn't inhuman. That's a lie we like to tell each other to make us feel safe.
this is human, humans do evil stuff.
It's not like the man was some upstanding citizen if he was harassing women
great to see you guys creating international awareness about this horrible crime #JUSTICEFOROURYJALLOH
0:59 I have 1 strong guess: the police
Why would the police kill him you idiot, if they did there would be a good reason
i agree. they even ignored a fire alarm.
No mine is stronger.
Answer is no.
@ yeah there’s no way the police would do that. I mean they would’ve did something really bad but I stopped watching the video because this video is stupid and I don’t like it so I don’t know what he did, but I’m gonna assume he did something really bad if the police did it which they almost definitely did not do it.
Strong work police, who knows who many women they saved from this migrant
I see fern. I smash that button. Easy peasy.
"She tells him to calm down"
Without a doubt the worst thing to say to anyone who you want to actually calm down. Especially when they're drunk.
It's crazy when I can click on a video and it's so good that I subscribe to the channel within the first minute.
very crazy right, as if I'm happy for you. my dear
You know it’s a good day when fern and brew and the infographics show all upload in the same day
Infographics show uploads multiple times a day sometimes doesn’t it?
@@ruthlessone724 yeah but sometimes they have an off day
Infographics show is the most shite channel on the platform. Smarten up
@@80AM. no u
@@oriondoesstuff To be fair, he does have a legitimate point. Several credible/knowledgeable creators have called out numerous factual inaccuracies in various Infographic’s videos. They seem to be more focused on speculation/releasing videos quickly than on documenting facts so I would at least consider taking their content with a grain of salt.
not being able to say the word suicide, is down right outrageous. wtf youtube.
How does he make these videos so fast but they look so good
a team
They have a team and this video is out on their german channel for almost a year now
Have i already Seen this Video on Simplicissimus?
Yes!!!
Do I still watch it again?
Absolutly Yes!!!
You guys have been picking up the quantity and quality of your content. This TH-cam channel is fantastic, very underrated
yeah, police beat the man to death, chained him to the bed, pour petrol over him, set him on fire. I think she did hear his final cries for help. You don't just set off the fire alarm and rush to turn it off. You investigate. criminal negligence is how these professionals should have been sentenced. No one knows a whole lot of what happened that night, and his life was in their hands.
The quality of these productions is quite extraordinary
I just love your voice. I always like to fall asleep to it, I've already created a playlist where I save the videos where you do the voice over. Of course, the videos from simplicissimus are also included.
thank you for your work.
Same! I love listening to this types of voices.
that ending is insane, who would ever be innocent and word it like that
The production quality is insane!
Horrific case, superb video. The editing and music, it's incredible. You're all very talented people, thank you for honoring the memory of Oury Jalloh.
cops: "haha yeah no you are SO under arrest, it's beyond obvious you did it. the law is a joke."
also cops "there may be a LOT of clues that i did it buuuuuuut"
how production quality like this is free to watch is beyond me...
You’re the product
So you pay for bad quality stuff?
@@mason96575 Revanced baybee lets gooo
Fern will be the next vice I’m calling it. Production is 10/10
Vice sucks lol
Thank you so much for shining a light on this case. it is important that we won't forget these kinds of cases. The victims deserve justice
I subscribed Fern when there were even less than 200k. i can see how far they have come and each video they are getting better and better.
Has any streamers/youtubers react to this? This is so good!
A very well edited, incrediby interesting, and super informational video once again, amazing job Fern!
Fern takes yt videos today to whole another level
I always like seeing the comments as I watch a video to see what other people are thinking… unfortunately I’m here 30 seconds after upload…
2 minutes later and comments are flooding in
23 min later
Plenty of comments now
Best to spare yourself this one. The comments are full of bootlickers justifying the abuse and murder.
That sounds like a you problem with a very easy fix.
These videos just keeps getting better and better!! 😭🙏
My Wi-Fi has been messing up these past few days and this notification was great to see considering I just came back from my final concert of the year! Now that I come to think of it, I vividly remember enjoying this on Simplicissimus, and just like last time, I have KFC as well, lol.
I'm going to download this and S02E02 of Black Mirror, so when the Wi-Fi screws up again, I am prepared.
