  • How are you? I've missed you so much. We been so busy at The Freakin Rican Restaurant .If you dont have Bijol make your own Achiote heres the link on how to make it • How to make Achiote Oi... .
    NOTE: In the beginning of the video you'll be using 1 tsp of salt. Then once the meat cooks for 1 hour and your ready to add the rest of the ingredients Only add 1/2 tsp of salt. I got confused its 1 1/2 tsp all together. So dont add more salt then that to the whole recipe. Also we had to add Sofrito behind the scenes cause I forgot, lol My head sometimes.Stir and taste occasionally add more water if needed but not much more. Got it? We love you so much. Thank you once again for so much support. The beef stew by the freakin rican is he bomb.. tastes so good! que dios me los bendiga! don't hesitate to ask me questions if you have any problems.

    Great recipe! One suggestion, Instead of the rubber band you can use another piece of cilantro to tie the bunch. Keep the videos coming!

      For you youngens , Cuba here. That is how is supposed to be done, your preference but keeping it traditional made is using rubber bands. Born and raised in the Northwest of the Chi , Humboldt Park and Logan Square. AMOR!!!

    Hey 👋🏼 thanks for all your videos, you have truly improved my cooking 🥘 lol I am 45 years old and a mother of seven Born in Manhattan New York, but raised in the Bronx. I was taught by my grandparents that were from Bayamón, Puerto Rico how to cook and my parents also taught me other dishes, so I have been cooking since the age of 11. Ever since I ran into your TH-cam videos and I’ve been following your recipes to the T 😁 my husband and kids (even though 3 of them are now adults) have started to praise my cooking again because their saying they can tell that I’ve been experimenting with different seasonings and they ask me everyday what am I going to cook today. I want to let you know that the Lord has blessed you with an amazing gift, and thank you for sharing with the world your gift. May the Lord continue to guide and bless you for the rest of your life. I love the attention that I am getting from my family because of your videos. Thank you so very much. You have truly inspired me to wanna learn outside of my comfort box because the seasonings and the way of cooking that my family had taught me are totally different but similar too but just with a twist of you. I really love having you in the kitchen with me while I’m cooking. God bless you and keep on sharing. Love you and your partner 🌹❤️‍🔥 you two make an awesome team And may God bless you both and your union forever more.

Comments like yours are SUCH AN INSPIRATION! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Keep watching, keep cooking and Dios te bendiga!

      I totally agree, Stephanie. I picked up on that right away. Cleanliness first, especially when it comes to the food.

    • @Moonputa
      @Moonputa 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      stephanie valentine technically you don't have to clean your meat because cooking it kills all of the germs. When you clean the meat you're actually spreading more bacteria! There are many countries who don't wash the meat before cooking :)

    • @fabulessme811
      @fabulessme811 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Okay thanks for telling me this, but I alway have rinse my meat you just dont know what it went through before it get to the customer.

      When you cook your beef for more than 20 min @ 120 degrees you basically kill off anything that might kill you.

    • @2REX30
      @2REX30 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's more unsanitary to wash your meat in your sink than it is to just cook it, mainly because what ever germs or bacteria may be on the meat is now all over your sink and if the water splashes now it's on your counter, etc. Not to mention now it's in your drain where the bacteria can spread and grow.

    I take the meat and season it with a little bit of adobo and garlic powder, then take a spoonful of flour and mix it well with the meat. Heat up olive oil, about 2tsp and brown the meat first. By doing this the meat will be much tender. After that add whatever ingredients you'd like. I like to add potatoes, diced tomatoes and carrots.

    Looks awesome. This should be a great Crock Pot recipe as well. I was expecting you to add onions, but you didn't. Is this recipe ever done with onions? I have sofrito. One teaspoon or more? BTW, Walmart has Bijol.

    Can you make a video for pan de agua? I have not been able to find a good video for that kind of bread.

    Where did you obtain the big jug of "Bijol" was it at a box store like Costco or BJ's or online? In addition you have sofrito in the recipe ingredients but used fresh cilantro, wouldn't you need some more ingredients to make it into a classic sofrito for the recipe? Please clarify on both inquiries thank you.
    Peace...Jorge.

    Great video, I would add the potatoes towards the end I don’t like mushy potatoes. Also, I would skip the rubber band.
