    People that use the term primary/secondary or anything else besides master/slave don't actually understand what's going on behind the scenes to realize that master/slave is the logically correct terminology and that anything else wouldn't make sense. This has nothing to do with humans. This is not directed at humans. It makes no sense to get offended by it.
    Thanks for using the correct terms, and thanks for the videos.

    This was a gem. And please, I’m black but everyone should understand what you mean when you’re talking about master and slave when it comes to these machines. Carry on! And thanks so much!

    • @robertmac71
      @robertmac71 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being black has nothing to do with "master" vs. "slave." There have been more white slaves than any other race in history, but who really cares. Religion has been the top divider of people causing mass persecution and "slavery." Just look at the Jewish Holocaust. Everyone knows racism is wrong and that slavery is evil but in the music industry it makes perfect sense and has been used since the creation of MIDI devices. Glad the presenter doesn't give an "F" as people are too easily offended today in this mentally ill, "politically correct" environment of paranoia and fear. Solid video. Thumbs up.

    • @ToRFlow
      @ToRFlow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, especially since there's been slaves of all races since the beginning. There's no reason why one race should hold the monopoly on being sensitive about the words master and slave. Some people just wake up each day hoping to find something to be angry about, so they have something to post on TikTok.

    i wish the model 16 had midi! this is such a great feature! i usually just have aaaall my synth and electronics into a 12 channel stereo mixer and put the stereo outs into my dp-24 mk2 multitrack... the one they took midi off of... i just have to have REALLY good timing pressing start doing overdubs. this feature sounds so relieving.
    ps: the track sounds great! youve sold me on upgrading from the dp-24 to this

    Excellent tutorial using midi. I am a guitar player and singer but I also use my Korg Pa4x styles for generating backing tracks using the single finger style as I cannot change chords quickly enough.This tutorial has given me some great ideas. So far I have tried using my DAW software to control the tempo, program changes and bank changes along with other control changes to select the various styles, intros and breaks but your tutorial shows a more efficient and less time consuming way to achieve the same result, I have the Tascam Model 12 but it never occurred to me to use it with my Pa4x until I saw this video. I was mainly looking for tips on how to use the Tascam Model 12 as an audio interface. Keep up the great work. Regards. Alan

    Hello! Thanks for the great video. I was looking to sync my Squarp Pyramid from Tascam and this looks like the answer!
    I do have a question - how did you record Korg sections (drums, base, lead, etc.) into different channels? Was it over USB using a daw in your computer? Is it possible in a dawless setup?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This video demonstrates a DAW-less operation. I use MIDI to sync the Korg to Model 12. First record the arrangement in the Korg built in sequencer, then, set the clock to external MIDI, now the Model 12 controls the start and stop of the Korg sequencer. Mute all sequencer tracks accept the one you like to record onto the Model 12 via audio cables. Every time you start from the beginning to record the next instrument sound, all tracks will line up.
      Hope this helps.

    Great video. I have watched several of yours several times and learn something new each time. I have a Jupiter xm and an MPC One plus. I am hopping to add a Jupiter x as I can control the 5 parts manually in which case I would like to record to 7-8 or 9-10. The Jupiter xm I am hoping to do track separation onto tracks 1-2. 2-3,4. This leaves 5 and 6 for stereo left right from my rodecaster which has my piano and mics. I don’t have the Tascam yet and am wondering if what I am saying makes sense. I plan on using the Mpc one as the master, parent. Primary, boss, king, etc and all connected via powered usb hour. Awesome video and it was cool to see you groove in this video. Master/Slave has been used in music and computer language for decades. Who cares about all these hypersensitive language police. I understood exactly what you meant BECAUSE you said "master" and "slave" Had you said Primary and Secondary, i probably would've been a little confused.

  • @thefergolfer
    @thefergolfer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You originally recorded the music on 9/10 So then did you bounce that to 8/9 to put the drums on 9/10? Then what ever channel you arm like. 7 for the bass, the keyboard automatically records to channel 7 through the midi?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recorded a test on 9/10, then I recorded just drums on 9/10. Moved the cables to 7/8 and recorded stereo instruments. Moved one cable to 6 and recorded bass as mono.
      There is a track bounce/swap option on TASCAM, but it's easier to move the cables.

    • @mojorises
      @mojorises 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After the all the MIDI tracks are recorded once onto 9/10, is there a way to separate them out and bounce say just drums or just bass to other tracks internally within the Model 12 (i.e., without moving cables and recording again from your keyboard?) As far as I understand it what is recorded initially on 9/10 would be audio, correct? So if it’s possible to bounce just one of the tracks that’s included in that audio internally within the Model 12 I’m just a little perplexed about how that would work…

    • @RecordingStudio9

      @@mojorises No, current,y no mixer is capable of separating instruments from a stereo track. I record each instrument on the tracks I need.
