Oh please. I found h6 in less than 20 seconds and I'm a moron.
I'm glad to see Carlsen is still playing the exact same moves I would play.. he's gonna be famous one day if he keeps it up
At some point his opponents will be unable to keep letting him win.
This seems like a great example of the war strategy "create dilemma not problems" problems have solutions dilemma's have no great solution and drag the problem on. Another way to say this is "to take is a mistake" instead of pouncing on the weaknesses he exposes he delays taking advantage of them until he absolutely has to which keeps the dilemma in Hikarus head
Wow, f6 was first thing that came to mind for me. It blocks h5 from going h6 to support g6 pawn if it pushes. Black bishop would become tied to the h8 square if not. This would lead to either losing d2 or Hikaru getting a queen.
@@allancouceiro9255 nope. Far from it.
That's twice in two games I've correctly answered the 'find the best move' challenge, but i only saw a few moves ahead. I had no idea how the game would resolve.
Keep an eye on this Magnus guy, he'll be going places in Chess. Trust me.
Astounding that Magnus misses Kc2, that a 1400 player would see immediately so his d-pawn's set to queen. Okay it's bullet, but what a putz
Bro went back to 2023🤔
yeah lacking new fun content this year 😥
It's fine
@@epicchess2021 more from the "Freestyle GOAT Challenge" would be nice, I think 960 is much more entertaining
Found the move. But of course in a game against these Goats I would never have got to this finish.
I did too, but not because I'm good at chess. I just look at whatever the most innocuous and improbably useful move is and that turns out to be it, especially if it's a pawn.
I'm bad at chess - like not even 700 - and that was the first move I thought of :P... I couldn't do the moves that got him there, but that one was easy :)
Wow I guessed it. It was just a guess though, not really understanding it
ah nice still your intuition didn't let you down :D
I think there's a bit of hyperbole here. h6 was pretty obvious, even to me. There is no way this is the Greatest Move of all Time. Sorry.
Wasn't obvious to me
Also they were playing bullet
Always a luxury to say that now. But you're not Magnus even in a gazillion years. So....... 🤣🤣🤣
Certainly the greatest piece of hyperbole in recent years.
@@hisgreatness2 No, I'm not Magnus and that's the point. That move isn't actually that difficult to spot. It certainly isn't Marshall's Qg3 against Levitsky or Fischer's Be6 against Byrne.
@@MrHistorian123Well I kind of agree.
White pawns getting connected is a risk so h6 to block one of them seems obvious.
If it's obvious to a noob like me then ofc it'll be obvious to an endgame GOAT like Magnus.
He had other great mind-blowing moves but this isn't particularly that astonishing
7:00
technically, not a bathtub: it faces the wrong way.
time to coin a new word
oh I do it either direction but yeah good ideas, I will think on that but welcome ideas too! haha
@@epicchess2021the mother-in-law, lol
🤣 mine certainly resembles
Please stop using that stupid term GOAT.
What is the alleged "GOAT" move?
It’s TH-cam you can’t get likes unless anything is the most *one of its kind /best/dramatic/epic/unbelievable … etc thing
James, love your game recaps. Just the right length and level of depth. One day, I’ll be able to get some of these moves without rewinding a couple of times! 😂
Thanks a lot haha
I legit saw h6. I thought it was obvious. lol
This was a fantastic move, the match was fantastic, both players played brilliantly. Springer is also a knight here in Norway, though hest (horse) is often used informally-Thanks James.
Oh cool thanks for sharing didn't know that! Thanks as always
In Denmark as well.
@@erikskov8759 Yes thanks, Erik on my first day in Norway I was in fretex and found a book with games by Bent Larsen, it turned out it was Danish my wife spotted sometime later. Of course it was chess so easy to understand, now after all these years Danish is easy enough to read and to understand. Very difficult to speak it so that Danes understand, luckily you lot are so kind and understanding of both Norwegian and my native English.
No it wasn't - it was obvious, almost as obvious as the missed Kc2 earlier
@@zetristan4525 obvious to Stockfish indeed.
3:17 Or in... you know... Norwegian 😂
Bravo GIANT GOAT of chess Mr.king kong of chess Magnus Carlsen...Im glad you defeted dancing Hakaru Namaru, put him in his place, let him learn some more machine lines...but that what makes a diference,if you know how to play good in classsical format and all formats so to speak...job well done...bravissimo...dance now Harakiri Namaru.😂🎉
I didn't see how it was winning, but it seemed quite obvious to me that by not playing h6 I would be losing. It seems to me that the greatness lies not in finding h6 (what those commentators were thinking, I can't imagine... I'm definitely not great, and judging from the comments, lots of others found this, too) but in the ability to follow up with a series of moves that eventually forced Hikaru into submission.
the move is "easy to find" (how many other possibilities are there?) but not at all easy to see why it is correct. Way above my level, even with an hour or two to think.
