I like those side drawer units. All mine open at the back but I have to move my hives to make that accessible. Did you build or buy your traps? They sure cost a lot but those are certainly the best traps out there

I did buy them...but it's been awhile and I can't remember where I got them! Somewhere in the northeast USA I think.

I have a question. I plant flowers to attract bees. I've seen a few large bumble bees. I've noticed that the bees have been leaving pollen on my porch. It's strange. I don't remove it I am thinking the bees come back to collect the pollen it disappears after a few days. Is that's whats happening??

Oddly enough, the bees won't come back for that pollen. When I'm collecting pollen I always spill some on the lids of the hives, and the bees don't ever pick it up. But I'm also wondering if perhaps the bumble bees you're seeing might actually be carpenter bees? They will bore a hole in the wood of your house and leave wood debris on the ground.

Very interested in purchasing your bee pollen, however on the website in the pictures all of the pollen grains look to be the same or similar in color. I've read the best bee pollen should have multiple colored granules in it.

Our pollen varies greatly depending upon the time of year and the variety of plants blooming. Right now we are collecting pollen that is all different colors.

what do you use to clean the bee pollen?

    • @rarehawaiianhoneycompany8902

That's a good question. We started by purchasing an expensive commercial pollen cleaner. It did a terrible job and it also jammed up all the time. Now we use a series of sieves, and we pour the pollen in front of a big fan.

@@rarehawaiianhoneycompany8902 thanks for your feedback, I have been researching the comercial equipments and they don't seem viable for the cost. I am here trying to design a small scale box with a hair dryer.
