This game looks as amazing as any of the greats from the past. The game that comes to mind is Larsen vs Spassky, Bird opening. Spassky crushed the king-side and white never got to castle. 0-1 in about 25 moves. The audacity of playing this game like an engine is amazing. It's clearly world champion quality.
He is hopefully back in form , and he will play more mature in candidates 🎉 as a one of the oldest subscribers of your channel I appreciate all you efforts mate
Firouzja did play like stockfish, using his queen very powerfully and accurately. Maghsoodloo is usually a Sicilan player, so his preparation might not have been as good in the Ruy Lopez Berlin defense.
@@KeithDonovan-cd3eo Well what if Alireza makes it to the candidates and Magnus decides to go into the candidates as well (I believe he qualifies). Wouldn't the two have a good fight for the championship?
When Magnus said he was devilishly tricky, it was a huge compliment. I love that he's not afraid of bold moves. Absolute class to watch. GG James another banger mate, great stuff as always.

Parham told to Alireza that he was aware of this line. But AF said it's extremely hard to memorize all those moves. Even Parham doesn't make that blunder, still hard to play with black.
Epicchess drinking game- take a drink every time he says: branked, shut-the-trap, what a geometry, throwing everything at the king, it begs the question, or joins the party.

While it has a different historical origin, begs the question in normal British parlance means a question that is begging to be asked from the given circumstances, ie the same as raises the question. You can read more about the history of the phrase as well as its more common modern meaning at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question . Finally, I would suggest it is a good idea to know what you are talking about before you correct the grammar or spelling of others online. Because when you are wrong, you look really REALLY stupid.
Great to see. I think Alireza is the most interesting and exciting of the super GMs in a game/sport that is increasingly getting less interesting at the longer time limits.
Look up begs the question. It means the question is not answered. Famous in English parliament. What people mean to say is this is the question brought up by the circumstance.
Parham didn't play bad persay , just a very poor opening choice walking into the opponent strength, walking into these open tactical positions with firouzja Is like walking to a very level immature end game with Magnus, you simply should not do that
Very impressive. Almost as good as my 11 move, 100% accuracy checkmate 😏 but nah all jokes aside, Alireza had that game in a chokehold. Fantastic to watch when I’m not the one struggling 😂😂
Wonderful game indeed 💯 excellent commentary👍. I am also one of the first subscribers and I join the other comment in saying James that you should stay in your own style, so please do not imitate others by introducing all kind of show elements, but be genuine and that surely will pay off in the end. Love your channel 😊 and love to see Alireza in form❤ Great creative player!
I dunno tbh I haven't seen an interview with him in a while, I'd like to see one! I gotta say though, I'm glad he's there rather than Wesley, from a pure chess entertainment perspective
It seems that Alireza is finally back to chess!!
What a great news😍

Great to see Alireza back. He is the only player who can get Magnus playing for the classical title again.
But they can not fight for the title this year!

Parham played to Alireza's hand, who thrives at this sort of all out attacks. The ranking difference looks more like 1900 not 19!