I immediately saw Na5 at 2:18, when do I receive my honorary title?
Nicely spotted!
I would probably play Ba4 then
@@jebbush3130 I wouldn't have played Na5 in that position, I just saw the immediate idea considering the battery is there

Like or Dislike: Like. Will we get a recap of Hans Niemann's win today in #Djerba?
Yep. The greatest chess player ever. No doubt surely.
Is it always a theoretical draw? If only the ponds are on the outside of the board or if the pond is in the middle of the board one side should have a way to win?
On what move of the game did Magnus finally push the d pawn?
loved it, so close, beautiful chess
Missing Kc2 is the story. I know it's bullet but seriously!
So true, Nakamura not finding Be3 the first time was a fatal flaw that put him on the defensive for several moves, not able assert himself.
Ever since Kramnik exposed Nakamura, he hasn't be the same. He can't even find basic tactics on the board. Hikaru's true elo is probably in the lower 1400's.
I love your bong in the background, useful for certain openings
hahaha that is a chess trophy I won recently
I found h6 rather easily with the bishop doing both defense and offence
Wonderful commentary and presentation as always. Thanks James. Also, I see with amusement that your German vocabulary is rapidly improving :-)
Thanks! Haha
His ridiculous antigravity hair leaves me astounded
why did he have to take with the bishop at b3, and not move it to d3?
Yes please more Magnus vs Hikaru!!! Keep it up
thanks a lot glad you enjoyed
So it wasn't necessarily all that brilliant? :)
The amount of advertising time before your video dissuades me from supporting your channel.
I don't purchase any of the advertised goods; the advertising is an inconvenience and an imposed aggravation.
Sorry to hear that especially because I have no control over that! Only thing creators can choose is where to put them in the middle, I can't decided if ads run before or for how long or anything like that, so I am surprised to hear my channel is in any way different to others
Carlson the TOAA -- The One Above All
haha true true
the goat playing goat moves, gotta love it. Now I will watch the video :)
haha hope you enjoyed
Definitely, I assume now: Magnus is the best chess player in history! Recently wining random chess ( You are really talented chess player if you play this one well without any theory or preparation) and playing with his opponents like with toys! He was playing little psychological games with them: Let them win first game and devasted them in rest of match! They all have impression they could win, but they were sooo optimstic!
At 4:55 instead of bringing the King into the action why didn’t he play Bc2? Magnus would have picked up a pawn.
Is magnus cheating?
I love watching these two play blitz
That's why Magnus Carlsen is the G.O.A.T of our generation when he is on form, he can't be beaten
"Greatest of all time of this generation" doesn't make sense lol
@@blue_red_screenyep it‘s contradictive 😂
whats the reason for bishop b6 at 09:54
I forget the details now sorry!
Started playing chess a few months ago and I found H6 instantly. Clearly the hyperbole is your explanation and not the move itself, it was rather obvious even for a chess noob like me.
oh sorry, fair enough, well played tho still!
I was disappointed to note that, unlike other videos you have created, this one is apparently not guaranteed to make me into a grand master within 6 weeks. Sometimes it's what you don't say ..... 😞
Sorry lol 😢
imo I like your commentary best for enjoyment. hikaru for best analysis.
but you should be million subs by now
Thanks a lot!
Amazing
End-game grind from the end-game goat.
That can’t be a double brilliant move because I got it right!! And I’ve never had a double brilliant move before!! It took me about 3 minutes but at least I got it 😊
Another good vid, but I’m pretty sure that was Rob rather than Dan
Thanks and na was Danya, Robert wasn’t even commentating the other one was Aman
9:16
It is obvious that when prompted that there is an opportunity for a good move with so few pieces on the board and infinite time many are going to find it.
But the comments make it apparent that many people have never competed in anything in their live if they are able to delude themselves into thinking it would have been simple on low time in a tournament with the best players in the world.
What other move should I play? - unless I want to give away a draw.
Shirov (with his greatest move Bh3) would be embarrassed at some of the comments on this channel.
I saw it within seconds too😂
Bullet... 😭
yeah tho I really enjoy bullet games tbh!
My heart goes to 80 to 113
when in time trouble
First guys 💀
Might need endgame refresher course lol
:D
Great analysis, but brother why are you speaking in 0.5x speed 😂
I used youtube's maximum 2x playtime speed for the entire video.
But h6 was pretty obvious. (Not only is it the winning move, but other moves obv don't get you better than a draw)
Sorry, no falling for this hype
0:36 I could swear it looks almost like Magnus is using chopsticks and Hikaru using plastic spoon...
