Oh my god... that is exactly what I've been searching for. That is incredible. Gracias for your work!

Does the sidechaining work as well as sidechain compression? Is there a way to do something similar to threshold in order to increase/decrease its intensity?

No - both Gate and Side modes are based on pure Note On or Note Off functionality; making it velocity-sensitive would be tricky as it's always delayed by one note message... but it's an interesting idea!

This is really neat. Is it possible to merge from multiple x-relay instances at the same time? For instance, can I put an x-relay device on multiple MIDI tracks, select Relay 1 for each of those instances, then receive all of the MIDI tracks sending on Relay 1 to a single x-relay Node device in merge mode? Thanks!

Hi Richard - you can absolutely merge multiple MIDI streams into a single Relay conduit. The only limitation is the polyphony of the instrument(s) it's being fed to. However, merging multiple MIDI streams may also result in more frequent stuck notes as MIDI note on-off messages could lose their pairings in a particularly busy MIDI stream. Anyway, good luck, experiment & have fun!

@@manifestaudio I picked it up and this works a treat for my use case: recreating Logic's ability to easily have multiple MIDI tracks feeding one instrument track. It's particularly suited for sequencing drums across multiple tracks. Thanks!

Can you automate the parameters with a clip? Like if you had Global Hub on a normal track. Could you automate the pitch shift? CHeers

Of course - all semitone and transposition sliders for both X-Relay and/or Global Hub are available for automation. That said, we strongly recommend only using one instance of Global Hub per set, ideally on your master channel, to avoid potential conflicts. But of course you can (and should!) use as many instances of X-Relay as you like!

@@manifestaudio Thanks for that, also one more question. My midi notes when being played through an X-Relay device seem to cut off randomly, If I hold down a note, 1/3 times it will cut short? As soon as I turn off the X-relay all notes are working perfectly?

@@samuelallenmusic Hi Sam, that should certainly not be happening - and we are unable to reproduce the issue on this end. To understand your issue better, we need more details about how you are using the device, what mode it's in when this occurs, etc. - so, please file a report with us here: manifest.audio/technical-support

Some feedback from (still only) potential customer: you guys make incredible stuff, but it’s hard to understand what is it for. Even if I get excited about a feature (“I could use this do that…”) I immediately get discouraged by how complex it is to accomplish. For me it’s too many features in a singe device. More modular devices would be easier to use. I could use just one feature but as it is there are 20 other features that I don’t need and that’s overwhelming. This tutorial alone is 20 minutes long, I forgot all the exciting things I could do with the device before the video finished. Another thing: the drums are distracting, I get it that some features are easier to hear when a beat plays along, but does the beat has to be so intense? I tried to follow the explanation while listening hard to what actually happens with the music, and it’s not easy to follow. Next, the video starts with a very basic use case, I watched the whole thing only because I know that you guys can make some amazing stuff, but I expect that most people will leave. If you want to sell this, put some exciting sound examples at the beginning. It took like 10 minutes to get to the part which really tells what this device is really for. I hope you don’t take this as a totally negative criticism, because your devices are quite amazing, but the presentation is not giving them justice. Last thing: why does your page has this dark gray background and the text is so small? Impossible to read on a mobile device. Cheers!

Hi Artur! Thank you for this thoughtful comment. In general, we seek to provide integrated solutions so that producers don't need to reach for a different device every time they seek a different function - but obviously many producers as you say prefer dedicated devices for dedicated functions! That's admittedly not been our approach, but we appreciate your feedback. :) As for X-Relay, there are indeed other, simpler MIDI bus network devices out there - but what sets X-Relay apart from them is its advanced multi-functionality, such as the Gate and Side modes, though it can be used for much simpler aims as well. Please also bear in mind, X-Relay is essentially a free device if you have already purchased any of our other tools, and as such is designed primarily to add value to our existing customers and product line - and also pave the way for some future (simpler) products too. :)

@@manifestaudio I actually purchased some devices before, so I'll give it a try! Thanks for the response
